I'm Too Old For This 5h1t - a Venting MMP

Not great. I need to type up the stuff I’ve done so I have some idea where I am, but I’m pretty sure I’m really behind.

Home alone!
HFH 1 an 2 are not here, not that 1 ever is.
Mom and her bf left for another vacation somewhere.
So I can do the happy dance.

Laundry day.
Got to get the first load in.

Pizza day, I think we will just get a pizza for the kid since I still have 1 and a half chicken breasts and a pound of steamed shrimp left.
Since the shrimpies were a bit over cooked and a bit too spicy I think I will cut them up and make shrimp salad.

I have to finish my taxes today, and get the last few papers copied for the mortgage company. See if I can find one that will do a small mortgage. I’ve got calls into several different banks and am waiting for call backs.
I don’t know why I am having such a hard time with the taxes, they are basically done. I only have to go over them and make sure everything is correct.
It’s like my eyes start swimming and my head starts spinning and everything gets blurry.

Ahhhh F$%^
HFH number 2 just came in.
Now if I try to carry my laundry out her (expletives) dogs will try to attack my dog.

I’m not going to last 2 more months in this house.

Back from my erranding. I dropped off my pottery, grabbed a quick lunch at Wendy’s, and opened an IRA. So, should I be productive now or just be a bum? Decisions, decisions…

Hang in there, sari! We don’t want to see you on TV explaining how the gun just went off…

I’m really starting to wonder how much the weather messes with my brain. Especially Texas in the spring. We’re due thunderstorms this evening, and I swear I’ve been twitchy and snappy all day long.

Doesn’t help that two of my coworkers are being flatulent buttheads.

Okay, so I got the stuff typed up for the story I’m trying to finish this month. That’s 1255 words ( :frowning: ). I have about three hours of voice recording to type for a nearly finished short story (I have to write the final scene still).

I’m not doing so well. Mostly, I just really want to get the first draft of the one done.

Just exactly where is this gas coming from? Are they aliens?
Sitting on the deck in shorts & a t-shirt taking conf calls. Gotta get up & go put on some footwear & change some tires; working from home is SO tough.

I’m being audited by the IRS. How are you?

Me, I need to file my quarterlies (income tax withdrawal + VAT) and to find out the number to get an appointment to file income tax.

I hope the audit goes well, Professor.

It didn’t go badly for me. I had prepared answers to their questions and they were actually polite and helpful.
For example, they wanted to know why the rent house went for a low rent and why it wasn’t paid for several months. I showed them that was the average rental for a two bedroom house in the city, and took paperwork where I’d evicted the tenants and couldn’t get them out.

Eep.

I’m supposed to be going up to visit ye Parents, for a zoo committee meeting the weekend after next- I casually said I’d pick up my Aunt on the way, as she’s also coming to visit on the same weekend, I’m going sort of nearish her on the way up, and she doesn’t like travelling on her own. I also figured that meant I could go visit my Great-Uncle who lived pretty close to her. I completely forgot:
a) My car MOT’s due that week, and it’s an old car, which may well fail badly,
b) ‘Nearish’ still could add anything up to about 2 hours onto an already long trip,
c) I have to be here at 3.40 to go to the jobcentre, which could well mean I don’t get there until after 11pm.

I really need to think these things through before cheerfully saying I’ll do stuff.

On the plus side, my Great-Uncle’s house is just round the corner from one of the best chip shops I know of

Just spent a wunnerful afternoon in the ER after VWife fell at home this morning and knocked herself silly(er). Details later, but mostly happy ending.

Do you get all her stuff?

If it was a “happy ending” wouldn’t it be the other way around?

::sorry for gutter brain::

Well I was gonna complain about having to peel a pound of overcooked shrimp.
You know they get all mushy and the shells stick.
But ain’t got much to say about that now..

FCM I too worry that some night y’all are going to see me on the nightly news. My friends say they will swear it was justifiable homicide.

The bank called and they will do small mortgages. So all I have to do is fill out a small application to get pre-approved. The guy sounded very nice and helpful. The bank owns a few REOs in Hagerstown. They weren’t all priced yet but who knows, maybe if I am a customer they will be wiling to work with me.

I still didn’t get my taxes done.
I couldn’t figure out how to edit a field so I deleted everything for that income and started over.

I hope this isn’t a bad sign but I offered my dog a shrimp and he sniffed it and turned up his nose.

I’ll be finishing my taxes this weekend - since I gotta pay anyway, they can get their money on the 15th and no sooner! :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t think I’ll ever achieve my goal of being within $100 on both state and fed taxes. Our income has been all over the place since I retired. Oh well, it’s only money…

Supper is chicken with rice - my own version of arroz con pollo plus leftovers. Everything in it is good, so the composite should be good, right?? Yes, right.

It got hot enough here to kick on the attic fan. Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter. I’m looking forward to the cooldown to more normal temps this weekend.

We have been using the attic fan.
It was up to 84 in here today.

At last, some good news. DH has more or less recovered from the radiation burns and is well enough to resume the radiation treatments. Just seven nukings to go.

He’s also off the pain meds, and now has two or three weeks’ sleep to get caught up on.

Now we just have two months’ lost income to recover from.

Yay for the good news gotti!

Ick for the audit Perfesser.

Glad VWife is ok BBBobbio.

Enchilada casserole is bakin’ in the oven just to get all heated and to melt the cheeze. Rice and beans are all read. Got shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, 'maters, onion and salsa all ready to go on top of the enchiladas. What? We like all that there stuff! Dindin will be nummilicious!

One of the bad things about good weather and opening the windows.

I forgot how much I hate living across the street from a day care.

Between the husbands motorcycle, the screaming kids, the screaming mothers, and the mini traffic jams you’d think I was living in the middle of a busy city.
They themselves have 11, yes that’s right, 11 vehicles.
They have 1 SUV, 1 camper, 1 popup camper, 3 cars (one on blocks), 1 trailer to pull the equipment for their lawn service, 3 pick up trucks, 1 boat with a trailer, and at least 1 motorcycle and another trailer for hauling whatever, it looks like a horse trailer but they don’t have horses. I think that’s more than 11. The one truck I think belongs to the man of houses brother and someone told me he is living in the camper. They have extension cords and a hose running to it.
That someone said he wishes someone would call the county, I don’t know why he doesn’t do it but I know I’m not going to. I prefer to stay out of such things.

The only place people can park when they come to pick up their kids is on the corner, so anybody wanting to get around can’t see and only one car can get through at a time. So if someone is trying to turn down that street and someone else is trying to come out, everybody on one side has to back up.
Or they double park in front of our house and nobody can get through.

Supper was a success, plus there’s tons left over, so I have lunch for tomorrow… and the next day.

I think tonight is a melatonin night… or maybe a kahlua and cream night. Something to help me sleep. With a side of ibuprofen. I’s achy!

**sari **- no doubt about it - you need to move!! Hope you find a great place soon!
