I'm heading over to the Infinite DVD shop. Anybody want anything?

Oh! I almost forget…can you find a copy of Rankin-Bass’ animated War of the Worlds? They really did Jeff Wayne’s musical justice—the “Thunder Child” sequence in particular, I gotta say, even if they took some liberties, still gets me as much as it did when I was a kid. :frowning:

For some reason the quote function isn’t picking up the middle comment in post #98, so I’ll just thank **BrotherCadfael **for his clarification in re “Frank’s Place.” Much appreciated.

Leonard, parts 1 through 5 would be nice.

I would watch the hell out of this.

While you’re at it, bring along Ray Harryhausen’s 1950s version of war of the Worlds. The jerky way the Martian Tripods move due to the animated “strobing” effect looked so good that George Lucas ripped it off for the Empire Strikes Back.
And, as long as we’re on the subject of animated movies, I’d like to see Willis O’Brien’s pre-King Kong epic, Creation.

And what I
d really like a copy of is Richard Williams’ labor of love, the classically-animated Nasruddin. I understand that he came close to losing complewte control over it, and that the film might have ended up butchered, it’s best parts thrown away, and the work completed by utter hacks

Seasons 3-6 of Sports Night, please. Especially Dan and Kim’s wedding episode at the end of season 5.

Same here.
Also, the complete versions of Welles’ The Smiler with the Knife, It’s All True, Don Quixote, The Merchant of Venice, King Lear, Deep Calm, The Other Side of the Wind, The Big Brass Ring, The Cradle Will Rock, and the Criterion restoration of Chimes at Midnight.

Oh, how about the Constantine movie that was actually based on John Constantine?

The one with the old, blond BRIT in the title role?

David Bowie? Or the one with Sting? Both awesome.

I’d still like to see the Rutger Hauer version. And I hear that Viggo Mortensen was pretty good, too.

Psh. Like you could find a good British actor who even looks the part.

Concentration: The Series 1958 - 1972. I have the VHS tapes but they take up so much room!
