I'll start the MMP

Yay for Lucky Louie feeling better. <3

Alien, like Johnny, we had a swamp cooler when we lived on the high desert of Southern Colorado. It was efficient, but you just needed to leave it on and not mess with it.

metal mouse, I hope that your keys catch up with you before you get home. My red S10’s inaugural road trip was 400 miles north to my family reunion. When I got out of it, I locked the door out of habit. Problem was, my keys were in my purse on the front seat. :smack: It was 11:30 when I made the phone call to the local Chevy dealership. They told me to give them my VIN and they would have a key for me if I got there before 12:00 (it was Saturday and they closed then). They also told me to have ID. :smack: :smack: I told them that it was locked in the truck, but I would be driven there by my dad, who would vouch for me (he had bought a couple of cars from them) We made it there at 11:55. :stuck_out_tongue:

Irk sucketh with great alacrity this week. Thank goodness for a short irk week next week.

Bumba, I like my tamales hot.
**Red **& Ruble, prolly too late for this year, but save this link & get tix for next year. I was out shooting them a couple of nights this past week. The best part was the frog concert to go along with the light show in the natural area.

A swamp cooler would not work around here, it’s too humid. Half of making it feel better is REMOVING the water in the air.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 73 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of ONLY 89 (BRRR!) with a sixty percent chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse. We had a hyuuuuuuuuuuge tstorm durin’ the night. My bladder woke me up around twoish and it was really stormin’ out. I went back to sleep and woke about five and knew I would not be goin’ back to sleep, so up I am. We did have a power blip durin’ the night as the clocks on the stove, microwave, and coffee pot were blinkin’. No biggie plans for the day ahead. Quality cee-mint pond time will be considered provided the weather cooperates. No real need to leave da cave so I suppose we’ll just lounge around all day. Sounds good to me! Sup shall be ribs and whatever else is decided upon.

MetalMouse here’s hopin’ they find your house and car keys. ICK!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Happy Saturday!

Up way too early considering that I was up irking until almost 1am.
It was very busy last night and since there were people waiting in the queue, I stayed on way past my normal quitting time.

Then I woke up at my normal 6. I already feel like a zombie, but I couldn’t go back to sleep.
Since it is cool, I am heading outside to do some mulching.
Supposed to get up to 95 today.

I’m not going to stress it too much if we don’t get much done, since tomorrow morning is supposed to be in the 60s…
First thing is to get some laundry in, so I have a clean shirt when I go to pick up the sundaes.

Hope you get your keys MetalMouse.

Looks like we’ll have 60s on Moanday morning, so I may put off having **FCD **pull out the chain saw till then. I want to clear some of the big branches hanging out of the yard towards the street, and they’re too big for my loppers. I know how to use a chain saw - I just don’t like to. But I think he’ll be relieved that I delay this adventure.

I’ve got the dishwasher running and the ice maker is making ice. It’s not as convenient as the built-in (and broken) ice maker, but it’s loads faster. I can fill the bin to overflowing in the course of an evening rather than overnight.

The rest of the day will be laundry, the completion of mowage (maybe) and general tidying, I guess. I also got an email from BestBuy with codes for a free month of SlingTV and Showtime, so I’ll program those in. And I’ve got to get daughter to enter the password for Amazon Prime and Hulu. One thing I find odd - the channels our cable company sends in HD fill the screen, but the regular ones don’t. I need to figure out if it’s a setting. The manual is useless - it just shows where everything gets hooked up. You’ve got the find all other help on line. And Samsung doesn’t recognize Atlantic Broadband on their list of suppliers for this area - even tho it’s the only cable company available in this county. But it still works, so there’s that.

Anyway, Happy Saturday!

What a mensch!

Daughter and SIL cleared all their stuff out of my studio, so today, I’ll put it back together. First project - hand print/footprint tiles of Roxy and her cousin - they’ll be gifts for grandparents and my mom. I’ll need to get the clay softened up and cut to the right sizes. I see a messy day ahead.

Aaaaah, alien, I was under the impression that you were out in the desert.

Up, breakfasted, caffeinating, puppy crate cleaned, sheets and towels in the wash. After KP, I’ll shower and go get groceries. Not a whole lot shaking this weekend, for which I’m grateful. I’m feeling a little better that I did yesterday, the head is draining and the throat isn’t as sore, but I’ve pretty much lost my voice.

Afternoon. Irk was only a little irksome. Signed up for another extra day on Tuesday; trying to get as many extra days as I can while they’re around, as it doesn’t look like I’ll be finding another summer job that’ll work around the stuff I’m already signed up for.

I’ve agreed with the boss that when the new job starts in September, I’ll be doing holidays only at this place, as I expect to have even more skool irk to do at home next year. Most of the final grade comes from year 3, so that has to be my first priority, really. I ain’t going back to collej in my 30s to become a cleaner; the other job has potential to lead to bigger things, so…
Hope you get the keys back Metalmouse… erm… I may have a set of lockpicks if you get really stuck. Just sayin’.

