I sold a camera. The buyer sent me photos of how it was received. Even though I put padding in the case and plastered ‘Fragile’ stickers all over the box, UPS managed to destroy a lens. I offered the buyer a $180 refund for the lens, or he could return the whole package for a refund. If he chooses the latter, I’ll offer the Tobin motor, the camera body, and accessories separately. I’m pissed off though, because I avoid UPS if at all possible and he wanted it sent cheap. So no insurance. With 499 reviews on eBay, I have a feeling I’m about to lose my 100% positive rating.
Row, row, row your boat…
Yay on the assemblage!
Evening all. Morning sloth gave way to afternoon sloth which led to even sloth…well, in my defense, I did take a bath…
Do have things to do come the 1st day of October. One is check on a piece of furniture I bought on August 25th, they said it would be here late September and… Also a soccer practice to look forward too, even though we’re running out of light pretty quick these days.
nellie, yea on the rowing assembly. I can usually get put-together stuff put together, but I’ve had a couple of failures in my time, too.
flyboy, you pays for cheap and you gets the results. I think you’re being more than fair with the guy, so he shouldn’t mess up your rating.
I didn’t watch the debate last night, I did follow the thread here in the Politics and Elections thread so I got the feel of it without having to inflict it on myself.
All you sinus sufferers, be well; sounds like a lot of good ideas in this week’s MMP.
And that is about as active as I feel today; all y’all take care.
A camera house rom New York? I suspect I’ll get a negative rating. If he accepts a refund I can probably break up the package for a profit. I hope he accepts a refund and leaves a positive rating or else doesn’t leave one. He paid $1,000 for the package. The motor alone is selling for $800 – if you can find one.
The alleged air in Sacramento is back to visible, with taste and texture. I have two different apps that purport to report air quality. SpareTheAir currently reports AQI as Good for ozone (5), Moderate for PM2.5 (60) and PM10 (55). AirNow reports current AQI for the same city as Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, with PM2.5 at 150 and ozone at 64. DH’s and my sinuses, along with my throat and eyes, are inclined to go with AirNow’s report. The Princess is incarcerated indoors until there’s more actual air in the air.
Got a text from Mrs. Wheelz this afternoon saying she wanted to meet me at the local bar on my way home from work. On Wednesdays they have a special on Tito’s vodka drinks. Since Wednesday is my Friday, we stop by often for a couple of Alicia’s awesome Bay Breezes. She always makes the second one stronger. Wooo! (Don’t worry. I walk to work and the bar is a block from our house.)
Today was significant because even though they’ve had an outdoor seating area set up for a couple of months now, the Mrs. hasn’t felt comfortable enough to hang out there until now. It was a nice bit of quasi-normalcy during these still crazy times.
Grabbed a big salad and some cheese bread from the pizza place next door and headed home for dinner. We opened a bottle of wine but put most of it back in the fridge. We’re not used to Alicia’s potions after such a long layoff, I guess. It’s been a nice evening.
Nellie, yay you! Of course you can put together a rowing machine. I’ve always believed that building things and using tools are not nearly as mysterious as people seem to think. It’s just one step at a time, like everything else.
Seanette, ugh. I feel awful for everyone in the fire areas. Here in SF we’ve had good days and bad days with the AQI, but more good days than a lot of folks have had. And we’re not in danger of burning. So I count my blessings. Hang in there.
Weather turned cold and I don’t think the big tomatoes will get ripe, but I’m still hoping the cherry tomatoes will manage to keep riping. This, with eggs, will be breakfast on Monday.
Hallelujah! (Yes, I had to look it up to make sure I spelled it correctly.)
Got the insurance approval for medical training therapy, so that should help with my foot problem. Evidentally my left leg is significantly weaker than my right, which is what is causing the problem with my foot. I’m sure it’s expensive, so I’m glad insurance is kicking in.
Friend posted that she’s putting plans together for the worst case scenario for November 4th. I have voted and made sure my husband voted. Not sure what else to do.
For those with insomnia, hope you’re able to sleep soon. For the rest of you who are still slumbering away, enjoy!
Me? I gotta go to work. In the next room. Woo hoo for short commutes!
wheelie I enjoyed your telling of the spontaneous drinks and dinner date night with your bride. I’m a hopeless romantic and it indeed sounded lovely you could snatch some moments of quasi-normalcy. The wine will keep til tomorrow.
Everybody, good night, sleep tight.
Friends across the pond, good morning.
October, welcome.
Boo
It’s not October already, that’s just silly. It’s June or something.
Anyway, I’m off to irk- today’s promised torrential rain has disappeared from the forecast, so I’ll need to re-write today’s plan a bit- last year we had hardly any dry days all winter, and even if I am wanting to scarper, I still want to help the students get the most out of their time.
