Intellectualize song lyrics game

I’m totally baffled by most of these, but then again I don’t listen to the radio that much anymore. Anyhoo, here are some that I came up with:

LJ-1: I have no feelings of trepidation regarding the ceasing of metabolic processes, and am in fact relatively indifferent to it; if said cessation of metabolic processes may bring one a sense of tranquility, then it is my will that I will undergo such a cessation in the near future. Furthermore, if the cessation of metabolic processes brings one a sense of tranquility, and I will undergo said cessation in the near future, my only request is that the receptacle for my bodily remains be well-insulated, as the temperature is considerably lower underground.

LJ-2: It is 0900 hours on the day preceding the Sabbath, and the habitual patrons of this establishment enter. A person of advanced age is seated in close proximity to myself, and is engaged in sexual intercourse with a mixed drink consisting of rye spirits and quinine. He says, "Male offspring, I request that you perform a cerebral recollection on your musical instrument. I am uncertain of the progression of said cerebral recollection, but it evokes both feelings of melancholy and flavors reminiscent of sucrose products, and furthermore I was cognizant of its full extent when I was dressed in the garments of a person of less advanced age.

LJ-3: One extends one’s lower appendage on the starboard side. One returns said appendage to its resting position. One again extends said appendage and oscillates it vigorously. One performs an ambulatory motion described in the title of this song while rotating one’s physical form. That is the meaning and purpose of all things.

LJ-1 And When I Die Blood, Sweat and Tears

LJ-2 Piano Man Billy Joel

LJ-3 The Hokey-Pokey Various Artists

LJ-2 is Piano Man by Billy Joel (great job with that)
LJ-3 is the Hokey Pokey (also great job)

Sorry, posted simultaneously…

BTW, on LJ-2, I believe the elderly man’s drink incorporates distilled spirits of the juniper berry, not rye.

Hokey Pokey - Roland Lawrence LaPrise -(Google)

I think I got one!

Back to lurk mode…

D’oh! To damn slow!

This one may be too obscure: (I remember the chorus of the song quite well, but I did have to google the lyrics… plus I got out the dictionary… hints upon request)

TR3: At intervals I attempt various projects and am simply unsuccessful in achieving my goals.
I feel my efforts are thwarted, I expend great energy in executing it but my the end result is not what I desired.
It is as if I make a great effort to focus but my aim is not reached.
All my actions and all my efforts are constantly wasted.

Oops, make that “but the end result is not what I desired” sorry for the typo.

Sorry, no.

Time for hints!

L-g-B3 is an old blues song that has been covered at least twice in the past five years by rock acts (however, I’ve only heard one of them).
The post office delivered to me a message before noon today. Do you have any insight as to what this note decreed?

L-g-B5 was also released in the last five years. When this song was first released, it was a pretty big MTV2 hit, but the band has since suffered from a bit of a backlash. I took a few liberties with the song.
The last time the moon shone, she informed me she was feeling depressed, and that she loses all interest (both sexual and otherwise) when she is not included as part of the conversations.

L-g-B8 was used prominently in a movie. I think people are missing a key word (“musical”). I actually thought this was one of my easiest.
If using your voice to loudly emit musical themes is your prerogative, so be it.

If we’re still having trouble, I’ll add more lines to the songs.

SKEE01: It is currently possible to observe your narrator, an experienced combatant, tempered by a large number of skirmishes which have taken place primarily in the realm of the non-physical.

That’s Blue Oyster Cult’s “Veteran of 1000 Psychic Wars” - I should have seen that one sooner…

Also, you desire to be in possession of that female; in addition, that female longs to have you. No single individual, not a single person, no entity of this earth can ever bear the liability for this situation.

skeezix, my take on capacitor’s conundrum was more along the lines of “Its like a jungle out there, why am I still happy?” (he has that “simile” language in there)

