Shelves have been mostly organized:
And FCD assembled the cabinets that have replaced the monster-sized hutch.
We moved a few more things, but I think we’re done for now. In a little bit, we’re leaving to get our flu shots at CVS. I may or may not unpack some more when we get back. Because I can.
Ok, I was thinking about ordering Chinese food, and I was wondering if they delivered. The front of the menu lists 3 options: Dine In/Carry Out/Pick Up.
What the heck is the difference between Carry Out and Pick Up?
(I suppose I could call them and ask, but this is a mundane question, so I’m asking here first.)
Home. Lost our games but we didn’t play too badly and the kids skills improved, so there is that. Refereeing was OK, not my best but I had control of the matches. I felt pretty good when I came home and about an hour later decided to get up to fix something to eat and…suddenly I had grown to be 90 and was hobbling along to fetch my slippers. Sore my feet are…
Anyway, I’m back, probably will try to do a load or two of laundry tonight and save myself the time tomorrow. Mowage is on the agenda for Sunday, so I should have a nice (moderately active) weekend and get some extra sleepage tonight.
bobot, I guessing here, but Carry Out you order at the restaurant and wait for it, then carry it out, and pickup you call it in, drive over to the restaurant and pick it up. Just a WAG.
FCM, looks nice.
Butters, glad things are (apparently) settling down. Happy nappage.
gotti, be well. Sounds like the Drs. have some work to do.
Howdy Y’all! We did go to Cheddar’s for N.O.L. Not one of my favorite places, but the food is decent, so there’s that. I think the place is too noisy. Then, again, I am a grumpy old man, so what do I know. Other than that major chillage has ensued here at da cave.
I agree with Metal Mouse’s definition of pickup vs. carryout. I assume pickup means you order, go to the place, call and foodstuffs get brought out to your car. It could also mean you order, go to the place, go inside, and pick up said foodstuffs. The former has become more of a thing as of late, so I’m guessin’ that’'s the difference.
Just got back from Beach Cat Brewery. We drove the mile down the beach in the MGB. Mrs. L.A. had some sort of porter (6.6 ABV), and I had a Smash Cat IPS (7.8% ABV). We got a four pack of Shabby Tabby IPA and Calico Jack porter (different from the one Mrs. L.A. had there). Classic rock today, which was nice; but I really dug the reggae they were playing last week.
Got home, and smelled the chicken breast rubbed with pork rub that I put into the oven before we left. Tastes great!
dicey, your pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes look yum!
It sounds like a good foot soak is in order for you metal mouse.
swampy, I agree with you about Cheddar’s having decent food and too much noise. Add that to the lines (around here at least) out the door, I don’t go there often. I refuse to wait in that kind of line for chain restaurant food.
Did a few errands this afternoon, took the bike north on TN SR 141 TN SR 141
and saw that the leaves are beginning to turn at some of the upper elevations on the route. That means that ours will be doing that in a couple of weeks.
When I came home, I took Nelson to the dog park. There was a dog that he had never played with when we got there and he snapped at him several times. The poor other dog wasn’t doing anything wrong, Nelson was just being a little asshole. I was going to take him out of the park, but the other dog’s humans said that they were fixing to go anyway, so we stayed. He behaved himself with the other dogs.
Swung through for some ribs for supper and that’s been ingested. Burrrrrrrrrrp! I’ll play a bit in the studio and stream some TV. So exciting.
I scrolled quickly but retained little … besides laughing at the image of auto correct being a drunk elf with good intentions … and are we setting up some kind of dating pool or meat market?
If so, I’ll throw my bra into that ring, too. Been told I’m not bad to look at; I don’t alphabetize my spices but am O.K. with it if your brain prefers things that way.
Picked up Chinese on the way home, because I’z taaaahhred tonight. Long day in the rain - the manager let me (sit around and) sticker new product inside towards the end of my shift, which was a nice favor I didn’t ask for but did appreciate.
We were going to have lunch at Cracker Barrel, but the wait was 30 minutes, so we went 2 lots down to Olive Garden and had soup, salad, and breadsticks for lunch. The minestrone was really meh. I like the chicken and gnocchi but it’s more than twice the calories of the minestrone, and it wasn’t worth it to me.
Day is winding down. I think I’ll mosey back to bed with Mel.
I haven’t been in the MMP for a while, but I have been in two threads. The first is a CANCER SUCKS thread. See, on Monday 9/21 my sister and BIL went to Branson, MO. They came back early on Wednesday because my sis had headaches and an upset stomach. Friday she couldn’t be waked in the morning and was taken to the hospital. Within 24 hours she was dead of a fast growing brain tumor. Monday early her organs were donated and tomorrow Sunday will be her visitation, with the funeral on Monday
The other thread is about a practise the family learned about called an Honor Walk. It’s announced over the hospital intercom, and all staff that can possibly make it line the halls as the donor is wheeled in their bed to the surgical donation suite. You should look up the videos, they are very moving.
