Il mio viaggio in Italia, an MMP

Yep, same guy.

Soooo… is it Friday 5pm yet? Because time is going by soooooo slow that at least two days must have elapsed since I walked in this morning.

(OK, it made more sense in my head… I blame my mushbrain-ness on the lack of intellectual stimulation)

So I set out this morning to get some bubble wrap, 'cause I have a fairly large, for me, order from a customer who has 3 Bed & Breakfast places up in Washington state. While I was at it I figured I’d stop off at TJs and get some cheese. Well, I came home 3 hour later, having visited 3 stores, with 6 bags of stuff, and no bubble wrap!

I’ve got Mad Cow I tells ya!

On the plus side, I just had a couple of TJ’s green chili chicken tamales for lunch, and they had Biryani today, which they’re usually out of. So there’s that.

I agree with Nava, and the rest of you, BTW.

BooFae, the last time we were in Vegas, admittedly several years ago, we went to see The Blue Man Group, and loved them, FWIW.

Well, I guess I’d better go get some bubble wrap. :sigh:

Howdy Y’all! Not much to say. Just that I’m tahred and hongry so Ima go forage for some dindin.

Later Y’all!

I just feel the need to express that roast beast sammiches with lots of Dijon mustard and horseradish are very much Teh Nom.

That is all.

Slow-cooked barbecue pork’s not too shabby either, and that’s what’s filling my slow-cooker right now. And, it’s also filling the house with a lovely aroma.

Um, yeah, tater tots with cheese and ketchup. (There’s nothing else in the house to eat.)

Thanks for that link, gotti. I’ve got it running right now. The really weird thing is that the pop-ups stopped for about 1/2 hour and now they’ve started again.:smack:

Oh, forgot to mention… RIP the PieFamily DVD player. It has been broken and disassembled in order to retrieve what it ate. (Yes, I know, I could have just disassembled and reassembled it, but it only ever worked right 2 times during the entire last year anyways so, it’s time had run out.)

I’ll read and catch up in a bit. Just wanted to check in so you don’t fret and stuff… Supper has been ingested and I wanna sleep. I had a terrible night last night - hardly slept an hour in a row. I’m thinking melatonin will be on tap for tonight.

<yawn>

I had a PBJ for dindin. Oh, have I mentioned I’m a bachelor? Ol’ y’all know who is off on a family visit. That’s why the less than wunnerful diet this week. I think that’s also why I’m plannin’ out all these meals for next week. I hate cookin’ for just me. Ok, yeah, there’s stuff in the freezer (soups and stews etc) but still… ok, I’m lazy. Get over it. So There!:stuck_out_tongue:

I’m with MOOOOOOM on the melatonin thing. Think I’ll go take one now.

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Arrrrrrrrrrgh!

I called in to work because I was feeling generally crappy. Then I managed to injure – or least irritate the hell out of – my left knee by kneeling to wipe up some coffee drips from the kitchen floor. There seems to be something weird with the bone at the end of my femur, or so I was told. What I know for sure? It hurts. If I move it wrong, it hurts ten times more for anywhere from a second to a few minutes. I ended up at the emergency room and now have some good pain meds (Yay! I will sleep quite well thanks to those), a referral to another doc…and a pair of $*^& crutches. To think when I was a kid I thought it’d be fun to be on the things. I’ve know better than that for quite some time, but I’ve always managed to avoid them.

On the other hand, if people irritate me, I can whack them upside the head. If I could only do that over the phone at work!

At least I’m off tomorrow. And I have ice packs. Still…ow

I agree with Nava too. Don’t the people who think up these amendments have lives? Cuz they sure do spend enough time telling other people how they should live theirs. I vote that we take over those silly states and rewrite their laws for them.

Sorry about the bum knee, snowbunny. How’s MamaT, by the way?

Wow, Muppet, if I’d known you didn’t have anything to do, I’d have shared some of my workload…

I’ve been cruising the net, reading post-election articles. There was some interesting stuffin the New York Times today and in an NPR e-mail. Also, I took a survey about work-life balance from a prof at my alma mater (I’ll get a $15 gift coupon for it - yay!) and talked to my brother for a while.

Now I’m tired and thinking I’ll crawl into bed with a book…

It’s almost Firday!!! Hooorayyyyyy!!!

