Ignorant .mp3/Internet question

Old .mp3 links… When they’re gone, they’re gone – Correct?
For example, I found links to songs when checking out an old site through the archive.org Wayback Machine, but upon clicking the link (ie. “NAME_OF_SONG.MP3”), it is no longer available.
Any way to resurrect such things from the dead or am I out of luck?

Thx.

Out of luck. It was a downloadable file, just like if they were hosting a link to a game or a ultility program. The server no longer has the file for you to download.

It may be gone forever, Internet-wise. Or it may just be renamed and/or stored somewhere else. If it’s important to you, it might take some detective work to find it.
