I'm Up So Here's The New MMP

Actually, nelliebly has a lot going for her too… Maybe I’ll just play the field.

BBBoo

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sorts!

HELLLOOOOOOOO NURRRRSSEEEEE(s)!

Yes, you rang?

Boo~heading to bed after I find another blanket to pile on. I’ll be reading A Breath of Snow and Ashes, by Diana Gabaldon. Second time through the Outlander series. Keeps me off the street, time will tell whether out of trouble.

I guess I gave Sweetie the Tramadol too early in the evening. She is up and wanting outside. Sigh. My kingdom for a whole night’s sleep…

Yeah, I woke too early - 5AM on Saturday?? (Like the days matter in retirement…) Guess I was rested enough, so I’ve tended to the critters, breakfasted, and I’m caffeinating.

We’re meeting daughter at Lowe’s around 9:30. She wants her dad’s advice on a project, plus we need to get new feet pads for our bar stools - the old ones will scratch the crap outta the new floor. We were also going to look at mats and throw rugs, but since I’ve ordered them on line, no need to go that route. I also want to pick out paint for the exterior of the front doors. After we get everything back in place in the house, the front doors will be cleaned and painted. We should probably get a new passage set, too.

When we get home from Lowe’s, we’ll bring the bookshelves in from the garage and set them up in this room, and I’ll load them up again. Then I’ll bring the stereo cabinet back in here and load my records into it. And I think that’s all this room needs. The reclining love seat will come in here when the new recliners are delivered. In January. Meanwhile, FCD will assemble the 2 small cabinets we bought for the dining room.

The last thing to be done will be hanging the pictures on the walls, but I don’t know how much of that we can/should do before the new furniture is delivered. I’m thinking maybe everywhere but in the living room.

I should make some lists.

Happy Saturday!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slugabed until seven this mornin’! :open_mouth: ‘Tis 51 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 77 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. No big plans for the day. The idea of goin’ to Cheddar’s for N.O.L. was tossed around last night, but no decision made. We’ll either do that or get some takeout from somewhere for our main sustenance intake of the day. Sloth shall compose the rest of the day.

MOOOOOOM it’s best to wait until you have furniture in place before hangin’ pictures on the wall. That Elvis on black velvet and Dogs Playin’ Poker should be centered over the sofa after all.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day! Rah.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Blurf. Up. Dressed. 43F outside. All told I’ll be out from 7:45am to 3:45pm, either coaching or refereeing or driving from one field to another…I’ll write this evening if I make it… And now I learned the referee for my early morning game can’t make it because one of his cow-orkers tested positive for Covid-19…oh joy.

Take care all.

I live in a city with an NHL team, 2 small mammals own me, I’ll let you alphabetize my spices to your heart’s content AND I am fluent in sort-speak. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Blockquote MOOOOOOM it’s best to wait until you have furniture in place before hangin’ pictures on the wall. That Elvis on black velvet and Dogs Playin’ Poker should be centered over the sofa after all.

What? Jesus, John Wayne and the Indian weren’t invited to the game? :stuck_out_tongue:

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, a load of towels (along with the shower curtain) in the wash, the bathtub cleaned and fixing to do KP. I need to go to CVS today to pick up prescriptions and to the USPO to mail my dad’s birthday card. Other than that, I’ll likely take a spin on the bike and take Nelson to the dog park. Such excitement!

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Happy Saturday!

Chilly 43 degrees at the park this morning. Glad I wore my hat and gloves. Now the sun is out and it’s 55 degrees, supposed to get up to 66.

I agree that pictures should go up after furniture is placed. Unless you are like me and have no pictures on the walls. Pictures have to be dusted and I don’t like to dust.

I suppose I should throw my bra into the ring.
Don’t care about hockey but won’t care that you do.
Like all mammals, big and small.
Don’t have enough spices to alphabetize them.

I don’t know what I am doing today. I always have stuff to do, but don’t feel much like doing any of it today.

Afternoon all.

Slept for a good 12 hours straight last night- I seem to be getting everyone else’s sleep lately, then waking up all blurry. Went and bought some assorted vegetables, especially those suitable for roasting, because it’s definitely that sort of weather. That’s been about the limit of the day’s excitement.

It sounds like someone’s moving in to the flat below, so I hope they’re fairly quiet and don’t get too disturbed by me.

