Interesting web site (Tribe.net)

So I was reading an old US News & World magazine, and ran across an interesting article about Urban Tribes, this new phenomenon in which people in their 20’s form groups of friends and put off marriage. In fact it states that the new 21 seems to be 30.

So in this article they talk about Friendster.com and Tribe.net. Intrigued I visited. I sort of like Tribe.net, so I thought I would share it on here. (I am not affiliated with this web site in any fashion, other than having an account)

I created a tribe for the SDMB members here: http://sdmb.tribe.net/

This seems to be a pretty interesting site, I did a search on it here, but didn’t find anything. The copyright page says it was started in 2003, so it is rather new.

So, join up if you are interested!

Oh, it is absolutely free.

There are also more tribes than you can shake a stick at. For example, many RPG tribes (I started an Amber DRPG tribe), humor tribes, science and humanities tribes, history… Well, pretty much if you name it, there is likely a tribe for it, or, if not, you can start one of your own.

Getting friends, matchmaking and even finding jobs or selling things online.
(Ok, so I found this yesterday, in a few days I will probably realize it isn’t as neato an idea as I thought and my enthusiasm will seem… quaint)
