Took a nap instead of going to see a movie, and then watched Champion’s League soccer, so I’ll probably get dressed and go for a walk this evening. Dinner is still to be determined.
We have supped upon shrimpies 'n grits, steamed fresh broccoli, and cheddar cheese bizkits. YUM! Ice cream for later. Good is life! Flytrap the farfalle and broccoli looks like it would be good. I shall have to consider that. The farfalle I bought today has been earmarked for chikin 'n pesto sauce with 'shrooms.
Sunny hope all has gone well with the botox and house.
**FCD **wanted Momma’s French Toast Breakfast, so we supped at Cracker Barrel. I got the Weds special - a chicken/cheese/broccoli bake, with carrots on the side, and sliced apples. I’s stuffded. And tahred.
I’ve got to stay home Firday morning to meet our A/C service guys, so I’ll go in for a few hours on Saturday. I’ve got lots to do and I really can’t afford to take leave. At least I don’t have to get there stupid early on Saturday if I don’t want to.
Survived work. Had Chubby Tacos for lunch, took a long nap. Watching hockey, and making Chinese BBQ chicekn for dinner.
It’s not unusual. Well, a Bobby Flay recipe without chilies is…:dubious:
Could have used it this afternoon. Had a woman screaming “false advertising” and “it’s gonna cause controversy” because the Hersey bars weren’t part of the “Mars, M&M, Skittles, and Starburst” sale, but Snickers were.:smack::dubious:
Dinner is (not was, is, as in currently being eaten at 22:30) something from the freezer. Thought about stopping to pick something up on my way home but can one get anything decent to go at this time of night? However, I am having a bit of chocolate to wash it down.
On the subject of cleavers & knives, I got my new machete today. 22" long, 16½" blade. In the impenetrable plastic that probably needs a machete to open is a 1" piece of soft plastic, floating inside the packaging. I finally realize what it is. It’ a cover so one doesn’t accidentally poke themselves with the point.
Ummm, it’s a 16½" blade & you’re concerned that I might accidentally poke myself with the tip? :smack:
I’m up much later than usual. We had quite the thunderboomers and hard rain go through. It’s settled down now, thank goodness, I hope it isn’t raining early tomorrow when I have to walk the dog before work.
Morning, mumpers! I have been remiss in my mumping this week, haven’t had time to read this because we’ve had all sorts of drama at work with the start of full-scale written exams in the uni. So far we’ve had academic staff not turning up when they’re supposed to, supporting invigilators going to the wrong places, the exams office lost a set of images for an exam, laptops not having the right stuff on them, and problems getting invigilators booked for some of our individual sits. To top that off, the lady who runs the central exams office and has been doing so for years, is off sick, and her assistants are having a meltdown.
We have Saturday exams too, so I’ll be coming into the office for that afternoon but on the plus side I will get double the hours back again!
Weather’s lovely today, bright and sunny with a nice breeze. The lizard who sits beside me has her heater on under the desk, and I have the window cracked open a bit. I am not sure she’s even noticed yet
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 59 Amurrkin out and clear (just startin’ to get daylight) with a predicted high of 89 and N.O.S. for the day. Another day of open cave windows. However, a/c might need to crank up within the next few days. I prefer to put that off as long as possible cause once it’s cranked up it’ll stay cranked. Summer is a comin’ in in southwest Jawja! No huge plans for the day. Some household chores need tendin’ to but nuttin’ awful so there’s that. We shall sup upon baked enchiladas with all the fixin’s, refried beans, and rice. OLÈ!
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.
Had a terrible time falling asleep and kept waking all night. I’m not sure caffeine will be enough today… <yawn> But I made it to the office and I changed my password, so there’s that.
I’ll be working half a day tomorrow - after the a/c guys get done servicing our compressor - and I’ll come in for half a day on Sat. There’s just too much to do for me to take time off - especially since I have to take 2 or 3 days off in 2 weeks.
Another hot day in store, but a cooler, rainy weekend ahead, so there’s that. I threw some plant food on my azaleas yesterday - the rain should get it to the roots.
Morning all. Already 70F today on the way to the mid-80’s, so yeah, I think spring has definitively sprung here in N. Ali-bama. Again a pretty nothing day on tap, need to do some typing, coach soccer, and go to a meeting.
swampy, so far the A/C has stayed off, but if we make it into the 80’s today as expected, I just may have to start it up. Like you, once on it’s usually running until October.
boo fae, sounds like things are normal; everything is going crazy. Hang in there.
spidey, (he asks with some trepidation), why do you need a machete? Is the backyard weed problem that far out of control?
Need to get myself cleaned up here. All y’all take care.