New Clues

MRB1 (they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin, formed by the lead guitarist of Motorhead)
“Oh my goodness” spake the homeless one,
“That which you offer unto others and that which you recieve
are completely dissimilar.
Consume what is set before you
Malevolent zephyrs tug your endoskeleton to putrecense
Malevolent zephyrs that will release, release me from bondage.”
MRB2 (At least one of their songs has already been posted, this band lost their vocalist-the new band features the vocalist in MRB10)
“So I am controlling a personal automobile that is traversing along a major thoroughfare infamous for being a shopping mecca for the extremely wealthy, all the while having in my posession a firearm that combines short range with high lethality-the assembled personages have not personally witnessed the presence of a person of swarthy appearance since their progenitor’s progenitors purchased one.”
MRB3 (from their first album, American band, great guitarist)
“There are no humans perambulating the walkways of this city post-sunset but myself- the anarchistic, rebellious child of the atom!”
MRB4 (one of the biggest American hard rock bands…ever, starred in a bad, fictionalized movie about themselves)
An urchin perambulated up to my personage one day and queried of me “Sir, I ask you about these various things, and those various things, and why is your verbiage so odd?” I, replying, vocalized “I am the apotheosis of all that is desirable, I am like unto a zephyr.”
MRB5 (lead singer notoriously ugly and notoriously cheap, bass player also in Hawkwind)
“I was slain by Thanatos incarnate, I was slain by Thanatos incarnate!”
MRB6 (This is the second song by this band I posted, a colorful band indeed)
"Metaphorically sugary (innocent) young human offspring dwelling within the chronosphere, you will observe the union of two points along the shortest distance between them, said union sketched along the boundary between forces of light and darkness.
MRB7 (released this year, kick-ass video, cool animation, Dave Grohl worked with them)
“The woman vocalized “I will dispose of myself”
“These are two-dimensional representations of reality at a specific space-time”
I am unable to coerce you to remain in the vicinity
I cannot douse you from my epidermis
Beyond the metaphorical confines of the aforementioned representations is what you and I are excluding
Your neurons will not form nor maintain the neccessary synapses to recollect these events, at any rate-”
MRB8 (one of the greatest speed-demon guitarists ever, usually does instrumentals)
“Presently, the oceangoing vessels of your people have been reduced to cinders and the force opposed to good has reappeared in your vicinity. It will fall upon you in a stealthy fashion, and there is naught you can do to avoid this fate.”
MRB9 (The guitarist was Satriani before Satriani was Satriani, and the lead vocalist has also worked with Eddie Van Halen)
"I analogize your physical beauty to a simple confection of crystalized sucrose precipitated from supersaturated heated H2O, young woman: quite solid, stimulating certain taste buds that detect sugary foods, and tending to cause adjacent objects to cling.
MRB10 (softer song from a disbanded hard rock band’s frontman, not in Pearl Jam, but almost…)
“This woman of whom I sing I percieve as omnipotent- ownership of any given whimsy is well within her grasp; the potency to alter that which she percieves is incorrect. I fail to comprehend what it is she desires of my presence.”

BJ1 - My name is ______, which is the same as my father and paternal grandfather. My grandfather rarely appeared in this area, in fact he only visited the heavily populated area twice per solar cycle.
“Copperhead Road” by Steve Earle

Here’s mine:

Pater stated: “Male offspring! I shall be forced to engage in the imbibing of spirituous beverages should you not cease your operation of that overly mechanically enhanced Republican born in Hodgenville, Kentucky.”

“It’s like a jungle sometimes, it makes me wonder how I keep from going under.” Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, “The Message.” Good one, capacitor.

My last three have gone un-commented upon. The first two are probably a little obscure to some people, but the third one should be doable for most. I’m gonna go ahead and repost it with some slight modifications:

I experience feelings of gratification. I had recognized at an earlier date that this chain of causality would manifest itself at the present time. I experience feelings of comfort. Condiments in powdered form. So gratifying, so gratifying. I claim ownership over an indefinitely specified person.

FrankD6’s entry is “Hotrod Lincoln” by Cody Commander.

"My pappy said ‘Son, you’re going to drive me to drinkin’
If you don’t stop drivin’ that hotrod Lincoln’ "

OK, so maybe I made these a little too hard. Here they are again.

sturm-1
Hint: this song was big on MTV and radio about 10 years ago.

Fleets, regiments, squadrons, and other groupings of those who are innately maleficient, appearing in scenes created by neurons firing while in a state of torpidity, which scenes primarily comprise countenances decorated in an allegedly humorous fashion; said groupings made illegal and attempted to expunge all such auditory stimuli created with the intent that those who became cognizant of the stimuli should desire to repeat the experience, by the use of a false airtight container in which certain persons should be exposed to emmisions which are quite inimical to essential cellular functions.

sturm-2
Hint: this song was popular a year or two ago, and still gets played a fair amount.

An ornithid of aurum hue, which has partaken to relocate to points elsewhere; the uneven, high temperature chemical reaction of a taper with the atmosphere. I ruminate over the fact that I had enclosed you within my arms so recently as the earthly rotation immediately preceding this one; however, the feelings of tenderness and affection you projected toward me were in fact no more than an interesting diversion in relationship psychology for you.

Mabye it’s just that no one listens to the same songs I do… but I can’t resist one more… then I’ll try further contemplation of solutions to others.

TR4:
It persists that I wish to cleanse myself in the liquid used for your ablutions
And desire to contemplate your inability to attach yourself to any other party
Doubling the use of a dental appliance, you embody the type of male which I desire.

Not sure a hint will help, as it should be pretty obvious if you’re heard the song… but it was out a couple of years ago and the group had another hit a few months ago. This is one of the later choruses of the song.

Er… oops. “Ornith-” is a valid prefix, and “-id” is a valid suffix, but the combination of the two is invalid. It should be though, because it sounds cool.
