As I’ve told a few dopers, I’m going on vacation today until roughly next thursday, at which point I’ll be moving in to college. That Friday I’ll be helping frosh move in and Saturday I have a club meeting that might well last all day. Sunday will most likely be spent sleeping.
So don’t expect to see me much after around 4 pm EST, if that. If you need to email me, check my profile. Keep in mind I probably won’t answer until VERY late August. Otherwise, I’m outta here.

I probably shouldn’t post to my goodbye thread, but I am going to a cabin in the mountains/woods in WVA with a satellite dish . . . but no PC. No phone line, either, except the ceullular my mother has. And we bring our own water. It’s the strangest “roughing it” I’ve ever seen.
Romney, to be exact. Near Winchester, and in Hampshire County, I believe (or damn near it). Not half an hour across the WVA/VA line, IIRC.
Damnit, I didn’t choose to go on vacation. I’ve been here home alone (with my german shepherd) since Sunday at 7. I managed to get three days alone. I will try to have a decent vacation . . . family vacations, when you have three living sibs (all basically teens) and two active dogs, things can be interesting. Esp. considering no PC.
You’ll most likely “see” me Friday August 25 or Saturday August 26. If need be I will make a cameo appearance at some point in August if I don’t think my schoolwork and academic team have room for y’all (which I dearly hope will not be the case).
Please . . . don’t cry on my account. It makes me so sad.

etgaw1: where do you live? There are a decent number of houses in the area up for sale, I believe . . . if you honestly want more information I’ll try to get you an URL or two when I get back . . . if I remember (I make no promises).
CanadianSue: it’s great. We use it on weekends, since we own the cabin . . . my mother swears she’s only sane because of it.

We’ll just be that much more happy when you get a chance to come back. And believe me, I know how college can bite a chunk out of your life. Especially if you’re serious about it.

I knwo you were kidding. It still saddens me to be leaving so many of my friends . . . especially since I had thought for a bit that I might be meeting some of them in a week and a half. Hell, I’m getting misty-eyed thinking about it.
College doesn’t so much take a chunk out of my life as it makes me prioritize. And I have to learn that college comes before SDMB.:eek:
As for “Harold and Maude” . . . I’ll see what I can do. I’m not promising anything. I haven’t gotten B2S gifts . . . ever, IIRC. I’d rather have you my age and living in/near DC, though;)