GT

She wouldn’t be any older than some of our past presidents. Besides, if 60 is the new 50 now, maybe by the time she’s 69 (a fine age in and of itself) then 70 will be the new 50. Besides, age is a state of mind. If she keeps herself healthy, where’s the problem?

Well, our casual costume looks pretty good - black slacks, white man-tailores shirt, red & white striped BBS style vest, with sequins on the red stripes. I, of course, look hideous in it, but enough of the gals look good that it won’t matter about me. :expressionless:

**SnowBunny **-- ouch! :frowning:

I really hope that, failing immediate legal challenges, the New Democratic Machine comes out kicking in 2010 to get all the bigoted propositions and amendments taken back down again where they passed this time – it’s an off election, and maybe this time around the Dems will be better than the Pubs in GOTV for them (well, minus the cohort that apparently votes Dem + anti-gay… )

It’s already Friday morning here; kids have been dropped off at school, I’m back home having my coffee and need to get back out again soon to do the weekly food and groceries shopping… see y’all round later when you crawl out of bed!

Hey lunch, I am not even close to crawling into bed yet! I am in the midst of cleaning up my desk and the perimeter of the living room, as it detiriorated into man-clean, and my OCD won’t allow me to let it go any longer. Other than that, the last week+ has been good for debriefing from the vacation* visiting relatives. The temps here on the island are in the mid to lower 30’s and 20’s, and there is snow on the ground. I am not feeling tip top, so I will keep this short, with a nod to the election results in regard to President Elect Obama. I cried and made my kids watch both Mcain’s concession speech, as well as Obama’s acceptance speech, and when they went to bed I had skiffman run out and get me some sparkly wine to celebrate. I feel a real hope again for our country.

To everyone who needs them I have hugs enough to spare. I am going to try very hard to get back into regular posting, I know that I have been slacking, and I miss being on top of the daily posts. I say this in anticipation of the resolution making season approaching.

I need to finish my desk cleaning, and then maybe watch some tv whilst lounging on my comfy bed with all of my pillows. Ta for tonight, friends.

*vacation, ha! Running around all over, family drama, concern for my mom, not exactly a vacation.

Hey Kai!

I hold you personally responsible (towards the MMP) for Stevens, though – you likely didn’t vote early enough, and you obviously didn’t vote even **nearly **often enough! :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh no, no you don’t blame me for that evil, wizened old goat! I have been going on about him and his son Ben for years, and I did vote for Begich. In our local paper today it was reported that, despite the rest of the state’s misplaced loyalty, Kodiak Island voted against the felon.

I don’t think we have ever been here at the same time before, I hope that things are well with you and yours.

We’re here at the same time, all the time.

Just that when for you it’s AM for me it’s PM, and vice versa:smiley: ( I think)

Happy Firday, Mumpers! I am having a busy morning chasing around after a bunch of tutors who are teaching this afternoon - so far they’re behaving themselves so my pointy stick is remaining hidden.

Bumba - I saw Blue Man Group many years ago in Boston and really enjoyed the show so they’re definitely on my list. 'im indoors wants to see the Cirque du Soleil shows we weren’t able to see last time we were in Vegas (November 2007) so they’re on my list too.

Taxi - absolutely no chance of finding me on a golf course unless I got drunk and wandered in by accident trying to find my way home!

Pugs - we did a lot of sighseeing last year in Vegas, the highlight was the Grand Canyon Skywalk but this time he wants to go to the other side of the canyon and I want to do Death Valley so we’re taking two full days to fit those in. Other than that, we will probably just find things to do while we’re there. I was thinking of surprising him with a dinner cruise on Lake Mead 'cos the trip kind of marks our tenth year together. Heavens, an entire decade with him? How did that happen?

Too true! When you talk about dropping the kids off at school, I have just managed to get mine into bed. Which is where I am finally headed. :stuck_out_tongue: I hope that your day goes well, and maybe I’ll see you tomorrow. G’night.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Or afternoon to BooFae and Nava. Perhaps evenin’ to Dotty and Special1. Anywho, I am up and caffienatin’ and it’s definitely mornin’ here in the swamps.

Today I get to take a couple of phone calls and then go talk about it. Sounds like a ton o’ fun don’t it? Of course, that’s provided I get my user ID to log in to the system. I have every ID/password (hi gotti!) except that one.

Ok, definitely need more caffiene here… and brekkies. Tummy is rumbly.

Later Y’all!
