I'm Up too Early so May as Well Start the MMP

Thanks BBBoo. He can’t even sit or stand at this point and certainly won’t be doing any driving in the next few days. I just hope it is muscular and not a broken bone or ruptured disc. He is pretty frail after all the shit he’s been through and he has lost a ton of weight. He has a good appetite and doesn’t miss any meals. The weight loss started when the heart valve stopped working properly and has continued even with a properly functioning aortic valve. Maybe it’s the mitral that’s still needs work causing the weight loss. Really he is just skin and bones at this point. My neighbor, a retired nurse, said that men do get osteoporosis.

I am just going to pray that by morning we see some improvement.

@SurrenderDorothy how about a check-in? Curling up in a ball and hiding sounds appropriate to me. But do let your friends here know how you’re doing. Any Dopers know Dot IRL?

We’ll be waiting to hear. Hope you rest and some nice food or relaxation of your choice.

Boo

I’m getting there. Working on getting through the day. My lord, it’s still only Monday. Seems like it’s been Monday for six months or so.

Evening all. Let Culver’s tend to dinner (I’m not all that fond of their ‘butterburgers’, but love them crinkle-cut fries) and the dishwasher is washing right now. Not much else going on, I think I will get out more tomorrow, there are several things I want to get done.

Right now vacuuming will probably be my evening’s entertainment. Looks like the rain from the storm/hurricane are going east of me, so may have to drag the sprinkler out and put it to work.

Got a letter that I should start to get my monthly annuity payment starting the 10th of September. Won’t be a huge amount and I really don’t need it right now, but I’m damned if I’ll let the big annuity companies get any of my money without me getting a chance to spend it. And I plan to live long enough to spend all of my money and get some of the interest they’ve been accruing, too.

Everyone have a good night now.

Oh, honey… I’ve been worried about you. I hate sliding into that dark place where you can’t see one speck of daylight. Lord, I’m acquainted with that location. Don’t work at it too much… just coast if you can. Life can be very hard sometimes under the best of conditions, and you have a bunch of stuff on your plate. I’m so sorry. I don’t know if it helps, but ThelmaLou is holding you in a big virtual hug all evening and all night, too. Really. {{{Dot}}}

I hope the meds give your hubby some relief soon butters.

{{{OW}}} I miss ruble too,

shoe, no love for mashed potato pierogis? When I go up to my dad’s for Thanksgiving, I make pierogis, galumpki, haluski, etc in large enough quantities for the turkey day meal and individual portions for the freezer. For an 82 year old man who pretty much has everything he wants / needs, this is something that I can do that brings him joy.

{{{dot}}} I hope that the worst of this mess is over. Don’t give up. You have friends with big shoulders here who love you. This crew has gotten me through a couple of surgeries and some other stuff, we can be here for you too.

I had a Zoom meeting with the chief security officer of our North American operations this morning to make some process changes that (hopefully) will cut down on some of the losses we’ve been experiencing recently.

I got a package of masks from Sis in the mail today. It was hard to pick out the ones to keep and the ones to take to irk. :slight_smile: I love my sissy.

For those in the storms’ paths / aftermath, be careful!

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

O blessed and o cursed gods, let it rain. The Oracle of Teh Googlez claims the local hyoomidity is 84% which is a weeensy bit high by my standards thankyouverymuch.

Short sort today. I napped a bunch, and went on a beer run.

I hear you about 2020. I’ll join you in the roast. {{{{OW}}}}

No, you’re doing your best in a stressful situation.
{{{{bButters[/b]}}}}

Hang in there Dots {{{{hug}}}} And what Butters said.

MG, you’ll make it, and we’ll celebrate :slightly_smiling_face:

Another long Moanday. Managed to get everything on my T2D list done. Yay me!

Fun toddler “reading” story: Oldest Nephew’s favorite book when he was 2 was “Hand Hand FIngers Thumb” *. Every time we go to the page where a hand picks and apple and a hand picks a thumb, we had to stop and “pick” the pictures of the apples and plums. Had to. The page could not be turned otherwise.

*One thumb, one thumb drumming on a drum Dum-ditty-dum-ditty-dum-dum-dum. It’s still stuck in my head 20 years later.

