Oh, and as for favoritism I don’t think I implied favoritism and if so then I didn’t express myself well enogh. What I meant to state was that it was apparent to me that you lumped me in with Scratch more because we agreed and used the same question (i.e.: Slavery legal/moral, etc.)to illustrate the point, but not the same tactics (which I stated in here that I didn’t agree with. Specifically the name thing.).
What I did imply was your apparent sympathy for Guano, which I also said was understandable as he was in the process of painting himself into a tight corner and admittedly being ganged up on by myself and Scratch. Not that I feel bad for ganging up on him, or joining in against his stated opinion. I was stating that I understood why you might sympathize with him in that particular predicament.
In fact my only problem with you is that you did not make a distinction between any of my statements and those of the others mentioned in previous references and seemed to allocate equal blame (I won’t bother to contend the concept of blame here) to all parties which I feel unjust and inappropriate not to mention beneath the station of one who TMU is impartial. Since you imparte equal blame to me in your original statement in this thread and point to behavior by all three of us that was worthy of Pit banishment I felt/feel you should back it up. Again, I used the word dickhead in quotes once only. I repeated a sensible argument in order to illustrate a valid argument (albiet the argument had been stated but the atempt was one to elicit ANY response be it a retraction or an assertion).
Finally when I notice that I am mentioned in a thread and come in to read where/how I am mentioned I see you mention me almost in passing with nothing particular to say regarding me other than to say that I held one third responsibility for a debacle which may or may not have really been worthy of the name. To which I make a somewhat joking response that if I am goingto be mentioned in the pit I would like to be flamed or at least have it illustrated specifically why I am in here and mentioned with equally nefarious overtones as two others who had more in common with one another in form (if not substance) than either with me. You took this as a cue to come off high handed and alltogeather put-out by my comment and inquiry which is frankly silly. After all, don’t act like you have something better to do and then bitch about what you read. Had you truly anything better to do then I would presume you would be doing it. This is the pit, things posted here are generally done so because of their lack of consequence and because the person posting (like me) wants to rant and ramble on. If anyone (including myself) posts in the Pit and expects some great revalation to come of it then he or shee is foolish in a way only exceeded by those who read posting placed here with the expectations of such revalations.
I never actually expected you to go into any detail in why you made the minor “oops” of equating my contribution to the aforementioned thread that you did rahter than to say that “the three of us took some part in the decimation of that thread” (you see how nice that is? Then we all get to think it was the other two’s fault), I simply wished to begin my first name-entry into this arena with a bit more bite than as a side-dish, which is why I asked you to make certain to at least try to be a bit more vulgar if you must mention me in here.

Nice to check the threads of some of my favorite people or involving my favorite people (Doob, Nen, oldscratch) and see that they’ve been pissed in by techchick. Erroneously, in 2 cases; playing mod and mistakenly chewing out Doob and Nen for mis-posting in the Pit when they were in MPSIMS.

Who you associate with is not my problem…what my problem is with people who think that it’s okay to act like old scratch did in the MPSIMS thread and everyone rushes to protect him. He was a fucking asshole in that thread, willing to pull into the situation any shred of an argument that was NOT appropriate for MPSIMS. Don’t blame me for pointing this out. old scratch was out of line in that thread.
He was clearly out of line, the Mods should have warned him on this, and should have done more to ensure the MPSIMS thread didn’t turn into a Pit thread. Well as much as I dig our mods and admins, this is one area that they failed. They allowed some innocent and real things become a fucked up debate over an innocent comment.
No I don’t totally agree with what GuanoLad said but I also don’t believe I have any reason to go and give him shit for his beliefs.
God, some of you can take a comment and twist it so that that the comment looks worse than a Nazi in a Jewish camp. It just amazes me sometimes.

I came in late, but to me the bottom line seems clear.
Oldsctratch completely buried and destroyed Guano’s arguments, that I think we can all agree on. Sure his methods and intentions may have been questionable, but that doesn’t change the fact that he won the argument, by any standard in my book.
I used to compete and judge in debating back in my school days. We covered various questionable topics, and coming out of the dabate as the winner can be especially difficult when you have the set moral standard against you (for instance: drugs are bad, mmkay?).
Had Oldstratch started this Pit thread, I would have more sympathy with poor ol’ Guano. Birdshitlad (what’s up with that Guano handle anyway?) probably didn’t know what he was getting in to when he opened this discussion.
His comment on law equaling morality was probably what REALLY killed his argument, I mean that’s just… just… I don’t even have a word. THINK SOUTH AFRICA, THINK SLAVERY, JUST THINK FOR GOD’S SAKE!
That doesn’t mean the laws against drugs are definitely wrong, but it sure as hell doesn’t mean that any law is necissarily a just and morally acceptable one.

How is it that people don’t find regulating what other people put in their mouths more repugnant than the ingestion itself? Drug use is a consensual crime which means that it isn’t a crime at all. It is specious to talk on the one hand (usually in lofty patriotic rhetoric) about this great country based upon the pursuit of happiness and then turning around and incarcerating people who want to do something you don’t like.
