I napped off and on all day and now have a massive headache. Ibuprofen has been ingested so we shall see if that cures it.
Lazy day which is what I needed.

Howdy Y’all! Been a bzzy day. Took care of things over to the church house, then back to da cave where massive amounts of cookin’/prep for tomorrow have been accomplished. OYKW made the cheesecake and it looks sooooooo nummy! We had a late N.O.L./early sup of majik intartoobz pizza. In a while we shall head on over to St. Paul’s for the Vigil of Easter. 'Tis a service we both enjoy. I put up a couple of pictures of the High Altar all ready for Easter over on the book of faces. Not great pics but the Altar looks really good. The flower guild outdid themselves!
Eggs are all packed and ready to go. There’s a pic on FB if you want to see the colors I chose. I’ve got a few more dishes to do, then it shall be veg till bed.
Busy busy day!
Well, I figured out what to do with myself sans soccer…which was basically nothing. Internettin’, nappage, drove out to pay gas bil, watched more Utube stuff, and now get to eat dinner at Golden Corral. So exciting…
swampy and all y’all religious folks, the heathen will abide but enjoy the day.
Butters, hope the head stops aching.
shady, you’re the first (I think) MMP’er who knew where my name comes from.
Happy Fingers, three scorpions in the house…think I will stay in Alabama, or maybe move to Alaska–you can never be too careful…
Bumba, hope the dryer can be repaired; but $500 sounds like a lot for a replacement.
FCM, saw the pictures of the eggs, they are…most interesting…
Off to eat Pot Roast, Noodles w/gravy, soup n salad, and dessert at GC.
Have a Happy Easter everyone.
Moooooom, so you’re going for a (FL) Gator cake?
bumba, if I’m fixing more bacon than for just me, I do it in the oven, but for just me, it’s easier to do it on top of the stove, since I’m usually frying aigs to go with and put them in teh same skillet about halfway through the bacon fryage and in the yummy bacon grease.
metal mouse, when I bought my washer/dryer 2 1/2 years ago, an entry level dryer (mine) at Lowe’s was $400. One at $500 is well within the low end of the spectrum.
Went to the PO and bought stamps today. I had plenty of the American flag ones that I use to mail bills, but wanted some pretty and festive ones to mail cards with. One of the designs I got was Scooby Doo. How cool is that?
I’m getting a new neighbor next door. He’s just getting out of medical rehab and his sister is supervising the move. The kids she hired to do the furniture schlepping pulled the U-Haul into the side yard (a no-no) to avoid 30 feet more of schlepping and got it stuck in the mud from the rain. They called a tow truck who wasn’t about to back his rig into the mud and the winch wasn’t long enough to pull him out from the pavement. The sister wouldn’t spend the bux for the tow truck that’s used for weird spots and big trucks ($300 an hour :o ), so when I got back from the cheap Chinese with supper, there was an SUV that had backed in from the other end of the building (anything bigger wouldn’t have been able to do it because of the trees) and had him hooked up to a winch. I just looked out and they’re all gone. I hope that this isn’t a harbinger of what is to come.
Supper is et. I ordered house special soup and aig rolls and when I got home, found I had hot and sour soup and a pu pu platter for one. Oh, well, it was good. Now I need to prep the sweet potato black bean enchiladas for bakage tomorrow, prep a quick craft for the heathen children and fill a dozen aigs.
For those who observe, happy Easter and a blessed Passover.
**MetalMouse **- My youngest sis loves deviled eggs, and since it’s Easter, she demands they be dyed, so…
I just had a bowl of soup because I was hungry but I didn’t feel like cooking. I also closed up the house because it’s getting to be a tad cool. I’m almost ready for bed, but I’ll try to hold out a bit longer.
This is not a usual thing for me. I will be up late making the dough for croissants, for Easter dinner tommorow. I hadhalf a bottle of wine in the fridge, and I drank that. Now I have started on a bottle of spumante I got at the liquor store, when I got the yeast for the croissant dough. I feel kind of wobbly, but it is a fun and good woubbly, and I like it. I really hoe the croissant dough is finished properly. I do not krink much, but once in a while, in the safety of my home, it can be amusing.

