Getting a bigger mortgage will cost more interest over the course of the loan. However, another option is take the larger mortgage & then make an extra principal payment = the excess (ie. you want $50m, their minimum is $75m. Take mortgage for $75m & then immediately payoff $25m) Just make sure there isn’t any prepayment penalty.
I wanted to keep it low because I am 55 and my career is not on the upswing.
Also because years ago when I was sick and couldn’t work I ended up losing my house. I worry if I get sick again, or lose my job.
When I was young and stupid I never worried about those things, now I do and maybe I shouldn’t.
Even though the online calculators say I can afford x number of dollars a month, I’d be happier paying about half of that.
I think when you’re young and your career is going up it’s okay to go to the upper limit of what you can afford, not so much when you are older.
I’m probably worrying more than I should.
Of course the extra money would buy a lot of chocolate!
And there, my dear, is your answer.
I can understand your worries - like I said - just a thought I tossed out there. Do you belong to a credit union? That’s how we did our re-fi 2 years ago and it wasn’t nearly as much of a hassle as when we dealt with the original mortgage company.
Laundry is in and mine is put away. **FCD **can take care of his own socks and unders. He’s out on his bike right now - he wanted to see what it’s like to ride when it’s not freezing. Poke is roasting. I’ll make the corn muffins in about 15 minutes or so. Sugar snap peas zap up in about 5 minutes, so they’ll be done last.
It’s a glorious 73° in the house and 72° outside. THIS is how spring should manifest itself.
Steak and sallit for dindin just cause it’s easy and I can’t be bothered to do more. Got the sallit made and in a few gonna throw the steaks on the grill. We likes 'em medium rarish so they’ll cook up quick. Couple purty ribeyes. YUM!!!
Not quite true, I have a few proper old fart friends
Back from juggling club early today 'cos everyone else is going to a convention tomorrow, meaning an early start and a long drive, so no-one else wanted to go to the pub. I have no money, so no convention for me
I did actually juggle today though. After over 4 years of going there every week, I’m finally actually learning to juggle clubs. I normally just drink tea and eat biscuits (cookies to you), and vaguely play with a hula hoop occasionally.
It doesn’t do to rush these things, you know
You want to be this spider plant. It’s very happy hanging in its sunny window. Lots of tendrils and happy leaves.
Somehow I managed to delete all my save games when I was moving my documents file over to Dropbox so I have to start over with my Elder Scrolls games. Both of them. :smack: And I had just started playing Dawnguard.
First world problems, I know, but still. Dawnguard looked awesome and now I have to level up enough for those quests to start again.
This is quite true Nuts. Soon you will be popular with all your juggling friends. Just as long as you don’t park in cars with boys at night. Broad daylight is fine however.
A quick, easy and delicious dindin has been consumed. Tomorrow shall be enchilada night at El Rancho Bear cause I got me a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for enchiladas. Actually they will get made up tonight and baked off tomorrow. I’m thinkin’ black beans on the side cause I like black beans.
Thus goeth the evenin’ in swampland.
And if you date a Klingon, remember to take your mad money, in case you kill him and must pay the Blood Debt to his parents.
I was looking forward to the apartment I was seeing tonight - nice elevatored building about 20 minutes from the office. Except.
Except - the elevator was in the front of the building, there is no overnight street parking, and if I went in the back door, I’d still have to walk to the front for the elevator, then the available apartment was as far away from the elevator as it could be - my knee buckled on the way to see it and I lost my balance. I didn’t fall, the wall was right there, so I leaned a bit then made my way back to the car very disgruntledly.
Tomorrow I try again somewhere else.
AWWWWWW Rosie you’ll find it soon. I do have one question. After you find an apartment you like will you need to schedule a second appointment to ascertain if said apartment is to Smokey’s liking?
I don’t believe I’ve ever been forward enough to ask about your mobility problems, Cute One.
It’s no secret, flytrap. I have sever arthritis everywhere. I have two artificial hips which work great, but the muscles around them are not completely strong. My right knee is artificial, which makes my right leg 1/2" to 3/4" longer than my left - not big on a ruler, but big enough that I have to walk with a crutch to maintain my hips at a constant level. Plus, my left knee, being completely cartiledge-free, doesn’t always cooperate when I walk, and it folds up when I need it straight.
As the saying goes
‘Don’t make love by the garden gate
Love is blind but the neighbors ain’t’.
I remember one date where after he brought me home we sat out in the car for hours, my mother about died. Told me to come in the house next time or all the neighbors would be talking.
Of course my mother also told me nobody goes to the drive in to watch the movie.
Also, always put a dime in your shoe in case he gets too fresh and you need to call for a ride home.
Oh yeah, always order something from the middle of the menu, never the cheapest item nor the most expensive.
Time to log off and assume the knit position. I’s tahred!!
So I finished the day WFH by bathing the automocar (Shhhh!)
To celebrate the first warm day of the year, I ditched the shorts for longs to go sit out & watch the local Boys of Summer; I don’t believe I’ve ever been to an April nite game in short sleeves befoe
Howdy all,
**Ruble **I am so sorry, hate to see a brother or sister go.
Gotta run
**Jim the Destroyer **
The bartender who was supposed th make the jello shots “forgot” so, we’re home early. We did have a good time. Hubby’s old friends came to celebrate him turning “30-19”
I mentioned this a couple weeks ago, and had no pictures to post then.
Behold, thegrandcat!
The name given to him at the shelter is Marcel, but Da Rugrat is considering other names. He’s holding out for ‘Bus’ at the moment, because at 14 lbs, the cat is as big as one. FDil likes ‘Calcifer’, a demon character in one of the video games they play.
What a cutie! Looks like he’d love a tummy rub.
{{{everyone who needs a hug, for whatever reason}}}
Supposed to hit 85 here in Sacramento on Wednesday. Bit early in the year for that, isn’t it? I dread summer here.
Oh, I was assuming this was in addition to the regular MMP (c’mon, it wasn’t even a Monday) (See, I read the sticky ages ago … but I’ll slink off to read it again).
But I can’t leave the Pit… there are more DØU€4E8AGZ there to laugh at.
ETA: Sending good vibes your way, 'rose.
