cause it would have sucked ass. Has anyone seen the marketing campaign that Comedy Central has been using? It blows. I just hate it. They have done a horrible job. They could have done so much better but it pails in comparison to what Cartoon Network was doing. I just…ugh!
I’m not too concerned with the marketing. The show already has a huge following. CC’s aim with the “Future is now” campaign seems to be just to tell the fans of the show “Look at me, I’m great! Yo, Futurama is on this channel now.”
I don’t see why the hate for CC’s Futurama marketing campaign, although it’s not as edgy as Cartoon Network. It tells me what time it’s on, so it’s all good.
It is sort of jarring to see a new look to the advertising. Especially now that it’s up on the screen during the show.
My hate is that it is stupid. IMHO, borderline retarded. One of their catch phrases especially irritates me.
“The future is a giant clam bake, and you are the clam!”
Just a bunch of stupid shit like that. It’s nothing like what the show is about. It’s just irritating. It’s the same mindless drool that comedy central simply recycles and it doesn’t give the show justice.
Thank god it already had a following because comedy central prevented this show’s popularity if it were new. And I think that’s my biggest irritation with CC. If I didn’t know just how wonderful and awesome Futurama was before it came to CC, I certainly wouldn’t know it after. CC’s marketing would have effectively made me uninterested before I watched a single episode.
They’ve taken a great steak dinner, served with all the fixings, and presented it on a trash can lid.

I was VERY pissed the other night at the end of “Where No Fan Has Gone Before” because they chopped the end credits. That episode has special end credits lampooning Star Trek and they’re hilarious. Instead, they started the next show while playing the tiny, tiny credits in the bottom corner.
Screw you CC!
