In a Perfect Day MMP

Howdy Y’all! I did laundry, stowed it where it stays until dirtied and made sup which has been et. I did not leave da cave today even though I should have gone over to the church house to do a few things. Oh well, there’s always tomorrow. Or Thursday. Or Firday. Or Sattidy. OK, needs to be tomorrow. I opened windows in da cave again. 'Twas nice but closed ‘em around three cause it was commencin’ to get warmish.

Alien yay for recovery and shower!

{{{Nettie}}} glad your toof is gettin’ fixed right. Go after that dentist!

Oh, I mailed off a poop sample this mornin’. I wonder if our mail carrier knows that was what was in that envelop when she took it outta da mailbox. The mail label was to the lab at the local horsepistol.

ETA: gotti seems the surgery went well. Hope you recover soonest.

You really have to wonder about people who walk into a dog park carrying a bag of McD’s food.

My directv bill just went up, I love the way they send you a notice. I’ve been wanting to cancel but I thought I was still under contract. Of course when I call to cancel they may make me an offer, but since I only watch about 5-6 channels, and I mostly don’t care about them, I’m going to be a hard sell. And I’m mad that I didn’t get a warning about the price going up.
There is nothing on tv worth $95/month.

Perhaps there is a suicide clause in their life insurance.

Today, I at long last solved the sound problem in my gaping money hole (also known as my RV). After much time thinking on the problem and checking various things, I was finally able to come to the conclusion that it was likely the amplifier or the noise filter, or both, that had gone toes up. I found the parts online for about $20 total, they arrived yesterday, and I installed them today.

It was with much trepidation that I plugged the rig into shore power and powered up the DVD player and TV. Glorious stereo sound immediately bathed my aural appendages. It made me positively giddy with joy.

Now bear in mind that while I was trained as an electrician, auto electronics is mostly a mystery to me, so I may be forgiven for having a swelled head about this. But I probably saved about $200 it would have cost to take it to a repair joint. Plus, my wife thinks I’m a god.

A state of affairs much to be desired.

I am much saddened by the Notre Dame fire. I don’t generally have much use for organized religion, but the loss of something that has meant so much to so many people for so many years is very sad. :frowning:

I had some luck today. I stopped by Bi-Mart to pick up ** Wifey**'s prescription this afternoon and it was lucky number Tuesday, (like it is every Toosday). I won! Twice! I won my choice of 4 different prizes. (Wifey had me pick the hand-held vac), and 'cause my member ID # ended in the lucky number, I also won a pack of Oreo cookies.

I bought lottery tickets.

Chicken fajitas for dinner tonight. :stuck_out_tongue: Thought you’d want to know.

Pretty sure Chefguy saved a lot more than $200. A shop would charge that for parts, plus labor. Never mind the inconvenience of having to drag the rig off to the shop. Mobile electronics can be baffling. Compared to regular home wiring, the colors are wrong, and the whole thing with the vehicle frame being the return conductor and all of the ground loop problems that can cause, it’s horrible!

Got my short term disability leave paperwork started today. My surgery was a bit more than first planned, so two days off morphed to two weeks. Now to figure how to amuse myself for two weeks.

When my car went in for the airbag recall, I had them do the inspection since it was already there. I missed the fact that I was missing a side marker light. They called & told me it was $40 (!) to replace. I stopped at the car parts store on the way there & picked up a bulb - cost $1. When I walked into the service desk with the bulb, he told me he’d cut the cost to $20. I told him no & asked where my car was. Because it was backed in tight against the shrubbery & I didn’t have the key it took me a long time, about 3 mins to replace it myself because it was hard to open the hatch/rear door. No tools required. 5 mins = $39 savings.

What about the live one tied up in the back seat?

Cook, so you are Thor all over?? But congrats on solving the problem (new ones will be along shortly).

Bumba, if you don’t want the Oreo’s, you can send them to me…

Sari, they will get the undivided attention of every dog there…and congrats on getting the taxes worked out. I’m keeping direct TV, not that I watch it much but it fits in my budget without discomfort so guess I’ll keep it around.

Ruble, I’ll probably be looking at new tires later this year, the ones the new car comes with aren’t usually good for more than 20-30,000 miles and I’m there.

Alien, enjoy the shower.

gotti, no punching the walls…and two weeks on the MMP isn’t so bad.

LA John, how long do the batteries last normally?

Watches soccer on the TV and then went out to coach the 8/9-year olds. Don’t know why, but I have more trouble with that age group than any others, getting them to listen and learn anything is an uphill struggle. All this while the parents watch from the sidelines and (in my imagination) giggle and chortle watching me struggle…

Internettin’ for most of the evening, then some reading.

Johnny, as my Toyota aged, there were things I took it to other shops for since the dealership would not install aftermarket parts.

May your recovery go well gotti.

Yay for a shower alien!

Tomorrow, I get the joy of riding herd on the cycle counters while they count the inventory we brought in from Texas after the ICE raid (one of our third party vendors with a metric shit ton of our inventory). We’ll see just how well they kept our stuff accounted for.

