HarmonicaMoon, I dont have this “plastic card” you speak of. Will you lend one to me?

Diggit! I gets my money that way also. But I haven’t learned the trick of changing Dollars to Pesos and vice versa. How’s that work?

BTW, did you read post #179?

Oye SerafinaPekala, you didn’t respond to my question. Was it too personal?

Oh sorry HM, I got carried away by the thought of putting a plastic card into a machine and getting money! Its just a typical Midwestern USA cave-type cave I guess. No cable TV so its isolated from the world as we know it. If not for the intertubez I would not know even who the POTUS is I guess! No newspaper either! eta: well, there’s NPR tho…

Sounds super! Got fotos?

Bueno, the ATMs here speak pesos. My card speaks dollars. Put in the card and out comes pesos. Really scored today. Exchange rate is awesome! Got 300 pesos more this month. Bought my six pack for 68 pesos, and got some change for some chicken wings and the Grammy Awards. It don’t get any better than that.

RE post #179. I started playing harmonica when I was a traveling salesman. Company car only had am/fm. This was before MP3 players. A long time ago. There were times when there was no signal. Bought a harmonica to fill in the gaps.

Would like to hear the Zoe. Is she on utube? Especially would like to hear that Tiffany version. Give me a link, por favor!

Zoe is my wife and has been on SDMB longer than I have. Not on YouTube (as far as I know). That Tiffany’s harp is more for show and pride of ownership than for “gettin’ down” on.

She’s been a bit under the weather and I’ve been hogging the computer. But one of these days she’ll make her way here and provide you with her take on mouth organs and the like. She likes owning various musical instrument in addition to harps.

I want you to know that I haven’t laughed as hard in a while as I did with those posts about the Rat Ship and your screenplay. It puts me in mind of my days on Commodore BBS’s and the crazy shit we got into back then. Mid 80’s and pre-internet for me. Good times.

Hola Zeldar! I did a search on Zoe to see if you weren’t funning me. I looked at the threads she has started. No offense, but I got the impression that she is the brains of the family, no?
Also Serafina has some talents. Can we put her on the payroll?

Bueno, back to the Rat Ship. Its got possibilities, no? I will write the screen play. I gots experience in that. Maybe the Zoe and I can do the music. Dueling harmonicas. Bueno, we need some violins also. Soundtracks don’t do well without violins.
With all due respect, your suggestion of a part with Raquel Welch leaves us sagging. Can we have someone a little more perky?
Any idea for a producer? We gonna need some cash, no?
Lets run with this flick Zeldar. We will make some cash, and I will show you the ATM game in Mexico.

As far as I am concerned we can get the whole gang in on the movie. Even if all they want to do is be extras or props people.

You’re very astute to detect that Zoe’s got the brains. Especially in terms of Politics, Current Events and other important stuff. I mostly know about trivia and stuff that doesn’t matter much. But, yeah, she’s the one with the brains that count.

I can relate to your preference for a younger female in the movie. Maybe Salma Hayek? That’s my answer to any question relating to decent looking woman. I don’t know any producers on a first name basis. Zoe would do a back flip if you could get Robert Redford’s interest, Besides, he just did a boat movie.

Does anybody else in the thread do violins or fiddles? BTW, you know the difference in a violin and a fiddle?

A violin has strings and a fiddle has strangs

Your move!

Bueno, if Bobby Redford has boat experience, lets grab him. Then we could get Zoe a lot cheaper, no? She might work for free if she could be alongside with him. Super we are saving money already!
I don’t know the Hayek chick. I will do a Dogpile and find out about her.
Since you are in TN, maybe you could drop by Nashville. Rub shoulders with some folk and find us a producer. We gonna need some cash to pull this one off. Got bus fare?

Nashville is home base for me, but I have precious few contacts in the music game and almost all of them are semi-pro at best.

You gotta check out Salma!

No problem with the semi-pro part. We just need a producer with cash to fund this project.
I am really surprised more Dopers haven’t signed up for this ghost ship movie with cannibal rats and canine teeth ready to take over the world. HELLO OUT THERE!..we need some help! Jump in or you may miss the boat, so to speak.
Okay, we got that Redford guy with boat experience and the Hayek chick. Can we get her snake from the video, too? Might come in handy with the rats, no? We have Zoe right? Have you run this past her? I hope she is feeling better. And myself. Where are you in this endeavor? And the Serafina gal has become silent.
Okay Zeldar the great. Wow, sounds like a circus act. Starring “Zeldar the Great”! Make finding a producer a priority. You did see the movie, no?
Excuse me, but my stomach is growling. I gotta find some groceries. I’m beaming down. You got the bridge, okay?

You’ll never guess, so I’ll tell you: I spent a little while watching a bit of the Grammys. Not all of it, just enough to realize I have lost touch with pop music.

The circus thing might be fun. Maybe if the movie doesn’t pan out we can get us a tent.

Since this thread seems headed for 300 (!) posts, and since a lot of water has gone over the dam since some of you last posted, I have started Highly Honored Heritage Hipsters – Part 2 as of Today, (Jan/27/2014), 09:27 AM, as a place to continue discussions of your choice and to deal with dangling ones.

Jump on in either place, or start a new one with your own link to this one as background information for newcomers.

Banzai!

60th birthday coming up this summer, looking forward to it!

Good morning hipsters! In answer to the question, “How cold can it get here?” , the answer is, “-7ºF in Cowtown IL” Windchill made it -22ºF overnight. Get your critters indoors peeps!

Yes, it’s cold. Not that cold, but it’s going to be Thursday before we get above freezing here. I just looked at a national map and the bulk of the country is that way.

Thanks for joining the thread. Early birthday wishes to you.
