…once again. After losing their last three games of the regular season, the Vikings won their playoff game yesterday, and looked good in doing it(well compared to the prevoius 3).
It is becoming an annual thing for this team to look good and to get thier fans to think, Hey maybe this is the year, and then crash and burn.
Me, being a born sucker, is buyin’ it. I can’t help it, it’s a sickness up here. I’m not jumpin’ on the bandwagon, I have been on it from the beginning of the season and will ride this thing till it ends.
It’s just that when these things crash, the recovery time takes a few weeks, and I end up not wanting to watch the Super Bowl, because it brings up bad feelings.
Living in Minnesota has frozen my brain, I’m sick, can’t stop that feeing, that urge, to yell GO VIKINGS!!!
WOOOHOOOO!
I, too, have caught the fever from imthjckaz. Today will determine who and where they play next week. If they make it to the Bowl this year, we might even have a party!
All Minnesota Vikings Doper Fans would be invited! And probably other people too. But that remains to be seen.

And here’s a bitter Saints fan come to pee in the punch. Bastards.
Sorry about that, UncleBeer. Well, sorta kinda sorry.
But somebody’s got to lose.
And Purple people have paid losers’ dues.
Some halos went spinnin’
while Vikings were winnin’
And now Saints are singing the blues.

You can give us the raspberries if we lose next week.

If the party’s held anywhere near the cities, count me in.
I’m not much of a sports fan, but watching folks who know what they are doing play their sport well is always a good thing. Not to mention the fun of meeting other folks from the board.

Don’t be so bitter UncleBeer, the aints were in the game all the way up to the kickoff. They did have a good year, if they could keep everyone healthy they will be a team to reckon with.
Quite frankly, I would like to see the Eagles win today, just so that the Vikings would be playing at home.
And then…oh no, here we again.
I read this morning that Red McCombs wants to play the Eagles next weekend.
Fine, I just hope he expects to lose to them, too.
Go Eagles!!!
I just thought I’d pop in and do one of the most unZenster like things you will ever see…
GO RAIDERS!!!
Woo Hoo! These chaps are one game away from the Stuporbowl. Whatta gas!
I will now resume more Zensterish behavior.
Is St. Cloud close enough for you to the Twin Cities for a Super Bowl party? That’s where imthjckaz and I live, and we’d be having it at our house.
----:eek:/

Zenster is a Raiders fan!
Oh, God… I don’t know who to root against. I’d have to boycott on principle.
Ah, well, the Cowboys are about due for a transitional period, anyway. And if Red McCombs has his way, Russ and I will be rooting for the Vikings in San Antonio in a couple years.
Robin
By the way, dublos, are you interested in the next Upper Midwest Dopefest, which actually will be in the Twin Cities this time?

The Vikings are the best team in the NFL season. I always ignored their shitty play for the past couple weeks. But they didn’t fail me this week, they beat the Saints. Next week they will beat whoever they play, whether it is the Giants or the Eagles. So all I have to say is that the Vikings are going all the way!!!
EVERYONE CHEER THE VIKINGS ON NEXT WEEK…
GO VIKINGS!!!
As you can tell by PuRpLe PrIdE’s comments, parents can poison their childrens minds, now he is sick.
It looks like the Vikings are going to have to play the Giants in the Meadowlands.
I just hope 7 days are long enough for them to put roof on that thing, or at least to get a better brand of green mud to play on.
I know my brother in-law is still smarting from the last time these teams played in the playoffs. The Vikings rallied from a 19-10 deficit to steal a victory 23-22, I believe the score was.
ps. If you didn’t know, PuRpLe PrIdE is a product of my loins.
At least the Giants’ victory gives me someone to root for
Robin
Not meaning to step on Gazoo’s toes, I’m making some predictions on the AFC and NFC championship games.
Vikings 24 at Giants 13 Viking team speed, even on a poor surface, will be just enough to get by the Giants.
Ravens 10 at Raiders 27 The Raiders overall balanced attack will wear down the Ravens. If the Ravens special teams play like they did against the Titans, this game will be closer.
Just my unbiased predictions.
Just need to pop in here and say that the Vikes will lose next Sunday against the Giants.
Guaranteed.
Spider Woman
Yep, that could be fine depending on when you schedule the party. I used to have a contract up there, but luckily my company found something closer to home before the snow started falling.
It might mean I say good night a little earlier for the long drive home, but that’s ok with me.
And yes, I’ve been following the upper midwest dopefest thread too
-Doug
Hmmm.
I should mention that I’ve been a fan of the Vikings for quite a while now. I say I was because it’s been hard for me to follow them lately.
We have the ever increasingly ego maniac as the head coach. A coach that seems to expect the ego of his to be passed on to all of his players. “We’re too good to have clock management. We can beat anyone anyway we feel fit.” By the way, wasn’t it Denny who proposed that taunting and excessive celebration should be punished? Or was that only when teams were doing it against the Vikings?
And then on top of that we have an owner who will use the stadium issue to take the team down to Texas. “Listen, give me a stadium deserving of an top notch team or I’ll move. I want the best of the best. Can’t do it? Well, I have no choice but to move the team to a more profitable market.”
Sorry, it’s going to happen.
I’m not a gloomy Gus by nature, but it’s damn hard to be completely behind this team when you take the things going lately.
I’ve been a Vikings fan all my life. Therefore, I must add that I have no hopes for this year. Year after year after year, I say, “This is the season”. I’ve given up. Never again will I say that. So, I’ll follow them until the end, and if they lose, it’s just one more playoff loss on the pile. Sorry for the downer. GO VIKES!!!
I hate to be the one to have to break the bad news (well, no I don’t, but I can be nice and pretend), but the 'Queens lost 41-0 to the Giants. So, once again, no Viking Super Bowl. (oh, wait, sorry
)
It would’ve been a great party, tho.
