No. They aren’t perfect but they are done by active survey. Exit pollsters don’t stand around the polls waiting to see who volunteers to tell them the story of how they voted.

Well, there’s an unending stream of maroons who think saying atheism is a religion is a useful, accurate statement. And the maroons do it before the “not collecting stamps” line is trotted out. The line is an valid answer to a mostly mindless debate point, and it’s a lot more interesting than the statement it’s answering
There’s really no need to find new refutations to stupid statements.
Or atheism is a religion like silence is a musical genre. (And someone will always come along and mention John Cage.)
We need a version of Godwin’s Law or Rule 34, where one needs it pointed out to them that just because something happened to a woman, it’s because it happened to a PERSON, or even a sentient living being, and that it probably didn’t happen because she was a woman.

In every thread about homosexuality, there are always straight guys who begin their post with, “Now mind you, I’m 1000% heterosexual, I find the idea of having sex with another guy repugnant, but blah blah blah.”
Corollary - for every mention of Rush, someone will come in and say how they’re virtually unknown in their country.

In any thread about organic farming, someone will post the meaning of the word “organic” in the context of organic chemistry.
Every time someone posts a thread about some phenomenon they have noticed, perhaps in nature, society, IT or wherever, the first few posters will write replies that show they recognise the phenomenon and establish that the OP’s perception was accurate. But then someone else will come along, ignore those replies, and state that they have never noticed the phenomenon as if that is somehow interesting or important.
