Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and clear (dark actually) with a predicted high of 79 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. This bein’ Moanday, I shall spiff da cave and maybe take care of some yahd irk since I have yet to do so. Sup shall be grilled chikin sallit with garlic cheesey bread. This weekend we shall have the first official mowage of the church yahd. I’ll probably mow on Firday to get the front part done as on Sattidy the annual yahd sale shall occur. I promised a couple folks I would help them get their stuff over to the church this week and that is just as far as my efforts with that shall go. I do not like yahd sales and won’t be helpin’ on Sattidy.
CupCakes Jawja has two Diocese, The Diocese of Jawja and The Diocese of Etlanner. We are in the Diocese of Jawja and the cathedral is in Savannah. Our current Bishop is retirin’ due to health reasons (he’s had a couple minor strokes) and is actually two years younger than me.
OK, now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day. Rah.
Slow start to the day - hope things pick up. I had a tough time getting moving, as did Roxy. In fact, she fell asleep in the car on the way, plus the sitter was apparently asleep when I got there. So, yeah, it’s Moanday.
Blurf. It’s a lovely spring morning though, with a bit of sun and a bit of breeze.
Happy Moanday, everyone! I have a sore throat and a stuffy head this morning, didn’t sleep very well either 'cos of said throat and head problems. We have three people off in the office today, one on long-term sick leave and two with cold/flu symptoms. I should be off too but I have too much to finish here so I can’t afford to be ill.
Mum’s got a lung biopsy on Wednesday and needs me to be with her, so I have to go over to hers in the evening tomorrow as her procedure is at 9.30am. They had scheduled it for 3.50pm which was ideal for me to get over there on Wednesday morning but they rang her and made it much earlier so now I have to shoot over there on Tuesday night instead. I’ll be there until Thursday, provided she is ok after the procedure then home and back at work on Firday.
Honestly, I could do with taking a bunch of work with me and doing it while I’m hanging around at the hospital but I expect I’ll just read instead. Might do the decent thing and take my laptop just in case I can fit in a few hours of something but I doubt I’ll get the chance.
Another week, another nutsy Monday. The last few Mondays, Romeo has worked the day shift, so he was able to get the kids picked up and fed before swim class. It was a luxury I had grown accustomed to. But he’s back working dinners, so I have to rush out of work, get the kids, throw some McDonald’s at them, and get two squirmy kids (one of whom is still in swim diapers) into swimsuits and off to swim classes. Mondays… once I start, I don’t stop until I put the kids to bed.
On the more pleasant side, Romeo and I were thinking of going to Vegas for a long weekend to celebrate out 10th anniversary this winter. I put it on hold after the whole plumbing fiasco, but we might still be able to make it work. Still very, very much in the planning stages. The discount airlines don’t even have flights booked out that far yet… at least not at discount rates!
Morning all. Leaving for the library in about 45 minutes to work on the soccer stuff (too many kids, not enough coaches, and the season’s games are supposed to start this weekend). Can’t do it at home, too many distractions (the internet being the primary distraction), so I’ll get it done there and then partake of JJ’s #7 and chips.
Rest of week will be soccer along with modest home cleaning and the April grocery re-stockage.
BooFae, hope you get to feelin’ better and Mum comes through with flying colors on the biopsy.
Swampy, I’m not big on yard sales either, I donate or toss it.
Juliet, hope you and Romeo can do the 10th anniversary thing.
Usually I’m the only one who does something like that come a bad toe cramp. Which I had last night ------ but not a good pre-highjack question in my brain. Something that seemed to trouble by Swampykins as well.
Howdy Y’all! I did yahd irk this mornin’. Go Me! Also I vacuumed and dusted da cave. Then I showered and had a sammich. I can do the rest of da cave spiff tomorrow. I think nappage might occur anon.
gigity after midnight wherever one might be is fair game to start a new MMP.
rube I shortened your nickname! After I posted I realized I didn’t put in a pre-hijack question but that didn’t worry me. It’s the MMP freestyle this week!
