I got to witness a full-blown Roxy tantrum when her papa carried her out of the playground. She was not happy to be leaving. They left and I sat in the parking lot ordering pizza for supper, which I picked up on the way home. We are now ingesting said pizza.
They’re a bit rubbish. A lot of businesses have failed due to Covid interruptions, and it was a miracle that I found this job as it was.
I’m not surprised, all things considered, that it worked out this way, but I am really disappointed that my hopes have been dashed and my new plans for my future remain out of reach.
Howdy Y’all! Sloth and general overall laziness have ruled the day. The sun came out for a bit but it got all dreary and overcast again. Good day to be inside IMHO. We also supped up various leftovers.
Thanks for all the critter pics. Almost made a grumpy old man smile.
I’m sorry about the job bat boy. I hope that you find something else soon.
Nelson seems to have bounced back and then some. We played fetch for about half an hour before I fixed supper. To add to all of the adorable pet pics, here’s one of him:
It’s a rainy afternoon here, but I’m ready for the weekend. Tomorrow will be the usual house cleaning and Saturday, SIL and I will make our annual pilgrimage to the Dutch Maid Bakery for pumpkin bread and gingersnaps. It will be cool enough for Nelson to come along for the ride. I’ll move his bed to the back seat and put his blankie in it.
Did my first drive home from the shop in the dark in about 2 years. I forgot how much I hate driving at night. These new headlights are just too bright, one shouldn’t have spots in your vision from cars going the other way. Plus it’s really windy and my truck was gettin’ shoved around.
Thanks for the pet pics, all. Skritches as needed!!
Birthday luncheon for one of the Account Executives today, and the company bought. We were sent a menu last week. I wanted a steak salad, but we were asked to choose things that were $15 or less and the steak salad was $17. The other keto-friendly item was a salad with grilled chicken breast. It was kind of the same as the steak salad, but didn’t have blue cheese (for one thing). Since that was my only other option (unless I wanted carbs), I chose that. It was OK. Not as good as my usual Cobb salad from Trader Joe’s, but it filled me up.
The pisser is that a cow-orker got the steak salad. She said she wanted it, and emailed the admin saying she’d Venmo the two dollars to whoever was paying for the lunches. I wish I’d thought of that, but I was embarrassed I’d missed the price limitation when I replied to the email last week.
Not a bad day today, has been a bit cloudy.
Echo seems to be better. She hit the ground running this morning.
We went to the park and she ran around as usual, although she was a bit grumpy when other dogs tried to get her to play. She preferred people to dogs this morning.
Well, good news from my sister: she went for the ultrasound-guided biopsy today, but the radiologist decided there was nothing to biopsy. I don’t know why they couldn’t have decided this at the ultrasound-only appointment, but whatever. She’s in the clear.
As for the itching, I’m finally reaching the end of my rope. Turns out I was misinformed: they WEREN’T waiting for insurance approval. That’s a given with Medicare. No, they were waiting on their own business office to call me to discuss payment before they’d schedule me. NINE DAYS that took! I was ready to forgive all because at least I could set up an appointment, but noooooo. When the appointment desk called, they said the medication for injections hadn’t arrived yet. It takes FOUR WEEKS once ordered, and it was only ordered TWO DAYS AGO (8 days after I saw the doc). Holy crap. I can’t wait that long. I think I’ve been pretty patient. I don’t know what to do. The appointment person said she’d msg. the doc to ask for compassionate something-or-other that might get me and the med in somewhat sooner.
I am LOVING the pet pics! How in the world did all of you end up with such beautiful, endearing pets? Not a picklepuss in the bunch! Seeing your lovable critters is almost as comforting as having my own.
A nurse called me back. She said–rather brusquely–that there’s nothing that can be done to speed things up, and I’m just going to have to wait the 4 weeks for the med to come in, at which point they’ll call me to set up an appointment, probably a few weeks after that. I’m embarrassed to admit I started crying and told her if she could itch for one day like I have for two months, she’d understand why I just can’t wait that long. She said the Xolair comes from a specialty pharmacy, and there’s no way to put a rush on it, but she’d ask the doctor what he’d recommend. Since he had no other recommendations at my appointment, I’m not holding my breath.
I’m starting to wish I’d never moved here. Wyoming is f’d up in many ways, but the medical system worked a lot faster there. It seems to work a lot faster just about anywhere else but here.
