If you could bring back one show

Yes, and yes.
And just because they never got to the actual romance,** Men in Trees**.

Mighty Heroes

We Interrupt This Week - the most obscure TV game show of all time, this was a PBS thing from the late 70’s that focussed on current events. The questions and answers were fired off rapidly - you really had to keep up, with panelists like National Lampoon’s Gerald Sussman, and the funny-as-fuck (well at least then, anyway) Jeff Greenfield.

Inner Tennis - another PBS thing with a dorky tennis instructor who, amazingly, was able to improve peoples’ tennis games by getting them to concentrate more on the mental aspects of the game, using crazy reverse psychology, along with extremely unorthodox metal exercises to approach the game with a renewed perspective. Unique, eye-opening. NOT your typical tennis instruction, by any means.

Beat the Geeks - funky game show on music, film, tv trivia. (huh - just noticed in wikipedia that there were also many guest geeks on different subjects - must have been a different season than the one I watched.) Took me years to get over Tiffany Bolton.

Wait Till Your Father Gets Home - THE Simpson’s proto-type. Animated 70’s show about a typical deadbeat family. I even remember the inane theme song.

Apropos of Nothing, in Brazil, this show was called “Chumbo Grosso” (roughly, “Heavy Lead”) and used the theme song from Simon & Simon.  :dubious:

Ahhhh, those Lander sisters did more for puberty than the pituitary gland itself!

Yes. A thousand times yes, I miss this show.

Downton Abbey.

Yes. Or* Rome*.

Pushing Daisies, Wonderfalls, Better Off Ted . All good and killed before their time. Maybe Joan of Arcadia. Forever OR New Amsterdam.

Numb3rs, WKRP, Community, Arrested Development, West Wing- all good but had full runs. Any new run would suffer by comparison.

Oh, yes, excellent choice.

Also Joan of Arcadia, and the original *Cupid *(the one with Jeremy Piven).

Or Father Ted, though that would be difficult given that both Father Ted and Father Jack have passed away.

Strangers With Candy

To Catch A Predator.

It could be a sitcom of both priests in the afterlife

When Things Were Rotten

YES!! Martin Mull at his best IMO. Mrs. C and I loved that show.

This is the one that came to mind. There’s plenty more shows I love, but this is one I really feel should have more episodes.

Yes, yes yes! Why didn’t I think of that? I loved that show.

Firefly or Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. (Though Serenity and the DS9 relaunch novels helped.)

A&E’s Nero Wolfe series starring Maury Chaykin as Wolfe and Timothy Hutton as Archie Goodwin. With the possible exception of The Sopranos, I think it’s the best television series ever produced.

And oh, happy day! I just discovered that many of the episodes are currently available for viewing on Youtube.

The Young Ones

scrolling through the responses, thinking ‘please no one say it yet, please no one say it yet…YES!! No one mentioned it yet!!’
