In Praise Of Mumpers A Pat On The Back Mmp

Poor penis? Ye gods–poor penis is not good on so many levels. I think we need some more detail to know just what kind of bad penis it was. Maybe it was just opening night jitters? Or wasn’t his penis dedicated to your pleasure, thereby enhancing his own?
I moved mulch for 6 hours today, but it was TH who did the most of the work. I also sprayed Round-up sparingly and spread mulch AND made cookies, so we might be even. (not really-he did a tremendous job–the mulch pile was the size of our Ford Explorer plus 2 Volvo station wagons–and about 5 feet high. It was a MOTHER load of mulch. I am sore, tired and my feet hurt.

Work the last 3 days was godawful-I don’t want to talk about it.

HOWEVER, Daughter is home from canoeing the boundary waters between Wisconsin and Canada, so all is good in my world.

Hope YOUR Saturday is good.

Daughter is home with her Brit friend again. She’s nervous about her interview - poor baby…

I’m tired - I should go to bed.

And a good night to you all! MWAH!!

I painted one wall and declared myself done for the day. I’m currently loafing, watching Bride and Prejudice and soaking my tired little feetsied. Went for a walk somewhere in there and also had some chocolate ice cream with some sesame-honey almonds thrown in.

Sounds like lots of work, rigs. I have mulch that needs to be moved, too - not nearly as much, though. Maybe once I’m done painting tomorrow.

Back to the important work of soaking feet.

GT

Home from work. Multiple no shows. On the bright side at least I have multiple replacements to choose from. Mild TMI:I’m trimming my ear and nose hair right now.

Sorry about the work, rigs.

Good luck to FCDaughter on the intervirew.

:scritches Bernie and SpaceDawg: :extra hugs for Nelly:

snowbunny, for $50, I won’t email that post to your mom. :stuck_out_tongue:

swampy, I need to win the lottery so I can do a Georgia road trip.(You, SCL, gay ex-roomie)

Sorry about the bad penis, Lit1.

A Slugs fan?

Yep, I’m up obscenely early again. Plus I’m already showered and I’ve put the caramel layer into the pie crust for the banoffee.

I may be the last person to have learned this, but if you want a yummy, soft caramel for some dessert application, you take an unopened can of sweetened, condensed milk (or multiple cans - I did 4 yesterday), put them in a pot and cover them with water, bring it to a boil, then reduce heat to just keep it boiling, and let it got for 3 hours, making sure to keep water in the pot. That’s it - when you open the can (after it cools) you’ve got a can of caramel. Easy-peasy. I had the perfect pot for making it (daughter’s, actually) - a tall one with a holey insert - I guess it’s a steamer pot - and a glass lid. The lid keeps all the water from evaporating away, the insert makes it easy to remove the cans from the water, and the glass lid makes it a no-brainer to monitor the water level.

I’ve decided against grubbing in the basement today. I think I’m going to sort thru and file the papers that have been accumulating on the desk. I expect I’ll find some bills that need to be paid, too. We leave for my sister’s house at 1. I hope to be home before 7. I can only take so much family, and it is 90 minutes away.

Be that as it may - Happy Sunday!!!

Does this bring any particular Mumper to mind??

Morning, everyone. Yes, that does remind me of someone.
Nat cried for a long time when we put him to bed, but then he magically slept through the night!!!eleventy!!! I didn’t, because the cats, who are now Mittens and Slippers, decided to play chase from 3:30 on.
Lissla Lissar is the main character in Deerskin. I share no characteristics with her except liking the name, and the book, very much. It’s been my main handle for a lot of years now. I always feel sort of like I should explain that I didn’t choose it because I was an abused princes.

Trying to haul Mr. Lissar up and keep Nat up for a while before his first nap, so maybe we can go to Mass. That would be really nice.

Mittens and Slippers - what cute kitteh names!

Oh, wait…

Yay for sleeping baby at least. Nothing like some sleep to make a body feel human. Or so I hear…

Yay! Two sleeping nights in a row. Sorry about Mittens and Slippers, though. Is there anyone you can lend them out to while you’re getting this sleeping thing taken care of?

