This Onion headline cracked me up so much that I now know I am going straight to Hell:

There is something I am not quite getting about The Onion through all of this. Their headlines are too closely matching the reality that happened before the issue was even published. For instance, Cindy Sheehan has already gone apeshit about troops being in New Orleans and has called for their withdrawal. That makes this article not so much a satire as just a minor exageration of reality.
Likewise, The Onion ran a story right after Katrina called something like ‘I’m Goin’ to Put these Supplies in My Car and Drive them There My Own Damn Self’. Cute headline. Problem is was that there were several real news stories that day about people doing just that. I read their headline thinking it was another version of a real one I already read.
I think that reality is imitating The Onion’s usual level of ridiculousness a little too closely and they are having a hard time trying to crank it up a notch.
Well, I’ve always preferred to party with the sinners, than cry with the saints.

Yeah, that one made me simultaneously cringe and laugh. Another good one from the Onion folks.
If so this has been going on for some time. I’m too lazy to link to the SD thread about it, but last year they did a spoof of the Gilette corp CEO frothing at the mouth & demanding a 5-bladed razor, even if they had to “stick the fifth blade in sideways.” Apart from the orientation of the fifth blade, The Onion nailed the introduction of the 5-blade razor and the company who introduced it a year in advance!
Those guys are damned good.
