In Memoriam -- Nov. 4, 1995 -- Yet Another Depressing MMP

Because every time I see your moniker, I am reminded of Harold and the Purple Crayon. To me, you LOOK like Harold (who I always found kinda hot–in a cartoony way…).

Considering that I was going to do it back on Saturday, I’m not sure I deserve any congratulations. But thanks. I also loaded, ran, and emptied the dishwasher. I’m good and loading and running it, but not so good at emptying, which makes it hard to load and run the silly thing again.

I learned this morning that the coat I got for $15 at the thrift store is going to keep me nice and toasty. However, both pairs of gloves I own are going to be totally inadequate for more than five minutes outside if it gets any colder…ten minutes if it’s like it was this morning. I think I may go expensive warm glove shopping this weekend. Or maybe I’ll just stay inside and drink hot chocolate instead!

So DB, would you like to come to Thanksgiving Dinner? There will certainly be plenty of food! laughs I think I’m definitely going to be busy w/preparations next Tuesday and Wednesday evening though–I’m not planning on taking any time off, as of now.

Have to laugh about Paula Deen - does she sponsor Land-o-Lakes or vice versa?!

But…

But…

I’m a girl!

It’s FUN being the only male in a house with two hormonal women, really it is.

Road trip!
Canes lost 6-1 tonight. the next day off is Turkey day, still gotta do laundry somehow.

MBG, both my females are fixed.

PurpC, cite?

Voila!

nothing of note to add other than I am leaving Firday morning to head up to metro Boston for a Mensa fling (which mainly involves a coupla of all night poker games and a lot of Mike’s Hard Lemonade) and Sunday brunch with the family - which means I have to miss my chorus’ show this weekend - they knew, they’'ve known for months, but they suddenly all seem surprised I won’t be there. Whatever.
I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow - I have to take the car in for winterizing first thing in the a.m. - then off to the salon, the car wash, the drug store, and a chorusmate’s house to drop off something they need for the show - then I fully intend to squeeze in a PT session - but it all depends on how exhausted I am. Then Firday morning, I pick up Cousin at the train and away we go. When I get there, bbs2k, I’ll wave - look for it sometime Firday evening

Yay! A face! Are you wearing purple in that pic? Because that would be so appropriate.

They are filming some kind of movie in our neighborhood, and as a result most of the streets within a five block radius have been deemed tow zones. It went into effect tonight - Cloud Maiden and I had a bitch of a time trying to get a parking spot after we made a run to Walgreens. The tow trucks are having a ball tonight. A LOT of people are going to wake up tomorrow and find their car gone.

I keep looking at that pic, but I can’t see a face.
Rosie, sorry for driving by, but how long are you in Boston for?

You vacuumed, snowbunny? I think I need photographic evidence – heaven knows I’ve never seen you vacuum!

Shadow, have you gotten your Harmony needles from KnitPicks yet? I ordered just a couple pairs of the Harmony needle tips to go with the interchangeable set I have – I like the metal tips, except not for lace, they’re too heavy for fine yarn – and they arrived today. They are amazing. My only problem with them? The lovely colors the wood is lacquered with make it very, very difficult to see one’s yarn when one is knitting in the same color palette. Oops. So I’ll have to find some other type of needles for lace work with dark yarn. I’ve hesitated to spend the $$ for the Addi Turbo lace needles, but I may have to, at least for size 4 and smaller (5 and up I can use my Denise needles) – the join has to be really, really smooth for lace work, which isn’t the case in most circular needles, including the bamboo ones I’ve tried. The frustrations of lace knitting just never seem to end!

ETA: Yay, first on page 6! My day is now complete.

Is it hometime yet? I’m so tired today, I don’t think I could be any more tired if I tried. Last night we went out with a couple of friends and stopped off at their house to pick up instructions for critter-feeding for next week. They’re going on holiday and we’re looking after a cat and three ferrets.

Then we did the sensible thing and went to the pub. This week it was the turn of the Jolly Crispin so we were supping pints of Crispy Nail so that was my third very late night of the week and now I’m wondering how I’m going to manage to stay awake all day and make it to Enzo’s Italian class tonight.

Great pic, CaterKid, but do you have any tissues handy? I think Doggio and VBob are still drooling.

And bb2k. All over the floor. We just got it clean in here!

Well, cleaner.

Sort of.

Anyway, I’m awake, and it’s 5:25. I’ve had a bath. I sincerely hope to go back to sleep after Mr. Lissar leaves for work. Five hours: not enough for grumpy pregnant lady. I just stubbornly woke up at 4:30.

So what? It’s your name, not mine…

It’s 0439 here and I’m off to work soon. Couldn’t sleep last night–too wound up. Am reading a funny book. More later. Happy Thursday all!

it’s raining, i’m caffeinated, and off to work. sigh.

I think it’s raining here, too - smells like it - but I haven’t actually looked out a window yet.

bbs2k - I’m actually going to be in Braintree and just for the weekend - email me - it’s in my profile

Heh.

::blushes, then runs off to start the workday::

Strange wet looking stuff is falling from the sky off and on. I wonder if Henny Penny, Goosey Loosey and Turkey Lurkey know about it. At least I think that’s the names of those characters. What do I know.

Up and caffienatin’ here. Soon Ima clean up and go to the store for serious grocery shoppin’. YeeHaa. I do not like grocery shopping, which is really strange considerin’ that I like cookin’. I’m a paradox. An enigma. And weird.

Ok, for real. I’m goin’. Really. In a little bit. Yep…

Ok, I just opened the thread, but I have to share some good news. Remember how much I’ve been complaining about this project? I got a wonderful e-mail I just have to share:

Woo and hoo!!! The design is frozen (basically) and I can go ahead and finish!

I’ll be back in a sec when I’m caught up…

Nice pic, Purplkid_Caterer! Nice to put a face with a name.

Swampus, we already knew that. I luuurve grocery shopping, though! that makes me weird, too, cuz most people don’t. It’s more fun than any other kind of shopping!

We got a cool front in! Yesterday was in the high 80’s - today it’s very low humidity and 60° when I woke up! Yay, it’s fall again! The dogs were ecstatic. They love cold weather.

Ok, back to work. But I’m happy about it today! (Sorta! ;))

Did I have enough exclamation points in there? No? Here’re some more!!!