I skimmed over this. Congrats!! :partying_face:

Oh, and thank you @SCAdian I sincerely appreciate it

from ThelmaLou——I’ve been worried about you. I hate sliding into that dark place where you can’t see one speck of daylight. Lord, I’m acquainted with that location. Don’t work at it too much… just coast if you can.

All of this from me also (I can’t write as well as they do).

Please touch base often and ‘talk’ to us lots.

I’m here to tell you the ECT travail will get easier, the brain fog will fade and you are better off without that roommate.

I plan a bonfire with mine on December 31. I’m going to be up anyway to make sure this (expletive) year LEAVES.

DH is still on the mend. The dry pool divers at irk are still quite irksome, and they come in two varieties, callers, and co-irkers. Traffic also had a strong element of stupidity. All this plus heat plus crappy “air quality” plus hand/wrist/arm pain makes for a grouchy girl at the end of the day. Trying to motivate for a more substantial/nourishing dinner than chocolate ice cream.

And you call yourself a Texan! :stuck_out_tongue:

When my great nephew was a pre-schooler (gasp! he’s 21 now!), his favorite book was No, David
No David

The only words in it were No, David. I think he got a big kick out of it because his dad’s name is David and it was a bit of turning the tables. :slight_smile:

Milk and cream have protein. Chocolate comes from a plant. Balanced meal.

Dot: depression is a trickster. It convinces its victims the dark stuff is reality and will never get better. It’s very good at BS. It says people would be better off if…and nope, they won’t. Let me tell you, we’d be heartbroken–heartbroken–here if anything happened to you. We don’t know you IRL, but we know the you that’s beneath the depression crud, and we care about you a lot.

It sounds to me like it’s time to call in the cavalry. Try TaskRabbit (www.taskrabbit.com) for any handyman work you need done. They’ll give you a list of handymen (handypersons?) in your area you can call. I’ve used the site, and it was a godsend. The mess? OK, mess makes me miserable, so I get that it’s hard to let it go. Call a housecleaning service and let them do the work for you. If you need to pre-clean, throw everything into laundry baskets and stick 'em in a closet. Some cleaners will handle the clutter, too.

If you feel you can’t cope–and there’s no shame in that–go to the ER. Or call someone to take you. Or call an ambulance. If it weren’t for these #*$@%! insurance companies, you wouldn’t have been sent home on your own without a support network in place. If you need to be hospitalized in a psychiatric ward, then that’s what you need. I’m not saying you do, just that it’s a viable option. Boo has actual experience in this, and you should trust he. Kitty Dukakis, who fell into a deep depression after her husband’s failed 1988 presidential bid, had ECT for a long time and credits it for saving her life and giving her her mind back.

TL; DR Do whatever you need to do to survive. Later, when the ECT treatments start to work, you can live more fully. We need you.

purple, I’d like a postcard! I’ll send ya one back!
Moooom That makes sense… hope ya got a nap later!

(((Dots OW Butters))))

So very tired. Life is kicking my butt right now…

Did manage a cheeseburger (patty, cheese, bun). Maybe I should eat an apple, since I have some rather nice golden delicious on hand.

This was not the day I planned out last night. First, I got embroiled in a family history question that actually did need resolution. Then my toaster quit. That is, it started smoking. I think it was peer pressure. I tried cleaning it. No go. I’ve had it 11 years. Maybe it was time to let it go. So I walked to the three stores in walking distance that might have toasters. Ha. Most of them had display models only. The only toasters in stock had fire hazard warnings in the reviews. I came home and ordered a toaster. It’ll be here in 2 long weeks. Hmph.

OW, I miss Rubles. I’m sorry you lost another friend. Why can’t bad stuff stop happening long enough to let us get our feet under ourselves? And if you need weenies for the weenie roast, I could nominate a few. :slight_smile:

Moooom, Roxy’s at a hard age. When it comes to sleep, then as Ringo said, “You know it don’t come easy.” Hope she learns to self-soothe soon. (i’m still working on it, myself.)

Butters, you’re a good wife in rough circumstances. I hope the house call yielded a good treatment plan.

Thel, you’re good people.

Boo, you, too.

Thanks everyone. And Dots please take Nellie’s great advice. If money is a problem let me know and I can spare enough for a cleaner. Just don’t hurt yourself. You have worth. Eventually it will all be sorted. Please PM if you want or need to.
