In a Perfect Day MMP

**Juliet **- silly woman! Don’t you know you’re supposed to be psychically linked to your boss and her innermost thoughts and desires? Not only professionally, but you need to *know *when she wants a donut or a foot rub! What kind of underling are you??

Happy Hump Day!

It looks to be another nice day with a high of 68.

Got Ripple off to daycare, so I can get some stuff done around here.
Adam was so funny this morning. He wanted out, but just as he got outside the chicken I was warming up for Ripple’s breakfast was done. He wanted right back in because he wanted some chicken too. My son didn’t believe me until he saw how Adam will chow down on chicken.

I called to cancel directv and they talked me into keeping it, and gave me a much lower rate.

Blurf.

Weird dream last night, I was somewhere with a number of my (deceased) relatives reading a book and then I had to leave for dinner at another place with other (deceased) relatives and had a conversation with George Will and two others I can’t remember (one was a woman), but I had to leave to go back to get my book, which was floating in a pond in the house…and then I woke up.

I very, very seldom remember dreams, but that one must have impressed me…

Anyway, 72F outside heading for close to 80F and N.O.S. outside. Need to head to Staples in a bit to pick up some stuff, break fast food has been consumed so all I need to do is dress for the occasion. Then soccer with the 6 year olds this afternoon.

Hang in there Butters, hope you get the time off and the car gets feeling better…cheaply.

Sari, I’ll have to remember to try that when my DirectTV subscription comes up for renewal.

Juliet, does she have pointy-hair?

ruble, I usually go to a local Pep Boys for tires, but considering I do it every 6 years or so, I’m not committed to them, so might see what the dealer offers.

OK, enough prevaricating; need to get things done.

I guess I am going to the armpit for Easter.
I wasn’t planning on it, but it has been assumed I will show up, so I guess I am.
I have some things for Niece1’s daughter, so I can give them to her then.

MetalMouse, I think it is the latest trend with companies. I call to cancel OnStar and get a better rate, I go online to cancel Sirius and get a better rate. I called to cancel Adobe and got 3 months free.
Too bad I can’t do that with water, gas, and electric.

Indeed.

Made the trip to Staples and since I was out, also stopped at Kroger for the mid-month replenishment. In now and there I plan to remain for several hours until soccer at 5pm.

ehh this easter id rather go out somewhere to eat and go see a movie or something … its gonna be grim for reasons stated above …

Our Easter family gathering will focus on baby birthdays. I’m looking forward to seeing the babies interact with each other. Too bad we live so far apart or they’d get to know each other better.

Much adulting and now its almost time to leave for work. Will wolf down some leftover pizza and run shortly.

Home. yay. Today is SIL’s mother’s b-day so they’re all going there for dinner. **FCD **and I will dine alone on steak, salad, and whatever sides I decide to make. That’s pretty much the excitement for the rest of the day.

Still have 2 hours to go… then quickly chowing down on some pizza before taking the little ones to swim class.

My parents are coming up from Illinois for Easter, so my family will head over to my brother’s house to gather. Children will play, food will be eaten, and I will not have to clean up after my parents. I’m bringing Jell-O Eggs. Yes, I still have one of those molds from 90s.

And the verdict is we can close at 1pm on Firday and remain closed until Moanday when we will reopen and catch hell from all the customers we have inconvenienced but sucks being them. Didn’t hurt that the Marketing lady sent out the latest synopsis of the comment cards collected from our box and they were all so good the Director forwarded them to the entire department. The Lord works in mysterious ways. Now if only he/she will write the budget we will be square.

Yay for an early day Friday butters!

Poor Gordie. Give him some skritches from me doggio.

Juliet, I once asked my boss to improve his communication skills by telling him that I couldn’t read his mind and it would likely scare the hell out of me if I could. He got the picture. :stuck_out_tongue:

I opened up the mail this afternooon. There were two envelopes from my auto insurance company. One was a check for $50 for safe driving  (for those who haven’t been keeping score, two accidents in the last 7 months) and the other on telling me that my rates wouldn’t be increased because of the last one (no big surprise, TN statute limits the deductible for uninsured motorist coverage and forbids raising the rates for that reason as well).

I’ll be attending the annual spring picnic with the heathens on Easter. I shall bring a dozen filled aigs and some sweet potato-black bean enchiladas. We’re having it at Shelby Park again. We hadn’t had it there for a few years, so it will be nice.

Howdy Y’all! Provisions were procured and then I spent several hours at the church house takin’ care of stuff (the bench is now assembled and will go live at the doggie park on Sattidy), had soup 'n sammich and Lenten program, and hauled all three biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig trash cans down to where they go for pickup tomorrow. Two lights are out at the High Altar. However, they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay up high and will need to be replaced by electricians with one of those cherry picker thingies or a very, very, very tall ladder. Thus, they shall not get replaced before Sunday. Life be that way sometimes.

hey swampy theres a debate going on in another thread about cornbread ya need to weigh in on
https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=874099

Soccer coached and dinner consumed. Internettin’ for the balance of the evening.

The three hour drive became almost five, but dinner has been consumed & belly us full.

Apparently I am on the express plan. My surgeon said with all seriousness that workers comp carpal tunnel surgery recovery takes five weeks, and two weeks for non-WC. In her experience, WC patients hate their jobs and “need” more time away from work.

I would go stark raving nanner nutters to be off work with nothing to do for five weeks. Recovery from spinal fusion a few years ago was dreadful. I’ve got things I’d like to do around the house but with my dominant hand splinted and wrapped, I have a hard enough time with eating. At least Siri can generally figure out what I’m trying to dictate.

You are a good man Swampy. Actually I think. We are all good ppl or goodish. Tahred but as per usual I am wide awake in the middle of the night. May have to sleep with Ben as Mel is unavailable at the present. Safety first.

I forgot to call the Knee doc but got home to a letter from insurance approving the shots. It was a crazy day and tomorrow will be as well but an overall good day.

i have a few ouchies… I was helping my aunt do some yard work and i packed a trash container full of weeds and it was still packed when I dumped it the yard bin but it didn’t go in so i decided to climb up and stomp it with one leg on the thing i use to climb in and one leg in the cam
i fell through because it wasn’t at the bottom and was stuck with one leg in and one leg out and the lower half of me hurts now …

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 84 and either mostly N.O.S. or cloudy for the day. TWPTB are all willy-nilly about that. Allegedly rain will move in tonight and be with us tomorrow. The main excitatement of the day shall be hangin’ at da cave to wait on FedEx to deliver meds which they say should be by noon. Also, I purchased two rockin’ chairs for the back porch yestiddy that must be assembled. That shall occupy my time whilst I wait upon FedEx. This afternoon I shall betake myself over to the church house to take care of some duties and then back this evenin’ for Maunday Thursday service. It’s just another manic Maunday.

Butters yay for the knee shots bein’ approved.

Shades oucie! Hope you’re not too sore today. Also, I weighed in on the great cornbread debate. Hopefully the heathen will reform their ways and no longer put sugar in cornbread. Quelle Horreur!!!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the day. Rah.

Happy Thursday Y’all!
