She’s not trying to overthrow the government. Even if what she said was sincere (and it fucking WASN’T!), there is nothing inherantly treasonous to say, “The enemy actually treated me just fine. But the US soldiers are committing crimes.” If you can PROVE otherwise, then we can talk.
Again, if someone is under duress, if they are being forced at GUN POINT to make a statement, then most reasonable, intelligent individuals are willing to assume that said person isn’t acting of his or her own free will.

The single most important thing is survival, all else is secondary to that, and if the choice is making a statement or dying you make the statement. Period.