Laundry is all done, in, and put away. **FCD **and I went out for a BBQ lunch, which means we probably won’t be wanting supper. On the way back, we stopped at Food Lion and I got 2 more bags of cherries - they are very yum and the season isn’t nearly long enough!!

Slowly but surely, we’re figuring out the smart TV - unfortunately, its remote won’t sync with our cable box, so we’re still stuck using 2 remotes. Dammit. First world problems, right?

The remote for the Onkyo receiver works with everything except the Comcast box.

dammit.

It’s raining, I didn’t know it was going to.

After it started I remembered I had clothes out on the line. We must have had a big gust of wind because the clothesline was knocked over, as were several of the plants that are still in their pots.

We didn’t get as much done as I had hoped this morning, but tomorrow is another day.
We got the center of the patio whacked and mulched, and beside the shed weeded and mulched. I still want to do around the deck, and under the crepe myrtle out front. I also want to do the side of the house but my son wants to put river rock there. We’ll see, because mulch is a lot cheaper than rock, and I want to plant some stuff there. However, rock will last a lot longer and maybe I’ll never plant stuff there because I don’t go on that side of the house, and it’s behind the fence and not visible from the street. It doesn’t have to be pretty.
There is so much brick around here, I think one of the people who lived here before wanted to brick in the entire back yard.
I think we woke up one of the neighbors when we were out there weed whacking at 7 am. Wasn’t too long after that though that I heard lawn mowers starting up all over the block. It was getting hot by 8.
I trimmed a bunch of stuff on the neighbor’s side, I hope she doesn’t flip when she walks outside, not that she ever goes out back anyway. I have a huge pile of stuff to load into the truck and take to the dump, and all of it is sitting on her patio.

You’d think with all this irk my yard would be looking good by now, but no, it still looks like a jungle.

I should have called before heading out to get the sundaes, I thought we were supposed to pick them up at the vet’s, I drove all the way over there to find out we were supposed to pick them up at a school going the other way from the house. I also didn’t know it was a ‘party’ with music and people gathered around talking and stuff. I just got our sundaes and left though, my son and Ripple were waiting in the truck.

No dog park today. Too hot earlier, raining now, and I have too much to do around here anyway.

Was hiking on the trail, got to an opening & looked up. That doesn’t look good so I pulled out my phone & looked at radar. Double-timed it back to the car. As I opened the door I heard the siren go off from the nearby golf course. Didn’t quite make it home but I was safely in the car for the bad winds & start of the rain.

Now need to think about dinner & iffn I wanna go shoot fireworks where I wanna shoot them from, given it’s only 88° w/ 65% hoomidity out there.

nut, the lock picks that you may (or may not) have would work for the house, but his car likely has a fob.

Bought groceries, came home, walked the dog, made the bed, put away the towels and fixed some supper. It was too hot to go to the dog park, so I’m working on a paying project in the studio.

Howdy all. Still don’t know about my keys, the train doesn’t arrive in Emeryville, CA (outside of SF) until 9pm tonight, so I’ll call them tomorrow. Not as upset as I was, I’ve come up with several alternatives and I always feel better when I have a plan in place…of course, them finding the keys would be even better.

I’m also in a good mood in that I spent the day in Rocky Mountain National Park, and that was fun and enjoying. Taught a 5-year old girl from Georgia who had never seen snow in her life that it was cold and wet. Climbed (well, halfway) up the same rock I had climbed as a teenager and a 30-something before (I could have made it up to the top again; just wasn’t really sure I could get back down safely). But 8 hours of looking at the Rockies made it a good day.

Thought about going to the Rockies baseball game tonight, but the cheapest ticket for a fair seat (near the right field four pole) was $45, and figure parking and eats, it would be close to $100, and I just don’t like baseball that much. Maybe the Colorado Springs Vibe (Rookie League team) might have cheap seats…

Tomorrow is a 40% chance of rain, so Museums, Coors Brewery, and maybe the Zoo are on the list.

All y’all take care.

Went to the VFW last night for steak Night. One of the guys was having a retirement party. I left early, because I had to be up early.:dubious: I’m afraid I may have contracted..adulthood. Went to the Hockey Summerfest today. Got to meet Hamilton The Pig again. Back to the grind tomorrow. And I need to return the new PC. The fan is dead.

: crosses fingers for the keys, Metalmouse :

Forgots to add, there was a muddy section with various things to step on so you didn’t get so muddy, a large, flat rock, a plank, & a log. I stepped on the log & it rolled a bit. My shoe went into the mud…& didn’t come out!
Yup, walked right out of it. Luckily, I stepped onto the large, flat rock & was able to turn around & pick it up & then put it back on w/o falling or getting a muddy sock.

Pelted her in the face with a snowball, didja. :dubious:
Dinner was chili.