We went out for Mexican food tonight. I had two 20 ox. margaritas. For some reason, this bowdlerised version of the song is stuck in my head.

Mrs. Plant, Yankee v.2.0 after laughing at Southerners dealing with snow, got her van stuck in 1" of snow. A guy in a pickup couldn’t get her out, so he went and got his Father’s big pick up and pulled her out. So much for regionalism.
I lile margaritas!![]()
You said it so well!!!
On other news, TPTB put out VET for tomorrow afternoon and I took it. Methinks, being as how we’re peasants and below notice, they haven’t noticed how few are Christian or even from this country/culture and are expecting a major call-off/no-show rate. I doubt it but 3 hours is 3 hours when I’m blowing off a couple days for Knoebels.
AND I MADE … ah, you know the rest. ![]()
golden corral won’t come back to my region … see years ago they were a bonanza/ponderosa/sizzler steak house type of place and when those fell of favor for a while ours closed … in fact some nights we were the only customers they get
Now we have no buffet type of place other than a Chinese buffet cause they let hometown buffet die by moving the guy who truly cared about the place and having new managers every month … less ya wanna go around the cluster fu-- that is our mall area between us and them … and i called the “dont have us send us your zip code ect” place and he said "wait we’ve been there before … and i explained and he well its doubtful it will ever come back because they don’t like do-overs …
got past egg dyeing and it went slower than usual because the dye wasn’t all that great and we didn’t have our usual horde of people … and by the time i decided ot help it was too late i was told …
Swampy we make a cheesecake type fo substance … one of those jello mixes … I have bought real cheesecake and no one cared for it so we stick to the mix…
off to more stuff for tomorrow …
Well, Dinner has been consumed at the Corral, the food was agreeable but they were out of glasses for water, out of knives (waitress got me one), and almost out of soup cups (got one of the last two). Either they have poor management or the dishwasher (machine) is the slowest in Western Christendom. But the brownies were good and my belly is full.
Having to make too many corrections to my typing, either I am holding the keyboard wrong (same as usual) or the Demon Murphy has gotten into it (or I am just a fumble-fingered typist, but I don’t normally make as many mistakes as Cupcakes does when she drinks…:D:p:cool:
Or maybe I’m more tired than I think. We’ll see if it improves tomorrow.
Howdy Y’all and Happy Easter. Yes, it is now Easter. The Vigil is a nice service that moves into an Easter Eucharist. Soon it shall be beddy bye time.
I play the annual game with Sirius/XM where they automatically charge my credit card, I call and cancel, they then turn around and give me a discount to stay…as long as I agree to automatic renewal…but, you can cancel at any time, and the bottom line is, they want your business and are more than willing to give you a discount to stay…
I do not know why The Ten Commandents has become an Easter movie, but it is on now. The Red Sea just swallowed up all of the host of Pharoah.
When I was in 2nd grade we were learning about the Exodus. I was kind of skeptical, and asked the teacher,* If we would go to the bottom of the sean now, would we find all those horses and chariots and soldiers?*
The teacher, instead of saying I should not question the word of God, or something condescending, simply said No. He explained that after dying that bodies went away, that metal rusted and wood fell apart. It was not what I wanted to hear but it was a straight answer.
I learned something that day, and have applied it later. I try never to talk down to kids. I think that is important
Headache did go away finally. I thought about you today Baker when I heard of the tiger attack at the zoo, I think in your town.
**MetalMouse ** I do not know from whence your name originates. Fill me in please.
My Easter shall consist of cookage of turkey, stuffing and green beans. I may make some deviled eggs. I never did get the laundry done today so that shall happen and the fridge needs cleaning and the bathroom floor needs mopping. That shall be enough for one day.
Here’s hoping those cramps don’t happen again tonight. Leg cramps are no fun at all. What causes those anyway? Mayhaps I was just relaxed and body said oh, hell no let’s wake her up. It’s almost midnight but I am not yet sleepy due to excess nappage today so may start another series. If you have Netflix and have not seen Rectify I recommend it highly. I am thinking I shall give Breaking Bad a looksee.
Night all and Happy Easter.
