If your kid dances like a music video, he's obviously gay!

This video shows a young boy dancing and lip-synching to (I assume) a Beyonce song.

The comments are beyond bizarre. Many of them state outright that the kid is going to be gay.

Is it the dancing or the lip-synching that is going to infect him with TEH GAY? Inquiring minds.

Kid that can dance like that will prolly get more girls than the guys posting about him ever will.

Yeah, it’s just juvenile trash talk – and also if he’s singing along to a female performer’s video, then of course, OMG, how queer, if you’re a boy you should be listening to some male rapper/rocker going on about shooting people, crashing cars, drinking booze and putting down bitches and ho’s. 'Cause, y’know, that’s* manly*, right?

Probably a mixture of both.

Yes, you HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD with that one.

I have a friend whose 8-year-old nephew loves to perform, sings female lead songs, chooses art and music over sports every time, prefers quiet activities over rough-housing, etc. She’s convinced he’s gay. She doesn’t have a problem with it at all. His father is also convinced he’s gay and he’s terribly bummed out over it. He’s forever saying things like, “Son, let’s go toss the ol’ pigskin in the yard.” The kid’s reply is usually, “No, thanks…I’d rather stay in here and draw unicorns.” Dad is in constant inner turmoil over it.

First of all, whatever is going on with the kid, he’s showing a lot of talent in terms of dancing, mimicking, choreography, etc. When he kicked the chair away, I was in awe.

Whether there is something gay about him in appearance, sorry, Teh Gay is already in him. Nothing he does as far as music or performing (or the response to it) is going to add to that outcome (except maybe a massive dose of self-hate).

I would love to respond to all of the “gay-sayers” on that site, but I’ll just comment here.

It’s interesting that one commentor there says this video (and the kids talent) should be hidden away because, if someone saw it, other kids will tease and taunt and ridicule him. Didja ever think about, instead him hiding a god-given talent from sight, maybe you should teach your kids not to be so hateful and intolerant? Huh, huh, huh?

Second of all, since I had just responded to this with my own tale of woe and rejection growing up, their comments brought tears to my eyes.

Goddamn them all.

It could always be worse.
