I’m not sure if I’ll be able to be there or not…Lady Cheek has the car and has several errands to run, and I’m at home, on the other side of the water.
So if I can’t make it, have a good time, and herownself, good bye and good luck and we’ll miss you <--------THIS MUCH!--------> and all that sentimental stuff!
I just wanted to pop in and apologize. I got tickets to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow last Tuesday, and I forgot to post saying I wouldn’t be able to triviate. Very pleasant flick, by the way. We got to Q & A with Kerry Conran after the show. He’s the guy who did this movie and is working on A Princess of Mars.
Anyhow, back to the apologizing. I can’t trivia this week, either. I’m working the polls as an election judge. It’s a cool title, but it really only consists of flipping through the book and having people sign for their ballots. It’ll take up my entire day.
I plan to make every effort to be there next time.
I’m in. We almost won last week, so I figure we gotta keep the mojo going. I’ll be there sometime after my wife and I vote. (Yes, we still go to the polls. It’s so retro!)
Saltire, no worries about not being there. Although you did miss the vote where we decided that people coming back in after being gone for two or more weeks have to give everyone else on the team $20 each. So prepare for that next time!
I’ve also got to vote first (and curse the major political parties for ruining my primary. How dare they. A plague on both their houses), but after I’ve done that, and hopefully gotten into a better mood (stupid “pick your party” checkbox) I’ll be there.
I’m kind of tired, and was going to skip it this time because it cuts into my sleeping time.
But then I talked to my morning-boss, and she said she wouldn’t mind if I came in late and did my work for her in the evening. So I’ll go to trivia and sleep in. Happiness.
Just for those that may be keeping score, we got 31 out of 40, but the winners got 36. A very high-scoring night.
By the way, we should have gotten a point on the electoral college question. He asked, “Besides Texas and California, which western state has the most votes in the electoral college?” After someone pressed for clarification, he said that “western” meant “west of the Mississippi river.”
We put down Missouri, I believe, and he said the answer was Washington. It turns out both states have 11 votes.
Don’t know if anybody’s still reading, but I’m out this week. Got work around the house, and I’ll be watching the VP debate (aka “Bambi vs. Godzilla”). See y’all next week.
