He’ll resort to *conventional *insults and personal attacks.
I disagree with most of Ted’s domestic policies, but why is he a “vile person?” Because his GOP colleagues are jealous of him?
Because he believes in second-class citizenry.
Because he believes in a state-mandated religion.
ETA: Remember how the GOP lives in fear of Sharia law? Ted Cruz has no problem with implementing a Christian version.
I don’t give Cruz any respect for this. He was fawning over Trump (in order to steal his votes) early in the primary. Did his opinion of Trump somehow change? No. He’s just bitter because his strategy didn’t work, causing him to lose.
It’s a bit like throwing a tantrum, something Trump does on a regular basis.
Cruz’s behind-the-scenes actions when he helped shut down the government are one reason to call him “vile”. I’m going to leave the partisanship aside. Cruz convinced a large number of House conservatives to defund the government over the objections of House leadership. The House pointed out that while they could shut down the government they could not get rid of Obamacare, making the entire episode pointless. The Republican would have lost a lot of face, respect, etc for shutting down the government without getting anything out of it… except for the Obamacare website fiasco.
Shame on all of you for granting credit to a hypocrite.
Answered in post 57.
I’m curious. Why do you name him and his family as being vile, then praise him for strength and character? Elucidation, please.
When you believe someone is vile, or a bad person, do you then believe that they embody the sum evil of Humanity and are incapable of any good?
Because I don’t.
It may have been here or somewhere else, but I read somebody comparing Cruz to Trump like Anton Drexler to Hitler.
His GOP colleagues hated him before he ran for president, when there was absolutely no reason to be jealous of him. As far as I’ve read, it is because he does not play well with others and has no clue that politics involves anything more than saying what you want and holding your breath until you turn blue to get it.
Eh. My crystal ball says that, whether Trump wins or loses, Cruz screwed over the RNC at their biggest soiree of the election. The PTB will not forget that and he will not get RNC support in 2020. Individual donors? Maybe, but that ain’t nearly enough.
Nope, Fuck Ted Cruz. Stubborn, arrogant SOB. It was him and Rubio and all the other 17 million Republican candidates that fragmented the GOP base and allowed the people who think Reality TV is reality to get Trump those early wins and build momentum instead of running up against a wall of two or three strong candidates who actually have experience governing and not just grandstanding.
The fact that Cruz didn’t drop out earlier and let someone like Kasich, or Rubio, or even Bush III take the mantle is frankly the biggest single reason for this bullshit.
So Trump did exactly what Trump does and treated Cruz like shit. Boo Hoo. You and your 17 million compatriots all pandering to your own damn egos and refusing to step aside and unite the party around someone other than Trump are all to blame. Fuck all of you. You deserve what you get because you have now made everyone else get the shitshow this election cycle is going to be. And frankly, in the Reality TV generation I’m not at all convinced Hillary will win. She’s just too damn boring. In a country that watches NASCAR for the wrecks… I guess it’s true what they say of Democracy. You get what you deserve.
Enjoy,
Steven
Staunch absolutist gets butthurt and capitulates. I could give a fuck what Trump said when Cruz was badgering Trump to swear to endorse the eventual nominee.
It’s blatant, pathetic hypocrisy from a pathetic, craven political fucktard.