[QUOTE=Spiderman;21594530What about the live one tied up in the back seat?[/QUOTE]

I, er, “rescued” her, and she was very grateful.

What a day. I did something yesterday I have never done. I requested permission to close on Firday or a half day on Firday or if not that then let me be closed the usual half day on Sat. All my two staff want off for the “holiday” which is not a holiday at all and we are closed on Sunday anyway. New director told me to pull sales figures for the last two years for Firday and Sat before Easter. When I did that this morning we were busy during the time frames so I sent him a mail to forget it as we need the revenue. He wrote me back that money is not the be all end all and his philosophy is people first then facilities then customers. He said he will run it past the CO.

He also put out a long touching email about the auditors findings. In a word Sloppy. I know for a fact I had no hits so everyone else was sloppy. I wrote him that in my opinion he is not to blame as he has only been in the job six months and the auditors only come once every two years. I asked would we see the auditor report??? He wrote back that he appreciates what I said and he just wants everything to be better for everyone. I still want to see the report or at least the section that pertains to me. Rumor is that there were no hits to my facility or program and some of the sloppiness is due to him just trying to get through the Airshow. I have a new found respect for this man and actually feel a little sorry for him. That may change tomorrow if he does not allow me close. Lol. Not really. We are a huge department with many activities. He is a former auditor himself so he may have been held to a higher standard.

I have an appointment to get my hairs done tomorrow but think I will have cancel as noobs are irking and I need to be there plus still working on the budget and “spring break” continues for the rest of the country that has not already visited this year. My busiest months are June and July. Can’t do it unless I get a break.

I have read some and retained none. So burned out. So Rosie’s sig.

Worked, laundered. Came home, and found out Gordie had had some intetinal distress.

Got swept tonight. I have as many playoff goals this season as Sidney Crosby.

Yay for showering ,Alien!

Hope you get the express healing, gotti.

Don’t be silly; when you have a car with a big trunk you take advantage of it!

I went with Generals this time around from the dealer as they had the car already for the other stuff making it really easy and their price was really fair. Last time around (ap. 45k ago) they pissed me off so I went to NTB. I had a slow leak near the sidewall (too near as far as I was concerned), roughly 10 pounds of pressure every 16 hours. NTB could take me NOWNOWNOW and the dealer wanted me to wait three days until they had an opening. I have a compressor at home, a portable air tank and a portable compressor sooooooo --------- but for some reason it just pissed me off to no end and I went to NTB. They are back in my good graces so I gave them the nod this time around.

She only charged him double. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am very happy for both of you!

Up and at ‘em. Well, awake. With a major **Blurfage **. I guess I slept OK but not enough. Tahred already. Bum knee bothering me. I need to call Ortho Doc to see if my insurance approved the injections of rooster cartilage. The shots are a series of three each knee and cost over $500 each else I would pay out of pocket. I will just suffer if they are not approved. Freaking insurance. I pay enough for it.

My car is due for service, overdue and has a funny little noise like a bearing or tire going bad so I really must get that done. Dammit, always something. I don’t have time for it. I hope my main clerk has thoughly enjoyed her two weeks off as she can’t be off anymore anytime soon. I have a new full time girl starting at the end of the month which will relieve some pressure once she is trained. Training takes a mo th and is never ending.

Ok gotta get at it. Have a nice day All!

My buddy Mel got me thru the night and I’m feeling almost human today! I dreamed I encountered 2 boys I used to babysit in college - they were now teenagers. Except IRL, they’d be in their mid-to-late 40s! When did that happen??

Lots of work awaiting me - Josh’s project is close to the end, but Tim is behind on one of his, so I’m shifting gears from the Abrams tank to an aircraft trainer for Brazil. Luckily, I just draw the stuff - I don’t have to worry about design.

Onward into the day! Happy Wednesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 54 Amurrkin out and daylight (I assume that is what clear means) with a predicted high of 84 and mostly cloudy for the day. I shall lay in some provisions and then go over to the church house to begin assemblage of the bench I kinda, sorta, maybe, promised to have ready for the doggie park this week. Sup shall be soup 'n sammich over to the church house. Tomorrow starts the Holy Week marathon of services.

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas, alack, and bother, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Life is just so difficult!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

That was weird… I decided to Google one of the “kids” I’d dreamed about, since he had an unusual name. I found him and discovered his dad (my former classmate) died 2 years ago - he was only 66.

No needs for hugs or anything - it’s not like Mike and I were great friends. In fact, I kinda got pissed at him when he divorced the boys’ mother, tho I know nothing of the circumstances. I guess my point, if I have one, is that the internet is pretty amazing for digging up stuff you didn’t know you forgot. OK, back to work.

Butters, hope you can get the time off around Easter. I’ve been working extra hours this week so I can take a half day on Friday to attend church. My lucky duck husband works for a Catholic college, so Good Friday is a paid holiday for them.

Irking. My boss keeps expecting me to read her mind about what she wants. “Create a checklist.” Ok, done. “No, you didn’t do it right. On this checklist, I want pictures calling our everything on the checklist.” Um, we’ve never done that on a checklist. How am I supposed to know you want something totally atypical without you telling me? Starting over… blurfage
