In a Perfect Day MMP

nut, with the aux plug in, you should be able to hook your phone or mp3 player up to play your playlist. I don’t know about the UK, but here, radios are pretty inexpensive.

irked, grocery shopped and came home in the rain. Hit up the Captain for supper.

They installed a new stove for me today and left things as tidy as it could be with the things out of the bottom drawer and the spice racks beside the stove on the table and counter. They even replaced the lightbulb in the hall (I left an LED bulb and a note on the counter). I’ll likely pick up a couple of Starbucks cards for the manager and the new maintenance guy to grease the skids. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve just changed the focusing screen on my FM2N. I’ve never done it before, and the videos and images I found were not detailed enough. Fortunately, I found this on a message board:

The exact location was the thing I needed.

Of course I got some hairs (from the mirror pad) on the new one, but I had a brand-new lens cleaning cloth. I took the new focusing screen out, wiped it off with the cloth, and put it back in.

Also: I stopped by the car shop today. I asked the guy if I could have my Prius back by Monday afternoon. He said, ‘I think we can make that happen.’ That’s a good thing, as Tuesday is a commuting day. He gave me the 6-cell module that failed as a souvenir. (FWIW, there are 28 modules.)

Maybe they haven’t tried the right sauce yet? :stuck_out_tongue:

Been home from work for a while. I hit the hour cap this week so I basically went in to do an hour and then run. I resisted the temptation to pull up a chair in the break room, make some popcorn and play tourist ------------ because the one manager I do like, and who knows me all too well, informed me that he would choke the shit out of ,e if I did it. He knows me waaaaay all too well.

I had a bag of microwave popcorn on me.

So I had corporate visits all week , yesterday’s truck was 7 hours late, today’s truck will(maybe) be here tomorrow ,and I had a floater pharmacist yesterday that FUBARed things so bad, I had 3 official complaints.Thank God for beer.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 49 Amurrkin out and dark with a precicted high of 67 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Yestiddy’s rain brought in a little cool front. However, tomorrow is supposed to be mid 70s and N.O.S. which is nice for folks that will be doin’ activities like aig hunts outside. I shall head over to the church house this mornin’ to assist with gettin’ church proper all ready for Easter. I shall be showin’ a couple of folks how to put new wicks in the candles. I’m sure not all the candles need new wicks but all shall get new wicks. This evenin’ we shall attend The Vigil of Easter at the downtown Whiskypal church. All three churches get together for this and this year is St. Paul’s Church turn to host. Cookin’ for the feast after deheathenization tomorrow is also on the agenda. JDD and Partner and a two other friends are comin’ over and we shall feast around two p.m. Ham, collard greens, mac 'n cheese, butterbeans, deviled aigs, cornbread, and cheesecake are on the menu. OYKW will make his famous Noo Yawk style cheesecake whilst I am over to the church house. YUM!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, bother and alas, I must purtify and don appropriate goin’ about the public attire. Le sigh.

Happy Sattidy Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY METALMOUSE!!!

Happy MetalMouse Day!!!

Another weird dream last night, thanks to Mel. I was going to an exercise class before work, but I accidentally parked where I shouldn’t have and my car got towed, and no one could tell me where it was! Can you imagine?? Me going to an exercise class before work??? Weird!

Daughter will be photographing a middle school friend’s wedding today (they were friends in middle school, the bride is not currently a middle schooler…) and Roxy will be spending the day with her other grandmother. I’ve got 2 little cakes to make and decorate, 18 eggs to split, dye, and devil, and the usual laundry. Plus I think I’ll run to the credit union and try to get a crisp $50 to give to my nephew for his b-day. I was going to get him a savings bond, but you can only get them on line these days!

It rained all night and it’s still overcast. Hope it clears up for the wedding later this afternoon - it’s an outside event.

Happy Saturday!!

Holy foot and leg cramps. Why? There was no getting rid of them without just getting up and taking the dog for a walk.

I made my second smoothie this morning. It is so thick I am eating it with a spoon. I still haven’t gotten to the store for proper ingredients. I want to try some yogurt thanks Red and now I know I need lots of liquid so it won’t be so thick so I shall get some juices. I had a bag of frozen mixed fruit this morning and orange juice and skim milk but it was too thick. Tasty though.

My neighbor picked me up one of those tiny Butterball 7 lbs turkeys so I am gonna do turkey again in the pressure cooker. How did I ever live without this thing? I love it.

Doooggggiiiooooo your day sounded like some I have had lately. We are just too busy. We have already done over 80K$ which normally would be the entire month and there is still ten days or so left in the month. With an average ticket price of $39 that is a crap ton of tickets and people. I will be glad to have the holiday behind us and my main clerk back. One of my newer girls has really impressed me with how quickly she is picking up things.

I have laundry as usual but haven’t been here so the rest of the place is in good shape. Sad.

Happy Birthday **MetalMouse **. I hope you have a great day.

Happy Saturday!

