I'm gonna have to pit all you butt-hurt snowflakes

Nitpick: that was Mark Slackmeyer.

In the midst of all this accusation that we libruls are just feeling ‘butt-hurt’ because Team R beat Team D, we should take a moment to consider the very real butt-hurt on the part of the winner and his henchmen over the paltry crowd size at the inauguration (which they’re in full denial mode over) and the dishonesty of the media.

I especially liked press secretary Sean Spicer’s delusional remarks:

Good Lord, it was just the afternoon of Trump’s first full day as President, and already his press secretary is losing it.

Now what were you guys saying about liberal butt-hurt again?

Although the idea you reply to is a stupid idea, the assertion here is false.

There is no good support that large amounts of the aide for the Ethiopian relief was diverted or that the starving only got a fraction. These are lies repeated in certain circles.

the criticism that is more founded is the aide program helped prop up the very nasty regime and at the same time the way it was implemented tended to undercut the local food production, being distributed at times in competition to the local farmers, driving a cycle of the impoverishment…

for this there is some real argument and the idea of just dropping in gifts is indeed a very stupid one, but repeating badly informed lies is not useful

Almost none of this happened yesterday, and it’s always been a tiny, tiny minority of protesters and liberals who do it. Why are you focusing so much on something that it so small? It’s worth a mention, like “the very small amount of violence should be condemned”, and it is condemned by most prominent liberals (and most liberals on this board) I read about, but then they move onto the issues they’re concerned about.

Yeah, I think you’re purposely being obtuse here.

In fact, DC police did not report a single arrest associated with yesterday’s march. That is 500,000 people protesting and not one arrest. You get 500,000 people together for anything and there’s usually at least one jackass in the bunch doing something stupid.

The Republicans need to marginalize the protests because the charge that Trump is not a legitimate president touches a nerve. Deep down, many of them know that there is something very wrong with him and it is scary as shit to admit.

And those women braved the horror and violence of Carnage America, what with the roving bands of drug-addicts and savage urbans! What was the latest casualty count from the flooded Emergency Rooms?

If you want to see real butt-hurt that a gallon of Preparation H couldn’t cure, just check out the new regime’s first press conference, starring “Baghdad Sean” Spicer.

Sean Sphincter.

You realize that, every year, there’s the March for Life held in Washington, DC (and a few other cities both nation and worldwide), and there are typically no arrests (well, except for a few pro-choice demonstrators who usually get locked up for assault charges), correct?

“People who didn’t vote for Donald Trump protest Donald Trump winning the election” - News at 11!

I’m not exactly sure why you think us Republicans believe the idea that Trump isn’t a “legitimate” president touches a nerve, because it doesn’t. He won the election based on the criteria needed to win, and he’s now the President-- much to the consternation of those on the left. Despite the protesting, rioting, whining, beating up of Trump supporters, calls for violence and demands for recounts from the left, that’s not going to change.

I can’t help but think you’re projecting your own feelings onto others.

No. No, I don’t know that.

Again, I can’t help but think you’re projecting your own feelings onto others.

You can’t help it? Well, just keep trying, you get points for that. Also, Participation Ribbon.

The subject of this subthread is large turnout events. Please try to keep up with the class.

Just FYI, the idea that I replied to was genocide.

Now, while genocide is a easier and more practical idea, I am against it. I am assuming that you are not taking the genocide stance, but a naive reading of the exchange would indicate that you think that aid is a stupid idea, while you are giving shade to genocide.

Now, while my “idea” is largely tongue in cheek (as evidenced by the marshmallow comments), I do find it vastly preferable.

OMG opened the negotiation with kill everyone, I countered with give everyone free stuff. I hope to find a compromise in the middle.

I do feel that as long as what we are shipping over to other countries is more misery and suffering than things that will improve their lives, they will never be stable, and they will probably continue to resent us.

The March for Life in DC, in recent years, has garnered somewhere between 500K and 600K or so attendees, not including the Walk for Life west coast, any of the ancillary marches that happen in other US cities or any marches that happen outside of the US.

But you knew that, I’m sure.

Yes, clearly the fact that you used a quarter of a page to respond to a one paragraph post shows that it has no affect whatsoever on you.

I could have typed a half of a page, but I decided to cut about half of it out.

You’re welcome.

You should be a spokesman for Trump. You’ll fit right in because your lies are just as transparent.

FYI, from the 2016 DC March for Life site: “Tens of Thousands of Pro-Lifers March for Life”

No,* you’re* welcome.

But to be fair it could have been tens of “tens of thousands,” “tens” being the implied adjectival modifier.

You’re right, of course. In the era of Trump, all lies are automatically one order of magnitude greater.

Clearly, you must respond within minutes of my every post because these criticisms have no resonance for you whatsoever. You are my puppet, you are Trump to my Putin. Dance.