I’m being a good girl and starting to paint early. We’ll see how many walls I can finish before it’s time to get ready to head off to church…

Happy Sunday!

Y’all are right! I read that comic strip and immediately thought of BBBobbio!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here. It’s 65 degrees Amurrkin out again this mornin’! Of course it’ll be mid 90s before the day is out but still, for now, so nice! I sat out for a while sippin’ on a cuppa just enjoyin’ the coolness and stillness. AHHHHHHHHHH…

Yay for Nat sleepin’ through the night again LiLi. Maybe he’s startin’ to get the hang of it.

Have fun with the family MOOOOOOM.

gt, young lady, get off that computer and get in there and start paintin’ those walls. They’re not going to paint themselves you know! The sooner you start the sooner you can get outside and move that mulch pile. Don’t think I haven’t noticed that you haven’t done that yet. Now, march in there and get busy! I mean it! Don’t give me that look! You want your face to freeze like that??!!

Well, I finally made it to TVLand late in the day yesterday. The going away party that I catered was hard work! But the hostess seemed pleased with all the food. After taking a bit of nap TVMan and I went to the Italian American festival. While we were there I had a huuuuuuge plate of gnocchi with red sauce and a meatball. It was pretty good but I couldn’t eat it all. TVMan won the prize, though, he had a large plate of cavatelli with a meatball, an italian sausage sandwich, 2/3 of a funnel cake that I started to eat but didn’t like, and a chocolate milk shake. I don’t know how he ate it all! I guess I should also mention that I had part of a milkshake too, but it wasn’t the greatest so I didn’t finish it.

Good morning, Mumpers!

Same ol’, same ol’ around Casa de Rebo.

I loved the cartoon, FCM. It reminds me of someone, but I can’t quite put my finger on it…

Morning. I just had an early morning thunderstorm come through. More work today.

That cartoon reminds me of Haze.

Yay for sleeping Nats! At least the cats don’t start licking your mustache at 0530 every morning.

Ya know, I said BBBobbio earlier, but, with the beer reference and all, maybe it’s more like doggio. This is a tough one to figure out!

CutiePie here’s hopin’ TVMan doesn’t explode.

I’m all purtified for churchification. Ol’ y’all know who is gettin’ dressed and we’re goin’ to go get some brekkies.

Later Y’all!

morning all - happy Sunday. Woo boy, except for that beard, that could definitely be … Swampy LOL

Thanks for the explanation about Lissla Lissar - I’d never heard of her before. Well, the character, that is. So sorry to hear about Mittens and Slippers, though!

Y’all are so full of energy! I think I’m going to make some brekkies–home fries (with red potatoes), eggs and bacon. I’ve decided that we can wait to do grocery shopping until Tuesday, that way I can hit the local farmer’s market as well.

Morning.

Working again. Ick. Though it is somewhat more bearable when your boss shows up with a boxful of fresh pastries from the French bakery near her house (mmmm… proper flaky croissant with almond filling… nom nom nom).

It finally stopped raining just as I arrived at work, which is nice. I was starting to think my entire house might just float away overnight, or that maybe Canada was on the verge of developing its very own monsoon season. Hopefully it will stay dry long enough for The Boy to mow the lawn… the flipside of all this rain is that our grass is incredibly lush and is shooting up so fast that it gives new meaning to “watching the grass grow”.

Yay for Nat finally getting the hang of this whole sleeping business! Maybe he can give the cats some lessons?

Sorry to hear about Bernie, FCM. She’s been a lucky puppy to have such a lovely family to care for her and love her. Please give her some nice ear scritches for me.

I’ll admit to the bad singing and the beergut, but while you slackers were in the pool this morning, I was taking diabetic old ladies to the horsepistol. <nyah!>

you’re all wrong - that was a perfect Haze impersonation! :D:D:D

But as far as I know, neither **Bbbobbio ** nor **doggio ** have beards. But the **bear ** does! :stuck_out_tongue:

Why, yes, I am secretly an old white man with a beer belly. Damnit, what gave it away? :smack:

Sorry I’ve been scarce; I’ll try to be better in the next MMP. Hugs and kisses all around.