I like pretty well all mammals except some humans, but hockey to me means something I was forced to play in a field at school, and my spices have an erratic distribution based on frequency of use.

I think it wouldn’t work out.

Morning, all. Cats are fed, hummingbirds are fed, I am fed. The day is off to a rousing start. Cooking dinner for friends this afternoon, so prep work will occupy random bits of time all day. Chicken to shred, onions to slice, tinga sauce to make. Didn’t win Mega-Millions last night. (pouts)

Hope everybody has a pleasant weekend of whatever makes you happy.

Made pimento cheese according Swampy’s recipe, but with Peppadew peppers, since that’s what the store had. Used both the big and small holes on the grater, and it’s been sitting in the fridge for 6 hours, so it’s probably about as done as it’s going to get.

And since it got cold I ended up with green and partially green tomatoes, so I tried shoe’s recipe.

Think it works better with bigger tomatoes, but tasted good. Next year I’m getting one cherry tomato plant and one beefsteak. Then I get the best of both worlds.

Currently have popovers in the oven. Still don’t have a clue where my grandmother’s recipes went. For some reason neither of my parents ever made popovers, and my grandmother always made them with spaghetti with meat sauce. Hopefully they turn out, but I think I overfilled the muffin cups. I think I might try a Yorkshire pudding recipe next, and see how they taste different.

The alleged air is as bad as yesterday, and the Princess is a pest this morning. I’m still hazy from Nyquil last night.

Only activity planned is dealing with a grocery delivery this afternoon.

The 'mento cheese looks good. I made some myself this week.

Anybody without cats will never know the thrill of trying to field-strip a roasted chicken with a curious and perpetually hungry kitten climbing your leg.

I hope you get good news. That sounds scary.

I’m in the East Bay (Bay Area, CA). We’re red now. We’ll see if we make it into purple again (we managed to get there yesterday). I just heard that we should get some rain next week, courtesy of the hurricane down near Baja. I really hope it does some good with these fires.

Today I will roast a chicken for dinner. I need to do laundry and housework too, but it’s hard to do much. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

I lurves peppadews! The local Fred Meyer’s (Kroger) sell them, if you know where to look. And the folks in the cheese ‘kiosk’ used to make a peppadew/cheddar spread and sell it in the cold case by the deli. They don’t anymore since I quit buying it. (I could make my own and theirs cost too much.) Wifey doesn’t like it though. :disappointed:

Today’s projects include putting up Wifey’s fancy new bird feeder ad finishing up the modifications to the big basement door and maybe making a latch for the front gate. Right now it’s held closed with a bungee cord.

And for those of you who are keeping score, left-over 5 bean (cans) chili for dinner tonight.

Happy satidday to those who celebrate, and hugs to those who needs 'em, especially Gotti.

OK, so the back roof’s edge runs along the back of the house rather than having a peak over the door. The deck roof is a couple of feet higher and overlaps it, leaving an opening. A gutter runs along the edge of the roof to keep us from being doused when we go outside. Here’s the thing: Rain runs off the roof, and some of it doesn’t go into the gutter. So Mrs. L.A. got some roll flashing. She’s cutting and bending strips of it, which she is inserting under the roof flashing and into the gutter. This should prevent water from coming down the back side of the gutter. (My contribution was I showed her how she could bend the metal.) I’ll need to fashion a guard to keep water from shooting off the valley and past the gutter.

I took the portable a/c out to the shed. We didn’t use it much this year, and we won’t need it again until next July or August.

Being Saturday, I made hashbrowns for breakfast. I don’t know what’s for dinner, but I’d like to finish off the fajitas from last night. Tomorrow morning I’ll rub the pork and let it cook for eight hours or so at 230ºF.

Tonka wants to go out onto the catio. Mrs. L.A. thinks his almost-17-year-old joints are sore, so she’s been giving him glucosamine treats. I gave him some of my egg whites this morning, and Mrs. L.A. gave him a little bacon. Goo snatched the large piece of bacon off of Wifey’s plate when she put it on the counter.

Did a load of towels but they are still in the dryer getting wrinkled. Got a beef roast in the oven. Mopped the two bedrooms, walked the dog between rain storms, forced the cat inside due to rain. Did my morning nursing duties and am thinking of a nap but I really need to finish the laundry and mop the rest of the house. Nap may win out since my patient is down for a nap with the cat. Well since that’s all sorted nap it is.
