I joined SDMB waaaaay back in the late 90s. It was the first message board to which I posted. I’d read the books and wanted to get the column in our paper, but no dice.
I don’t post much. I think I have about 500 posts in the past 6 years, I’m not much for talking, but I love to hear others’ opinions and ideas.
This screen name used to mean something to me, but it doesn’t anymore. I had this name in chat and messengers and everwhere, but this is the last place online I still use it.
I never developed an identity here, so no one will miss me for my wit, humor, snark, or whatever people with identities have.
Life got confusing and painful about a year after I joined, so I stopped posting for a long time, dealing with things.
I’m married to a wonderful man who is just as smart, snarky and funny as I am, we’ve decided to have some smart-ass kids to fight ignorance.
Be safe, have fun and watch out for trolls. Unless you are one, then watch out for mods.
Are you ok? You don’t exactly sound ok.
The board will be less without you. No, I don’t know you, but you sound pretty cool.
Well, if you must go, have a happy and fulfilling life. tentative little wave bye…
Just because you didn’t post much, doesn’t mean you aren’t a doper. You’ll be part of the “family” as long as you don’t become a dick like some people tend to. Besides, it’s only a few bucks. Skip out on McDonalds for a day and the subscription is paid.
Seems that your original pit thread was bitching about people who were leaving because they were in a huff about _______ (no need to rehash it).
This thread has nothing to do with that. So yes, this is an asshole move on your part. That, or a chance to toot your own horn with a link to your very own thread that you started all by your very own self.
Sure you won’t change your mind? You do sound nice … and I sometimes go for weeks and weeks without reading or posting, but I still have to hang around. I’ve been a member for a long time too! And probably don’t have much of an identity. But, I like a lot of the people here and would get too curious about their lives if I let my subscription go.
Either way, take care! Think about us every once in a while!
