I'm off to Colorado...

…in 4 days.

The Breckenridge area, more specifically. Besides skiblading (what an AWESOME sport), what else is there to do in that small resort town?

I’m actually going with JBERGES. Unlike our Vegas trip in which I broke myself a few days before and couldn’t go, we are both healthy and expecting much fun.

Plus, we know a resort owner…comp’d on EVERYTHING, except food and airfare. Free lift tickets to the slopes there, Aspen, and Copper Mountain, 2 BR condo, the works. It’s gonna be so much fun. But for now, life is that annoying time between now and when I leave…

Ah Breckenridge, my favorite area. I will actually be up there over Thanksgiving but just for the day. My brother has a vacation home on Peak 9.

You can ice skate on Maggie Pond (assuming it’s frozen over, been a warm dry season so far.)

Breckenridge Brewery is on the south end of town. They have decent food and great beer.

There used to be a good pasta bar north of that about oh, four blocks on the same side of the street.

There’s tons to do. If you can, make it into Dillion and go to the Snake River Saloon. They used to have a live band every weekend.

If you like to shop there are a ton of specialty shops and in Silverthorne, they have the Outlet shops.

Up at Beaver Run Resort (base of Peak 9) they used to have a fun-as-hell nightclub. We had a blast there, but that was back in 1989 or so.

Fatty’s Pizza is pretty good and there’s an Irish pub next door (if I remember correctly.)

I haven’t really been in Breckenridge since 1995. My dad sold his house up in Blue River (just outside of Breck) so I don’t get much of a chance to go. My bro doesn’t want my dog in his so I just stay on the front range.

Have fun and BTW, Aspen is about a 2 hour drive from Breckenridge, are you sure he wasn’t talking about Vail?

Oh and I hope that enipla sees this thread, he lives just south of Breck over the pass. He probably could give you a better idea of the happening things.

Actually, I totally forgot about Vail…we are getting passes to that too…but we were gonna take the shuttle to Aspen for a day…possibly overnight, not sure. Unless we get too lazy or don’t want to drive that far. Then we’ll just hang out on the local slopes.

For Thanksgiving, I’ll be out of Breck…just outside of it though. The owner of the Tonti resort lives on the outskirts…so I’ll be hanging at her rich house, not in the condos. And in between my first post and this one I found out that she is so excited to have us over that she is stocking us up with food…it gets better every minute, and closer too.

Just don’t expect great snow this early in the season. As Techchick said, it’s been a warm season here in Colorado so far and a number of ski areas aren’t even going to open on Thanksgiving as they usually do.

But the three you mentioned are (a good portion of it will be man-made snow, however), but they will be limited as to the numbers of trails, slopes and bowls available.

If it stays as warm as it has been, you might consider one of the four or five golf courses around each of the ski areas you mentioned. Honestly, awfully good bicycling weather yesterday.

TV

We’re are not all as fortante as you, moronmountain! YOU try spending the holiday in a smelly old house! I’ll be sure to think of you surrounded by GORGEOUS mountains, while I’m sitting watching my family argue about who is letting the world go to pieces…

Hey…look…a post relating to me!

Who was gonna tell me about it?

Here in Pueblo it was nearly 70 in the sun. This time last year we had snow.
