I have only one, hurts like hell when I stumble or stub my toe.
As always, my best wishes go to the Cute One.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! ::splort::
Calcifer! Billy Crystal voiced him in Howl’s Moving Castle. Great cat name.
We have mumpers in the Middle East, Europe, and the UK. When I posted, it was already Monday somewhere.
Thanks for the vibes - maybe they’ll work for me tomorrow
Sending good thoughts your way, Rosie, for finding the RIGHT apartment for you. I totally understand, btw. Sending prayers to those who lost friends or have ailing family.
Is it wrong that Annette Funicello’s passing affected me much more than that of Margaret Thatcher? I always liked Annette, especially her curly brown hair (not straight, curly!). She’s not suffering from the MS any more, though, and her children were with her holding her hand when she passed away. It reminded me of my own Mom and how she passed away. Prayers for those mourning everywhere.
We had Italian beef sandwiches for dinner tonight, they were good. I tried a Pioneer Woman recipe over the weekend, eggs in nests (hash brown nests that is), and they were good too, although I think I overbaked the eggs. Next time I take them out earlier! Ree just posted a recipe for sour cream pancakes that looks soooo good, I think I might try that next weekend (even though waffles are really my favorite :)).
Hope everyone has a good Tuesday!

It’s only mid-morning here but I could happily settle down for a snooze. I went to see Danny Vaughn last night at a local venue and had a fantastic night - that guy’s voice is just awesome. Anyway, that resulted in a late night and an early morning now that I’m a working person again.
I was watching the news at home first thing, it is interesting to see how opinions about Thatcher are so polarised. It does seem that those who are praising “what she did for women” are the ones who are too young to remember clearly just how much she despised feminism. They’re also the ones who don’t remember how her pit-closure programme completely destroyed communities, and decades later those communities have not recovered. They have neither forgiven nor forgotten.
(((((rosie))))) - I’m sure the right apartment is out there just waiting for you. Maybe you should have sent Smokey out looking for it instead!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 58 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 85 for the day. Nice!
Cute grandcat BBBobbio.
Glad y’all had a good time even without Jell-O[sup]TM[/sup] shots picu!
Ok, that’s all I got for now. Time for more caffiene and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence.
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Happy Toosday!
It is 12 degrees above freezing and I cannot believe it is warmed here than in Swampyland.
It feels like we need to go from heat to AC.
Life is annoying right now.
'tis a grand cat, indeed BBBobbio! Excellent choice.
The news of Margaret Thatcher’s death reminds me of being in Trafalgar Square in Nov. of 1986 or '87. There was a huge anti-Chunnel protest going on, with people chanting, “Maggie Thatcher, please repent! Keep the froggies out of Kent!”
Today I am glad I don’t have to go to work - I feel like I was thrown under a steam roller, then kicked, then pushed down the stairs… OK mainly I’m just exhausted, but still. ugh.
I went to bed early, but had a tough time getting comfy. About an hour anna half later, FCD’s watch alarm went off - WHY would he set it for 10:30PM?? I finally fell asleep and was doing OK till around 3 when **FCD **let the dog out. He woke me when he crawled into bed and I thought he was getting up. Between him flopping around trying to get comfy again and the idiot cat on my legs, I couldn’t find sleep again. Then the damned watch went off again at 4:30 - he’d set that for the bike ride that almost froze him, and he didn’t un-set it. I was not happy.
And in all these ups and downs and flopping around and alarms, I was having a really bizarro dream that involved us going on a trip that involved the Pentagon, staying in someone else’s apartment (squatting - we hadn’t been invited) and me desperately digging thru our luggage looking for clean underwear. Oddly enough (as if the rest of the dream wasn’t odd) **FCD **had half a dozen linen suits in one suitcase. In reality, he doesn’t own any suits, let alone one in linen. Oh, and Higgs was a chihuahua in the dream. So I’m exhausted at the moment. I can’t even go back to bed because I stripped the sheets off. That wasn’t very smart…
When it’s more light out, I’m going to spend a couple more hours working in the front yard. After lunch, I’ll deliver the pottery to the store, then run to the credit union. And somewhere in there, I need to thaw something for supper. Naturally, all of this assumes I don’t fall asleep in the interim.
<YAWN>
Yeah, Happy Tuesday. Whatever.

Damned dog got me up at 0200, and I did not sleep well after that. 'Tis going to be a looooong day.
Rode my bike to irk today. I’m always amazed at how out of shape I get over the winter. : puff : : puff : : puff :
Marcel the GrandCat will be getting his first present in the mail soon. A child’s fishing rod with attached catnip stuffed fur mouse. The VunderKind knows all about catfishing. Marcel, being 7 years old, is apparently quite the stoner and VunderKind reports the catnip bill is getting rather exhorbitant.
Rosie, good luck and good hunting.
{{{{}}}} for everyone!
Morning all,
I forgots they were cleaning out the fridge at work on friday and then I forgots to label my milk so it wouldn’t get tossed. And then I forgots I forgots and went in search of milk for my cereal and was mildy put out that there was none there. I wanted Apple Jacks for breakfast dagnabit! Sigh. Healthy yoghurt it is…blurf!
Morning all
Its not yet dawn and its already warm and muggy. Around here we get about a week of spring and the its summer for most of the year.
** Cute One ** it occurs to me that if you find a place you like that has a step or two by the door, a small ramp could be made from scrap lumber for little to no money.
One of my axolotls is called Calcifer after him! He doesn’t look much like that kitty though.
Not very awake- my housemate had a boy over last night, though she claims he’s only a friend, and they just sat 'n got drunk in the living room. It was quite loud, and went on til 6 this morning, so I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep.
Happy tuesday! Hugs available where needed.
Thanks everyone. I think the thing that pissed me and saddened me the most was how all the news reports assumed it was her fault. “There were no skid marks from the motorcycle”. Hello? Ah, could I have a moment? Don’t you know the new ones are all ABS brakes? How do you expect us to leave great skid marks like that? And if she hit at the rate of speed you are implying why isn’t the front tire under the wheel somewhere? Don’t know if the truck stopped short to make its turn or she got caught napping but she was able to get her speed down enough that the damage wasn’t too bad to the bike; she just got unseated and went over the bars into the tailgate. Life is a matter of feet and inches sometimes.
Ah well, I guess by now expecting anything like the truth from news is something I should have outgrown.
Blurf.
Hey ** Shiny Cat ** how’s the writing coming along?
**{}{kopek}}} **- sounds like a letter to the editor is in order…
Two more productive hours and 4 more loads of debris hauled from the front to the back. Also more bloodshed, but I was wearing red shorts and a red tshirt, so it didn’t show. The front hill is lots bigger than I thought - I’ll definitely need a lot of stuff from Mom to fill it up. And I think a couple of dogwood trees would be nice also. But I think it’s too late in the year for that, right? Trees are planted in the fall?
My pottery has been inventoried, and now it needs to be packed up. I’ll take it to the store, then go get some lunch and go do some business at the credit union. Higgs won’t be happy about being crated - oh well - sucks to be her.