I made the mistake of watching more excerpts from the debate. Now I’m too ticked to sleep.
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to sort.
Sorry about the camera, Flyboy. Hopefully the buyer won’t ding you.
Sounds like a good night, Wheelz. I just wish my favorite bars were only a block away.
Congrats on the assembly, nellie. And don’t forget the motivational music.
Happy Thorsday!
I woke up too early, thanks bladder, and decided to stay up.
The dogs are hanging close to me so I don’t forget to take them to the park.
I got most everything done yesterday, so today’s agenda is to finish the list and take Ripple and Adam to the vet. For some reason, da jungle sent me two cases of TP. I’m not sure how the S&S did that, but one can never have too much TP. It’s not like it’ll go bad or never get used.
Congrats on not only getting the rower home but assembled too Nellie
Doggio, I once irked with a guy whose solution for drunk driving was that there should be a bar on every corner.
Happy job hunting Nutz
Red, I don’t have too many stuffed with fluff toys around here. Actually, this was one I had gotten for Mackie, but he never did anything with it. It was a dog pillow, which is probably why the stuffing is more floofy than normal.
Mine like these
They’re chipmunks not squirrels
One of their friends chewed up the log, which mine never played with anyway. They having stuffing but not so much and it isn’t floofy.
They also like the toys that you can put an empty water bottle in.
Almost time to leave and I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 54 Amurrkin out and clear (or should I say moony?) with a predicted high of 83 and N.O.S. for the day. I need to take care of some errands today. Whoopie! They include a trip to Wally*World
and to the pharmacy to pickup meds. The meds that were delivered via FedEx once a month, I can now get locally. YAY! The local pharmacy offers free delivery which is nice to have as an option, but I prefer to just go get 'em myself. We may meet up to deal with candles this afternoon over to the church house. That remains TBD. Maik intartoobz pizza and sallit for sup just because.
Nellie yay for gettin’ the rowin’ machine put together! I tend to be somewhat tool dysfunctional, so I understand the victory.
flyboy sorry about the camera woes.
Wheelie sounds like a nice way to end the irk day.
Nettie hope the AQ is better for y’all today.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and woe, I suppose I should once again purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Two days in a row! Life can be so brutal!
Happy Thursday Y’all!
AQI this morning is already worse than yesterday. SpareTheAir is all over the place (ozone Good at 8, PM2.5 Unhealthy at 160, PM10 Moderate at 78), while AirNow is solidly at Unhealthy at 159 for PM2.5 (ozone Good at 18). DH’s leg is bothering him enough today that he’s staying home.
BACK ON LINE!!! Turns out the cable connection we switched to caused major signal loss, so FCD went to Lowe’s when they opened and got a cable long enough to reach the original outlet. So it’s all good now.
Carpet guys are here and SIL should be here soon. We leave at 10 for the lawyer’s office. I don’t know why I feel so stressed, but I will be glad tomorrow afternoon when all this mess is done.
Happy Thursday!!!
Morning all. Garbage has been put outside for collection, so major household job for the morning completed. Still need to head over and check on the Nightstand I ordered, but that can be done anytime before 4pm. Soccer coaching tonight, we’ll start earlier as it get dark sooner.
Nettie, take care with the air.
swampy, good news on the meds, I’m sure Fedex was never late, but like you, if I can put my hands on them…
Sari, hope Echo and Adam behave better than Ripple did…and swampy would concur with the TP sentiment.
wheelie, sounds like a nice afternoon/evening. Glad things are slowly getting back to normal.
OK, need to make myself presentable and get the furniture question answered. All y’all take care.
Mine wasn’t so much insomnia last night as it was a conspiracy to wake me up every 2 hours all night long. Between cat and a full bladder from hitting the brewery last night, I was denied my usual amount of blissful slumber. By the time Tango finally settled down the dawn was breaking.
At least the Dodgers won last night.
Hope everybody has a happy and productive (or at least stress free) Thorsday.
[rant]They took my crayons[/rant]
Got up, walked, had coffee, now working away (well, I guess I’m taking a break since I’m typing this). I keep telling myself I’ve gotta sleep more, but my husband and I stayed up talking last night, and he’s generally more interesting than going to sleep.
I hate it when it’s so danged dark in the mornings now. Dragging my sorry butt out of bed in 45-degree weather is no fun even with sunshine, but doing it when the sun hasn’t yet risen is a pain in the rear. If there weren’t a workout friend knocking on my door at 6:30 a.m. I wouldn’t do it. I’m afraid to hope for a good day today because every time I type out that it’s going to be a good day things go to hell in a handbasket. But…it’s sunny, it’s fall, I walked and feel accomplished so I’ve done my part so far to make it an okay not sucktastic day. So there.
So the sorting finally got to you, did it?
