In which I say a nice thing about a Republican

Campbell, the guy she ran against in the primary, is a far classier act and far more conservative. If the general election had her as the Democrat and Campbell as the Republican I would probably vote for a Republican for the first time in my life. Mostly because of all my friends that she screwed over at HP.

To the contrary, they are excellent for throwing away.

Wow. I’ve got three HP printers and they are absolute workhorses. Never a moment’s trouble with any of them.

OK, so she screwed over the people, wrecked the company and was so horrifically bad they asked her to step down. And now she’s campaigning on the basis of her business “leadership” skills.

Vote for me! I’m incompetent and dishonest!

She’ll fit right in around here, sadly.

I have always admired Dan Evans, former Governor and Senator from Washington State.*
From Wikipedia: “Despite being a Republican and a self-styled conservative, Evans became known for his administration’s liberal policies on environmental protection (he founded the country’s first state-level Department of Ecology, which became Nixon’s blueprint for the federal EPA) and strong support of the state’s higher education system, including founding Washington’s system of community colleges. He fought unsuccessfully for a state income tax.”

He’s a Rockefeller Republican, a dying (and sorely missed) breed in public life, and nearly completely dead inside the party.

*Heh, going into the Pit to post a compliment! Anarchy forever!!! plus I said something nice about Newt Gingrich once - breakin’ all the rulez!!!

You’re just a wild and crazy guy