BooFae prayers and good thoughts for your mom’s procedure goin’ well. Caregivin’ is not fun, so if you get a chance to goof off a bit, I say go for it and forget about irk.
I’d be more impressed if you vacuumed the yahd!
Got a little cut on inside of my middle finger, about paper-cut sized; don’t know how I got it. Didn’t even notice it until the little piece of skin that was not 100% attached rubbed up against my index finger. It doesn’t ‘hurt’ at all but is annoying against my index finger & is too small to either snip or bite off.
Prehaps I should amputate…at Flytrap’s neck.
Years ago I made a Word document with the lyrics and guitar chords for many, many songs. I’d get a guitar, open the document, and amuse myself. Mrs. L.A. isn’t a fan of my musical incompetence, so I haven’t touched my guitars in years. On the weekend, I pulled out my old Takamine classical guitar, went out onto the deck, tuned it, and tried to remember songs. I’d forgotten some chords for a couple I wanted to play. I looked on my computer for my ‘song book’ file and couldn’t find it. I looked on my old PowerBook G4, which had a hard drive crash at some point and not all of the files were recovered, and it wasn’t there. I was pretty sure that the file was on my MacBook Pro, and that it must exist on my PowerBook G4. Maybe it’s on the hard drive from my old PC? I don’t know. The hard drive is in the storage unit somewhere.
Johnny, I feel ya. I had compiled a guide for a video game I was playing, after combing online forums and from my own experience so I could get all kinds of bonus stuff on my second play through… then the computer fried. I was so bummed.
I found Mr. Bojangles, Misirlou, I Should Have Known Better, and Let’s Do It, plus a couple of harmonica Blues licks, in documents on my work computer. I’ve emailed them to me.
Okay. Here’s a question. How many of you have a Paypal account?
I’ve had one for close onto 20 years, as I used to sell stuff (mostly model train things) on Ebay. Well, I quit selling things years ago but still bought things on Ebay, and elsewhere using my credit card over paypal. Mostly older, no longer produced train stuff, or other things I couldn’t find locally.
Last month I tried to buy some little trinket from Ebay and Paypal said my payment couldn’t be processed. That’s all. No explanation as to why. I tried to enter my credit card manually, but the ‘button’ to go to that screen wouldn’t respond. Nada. Zilch.
Poking around, the onliest thing I could find that might be holding me up is that I no longer have a bank account associated with my paypal account. But I don’t need one to buy stuff, just to sell stuff. Besides, I am loathe to put any banking information out there on the innerwebz. And paypal doesn’t have the bestest reputation for guarding your info.
Oh well. Amazon is still willing to take my money.
Being a little bouncy today- went to go play with tiny plants, after a few weeks not having time. The lady who runs the place told me that they’re shortly going to have a job going, in almost exactly the area I was hoping to look for work in after my course. It’s part time, and the hours would work with my course.
Went to go talk with the potential boss, and it turns out both tiny plant lady and my course leader (different branch of the same college, the horticulture staff all know each other) had already suggested me as a candidate… It’s not been advertised yet, and I don’t think it’s quite an ‘all other applications will be filed in the trash’ situation, but she said they’d really prefer to get someone the staff already know… Trying not to get too carried away, 'cos obviously things could not work out, but I’m pretty happy
And I’ll abuse your package. Wait -------- it doesn’t sound quite right worded like that does it?
We have a PayPal but the Old Wench set it up (and uses it) and I don’t remember the details. I do remember thinking them slightly anal in the information they required.
Mrs. L.A. said she needed to go look at her truck. She was gone an awfully long time, so I put some jeans and shoes on to look for her. She was walking about halfway up the hill from the beach – with Tonka following beside her. He didn’t go all the way to the beach; but when I saw them, it looked like Mrs. L.A. was out walking the cat.
