Even after reading this entire thread it’s still hard to believe that this has happened. I am another person to whom Norine offered kind words and an offer of friendship many years ago when I was having a tough time.
She was a delightful person and a sweet and kind soul. We will all miss her so very much…

I don’t remember interacting with her, but I do remember reading her posts. They showed her to be a smart, funny, good-natured person who loved her family fiercely. The board and the planet are a little less for her not being here.
I also liked her a lot and am very sorry to hear this sad news. My condolences to her family.

Two things: the In Memoriam thread needs updating, and can we put a custom tag on her handle saying that, or some other pertinent title? Seems appropriate to me.
I usually wait about a week before updating the In Memoriam thread (although we’ve had several days of posts about norinew already, so I could do it sooner if I get the time). We don’t do custom tags for people who’ve died. The admins move them into a different user group so the account is no longer active but doesn’t say “banned.”
norinew is one of a very few posters who I think of as “extra people” - she wasn’t just her, she was you guys, her family. When I think of her, I think of her children. I suspect she would have been very happy to hear that.
My thoughts are with you all.
This is so sad. I didn’t know Norine personally, but reading her posts over the years I’ve always thought of her as an exceptionally kind person, and like RNATB said so well, when I thought of her, I thought of her family.

Arielle, something else to know about your Mom is that she was universally liked. There are several posters in this thread who think that I should take a long walk off of a short pier and I think the same of them. And yet we’re all universal in our respect and admiration of your mom. The way she resonated with people of all different perspectives and outlooks was nothing short of incredible.
Most of these threads last a page or two. This one’s sure to hit 10.

I keep thinking, “But she was just here - she can’t be dead.” I can’t even imagine how it is hitting her family.