Happy Birthday MetalMouse!

It’s a nice day, the sun is shining and the high will be 70.

It’s not just in the pit MetalMouse.

I, too, wish Bobbio would come back. He is a nice person.

Morning all and thank you for the Birthday wishes. I’m closing in on 2/3 of a century, so I don’t count them too much anymore, but man the years seem to go by faster these days…

Had an e-mail that my plane trip had changed, but the e-mail just didn’t read right and checking around I discovered it was a scam trying to get my credit details. But it had the flight information and other stuff right, which did concern me about airline and Expedia security.

The rain has pretty much left the area but it’s only 43F so the gas comapny will be happy when I turn the heat back up.

Now to figure out what to do with a Saturday with no soccer for the first time in 6 weeks…

Happy birthday metal mouse!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasting, towels in teh wash and the puppy crate cleaned.

While cooking the initial meal on my new stove, I found that the burners are much hotter than my old ones. I incinerated three strips of bacon  and currently have the door and wondows open to get the smoke out. I will need to scrub and reseason the cast iron skillet today.

The original plans today involved the purchase of some plants for the patio and transplanting them, but it’s spitting rain and is supposed to on and off all day. It’s cold here for mid April (yeah, I’m freezing with the doors and windows open), so I think I’ll wait until next weekend. I do need to go to Kroger for a new glucose meter today though. My old one brought up three error messages in a row this morning, even with strips from a different box. That is a sign that the meter is done for. Fortunately, they’re only ~$10.

After I showered and dressed, I ran to Food Lion for a few things. They still had the spiral hams on sale, so I grabbed one for the freezer. I also got a card and a crisp $50 for my nephew’s b-day gift.

Back home and the first load is in the washer, plus I loaded and started the dishwasher. Pretty soon, I’ll do the smash cakes and cupcakes so they’ll have time to cool for decorating. I’ve also got to devil the eggs. Onward!

Happy Metalmouseday!

Back from irk- bit of a slog today, it’s weirdly warm and muggy, as well as unexpectedly busy (people doing last minute trips to the seaside 'cos it’s sunny and warm). Not a lot of plans for the rest of the day; a bit more homework, a bit of tidying up, and that’ll be about it, I think. Maybe I’ll visit the allotment as well, I’ve not been in over a week and I really should, but I might combine that with checking on the bees tomorrow instead.

Second load in the washer, cakes and cupcakes in the oven. In case you were wondering, you can get 2 baby-sized smash cakes plus 18 cupcakes from one box of cake mix. At least you can using my recipe, which includes more stuff than the recipe on the box calls for.

I’ve got the butter out to soften for the buttercream frosting. Half will be purple, half will be green, per maternal requests. The lettering will be orange because FL didn’t have any yellow decorating frosting.

Once the baking is done and cooling, I guess I’ll attack the eggs. Oh, and the dishwasher is done. In case you were worried…

I’d prolly enjoy that more than Jesus Christ, Superstar, which I have seen.

We’ve discovered that cooking bacon in the oven is way easier than on the stovetop, and you can cook more at one time. Just lay your bacon out on a cookie sheet. (You can use foil iffen you want.) Put the cookie sheet in the oven before you turn the oven on to about 350. Takes between 12 and 18 minutes, depending on your oven. They go pretty fast in the last few minutes though, so check often towards the end.
Also, you can do them nekkid this way.

Our dryer is making horrible squeaking noises. Prolly a bearing. It’s not all that old either. The dryer it replaced was ancient. They just don’t make 'em like they used to.
Now Wifey and I will have to decide whether to buy a ~$500 dryer, or spring for one of the good ones.

BTW, Happy Birthday, RustyRat!!

I mentioned here before the glue boards that we have in places along the baseboard, little covered open on one end cardboard things. Their purpose is to catch scorpions, which don’t care for carpet and move along the baseboards. Yesterday the devil black cat, who previously got stuck on one when she reached in to retrieve a gecko she’d brought in, walked by one, humped up and jumped 2 feet in the air. Sure as hell, there were THREE trapped scorpions in that one.

Ah, Spring time in the AZ.

well no yard work but still holiday annoyances that wont end til wednesday probably overcast and windy today

hopefully, after egg dyeing, things will calm down

happy birthday slippery jim may you enjoy all the Parthian tiger sweat your liver can handle:p:D

Smash cakes and cupcakes are decorated. I am not a professional by any stretch of the imagination. But they’re done and by this time tomorrow, they’ll be destroyed.

**FCD **and I went to lunch at a new (to us) place - Smokey Joe’s BBQ. They used to be in Lexington Park, but now they’re in Leonardtown, taking over the former (awful) Urban BBQ. It was pretty good, if not up to par with Sonny’s or Woody’s. We’ll add it to our rotation. They get points for having Coke products instead of Pepsi.

Laundry is done and sticky frosting bowls are soaking. In a bit, I’ll clean the dishes, then attack the eggs. I’s pooped and it’s just 4PM!
