International Mafia

If we all agreed on a mass-travel claim (in both cities) and then we established a policy of announcing all travel plans with justification, that’s one thing. But to single out only some of the travelers and demanding accountability only from them, it could be stacking the deck against town travelers while maintaining security-through-obscurity for the scum travelers. I don’t know how the traveling deck is currently stacked as far as those in public vs those in private, hence the hesitancy and paranoia.

NETA I’m off to sleepy time now.

I can’t vote for someone on just a skeezy feeling.

vote: Scuba Ben on the vanilla stuff.

Best I can do before deadline.

I DO feel the need to blame sach. I just didn’t think it would help to do so in the game thread.

Okay, I’m caught up now.

Ed and I are the only ones who haven’t placed any votes yet toDay, if I’ve got my spreadsheet up to date. For me, it’s because I was away from boards for 48 hours.

I would like to hear from Natlaw defending eir probing for travel plans. Travel is one of the ways the two cities interact.

I think USCDiver’s vote in #434 is incredibly weak, and almost “me-too”. So for now:

vote USCDiver

Cookies, my NZD 0.05 on your Night power:

You have an ability to break a tie. Otherwise your vote doesn’t mean anything – London doesn’t even see it until their Dusk. I suggest you hold your Night vote until late in the Night. As to whether to use it or not, that depends on your read of the vote leaders.

<snipped and bleached>

rut roh.

i agree with cookies (and if ed does something i agree with i am going back to church because final judgement is at hand).

the inability to interact in real time with our friends in the land of bad pub food is really hurting my head. and i can totally get down with cookies kind of mentioning “skimming” the other folks’ posts. crud it’s hard enough to engage just daily with a group than i can comment on without adding an additional group that i have no ability to participate in their discussions.

[ok someone else may need to help me out with this.

can someone point me to pleo’s and idle’s actual claims where they quote pms?

Natlaw posted a handy link summary earlier:

Nope. You would have to ask an SDMB moderator. I suggest that you do NOT.

Ooops. My mistake. London and Wellington are switched.
All times are correct. Wellington Day ends at at 10:00AM NZDT Tuesday 18 December 2010 (Friday 4:00PM EST 17 December 2010 for the Yanks). London Dawn occurs at 21:00 GMT Friday 17 December 2010.

I strongly considered having Days be 3.5 or 4.5 days long so that Wellington Day would end around the time of the real Wellington Dusk. But I’m not willing to get up at 4AM local for that.

I’m trying to go back and look over London Day 1 a bit more, and something sticks out about ShadowFacts’ claim Yesterday (Post 244). He said:

Notice the total absence of color. Now, his is the only ‘completely vanilla’ claim so far (i.e. no power and no travel), so that may explain it…or it may have been edited. I know that some folks dislike arguments centered on the language in PMs, but it did stick out at me.

Unvote

Suburban unvoted peeks, so I’m removing my vote on him. Day nearly ends, so I’ll:

Vote Natlaw

for trying to pull specific travel plans from players. I’m not sure that’s a wise move because it might help scum.

thanks guiri. and i know we are getting close to the end of the day but just for discussion purposes for the rest of the Day and for the folks on the other side of the world.

i wonder why i and astral got names and the claimed folks didn’t.

neta: the other claimed folks.

<snipped>

gd that sound ominous. any particular reason.

because i am curious i am almost attempted to do so to see what happens. i mean it would be like walking around and seeing a button on a wall that says under no condition do you press this. well crud i’d probably press it twice just to make sure.

Because you shouldn’t be bothering the SDMB moderators with our silly game. Check your post before you post it, and if you don’t just live with it. It isn’t important enough to drag an uninterested party into fixing minor mistakes.

Eh, give it a try. We’ve seen “Death by Mod” already, maybe we can get a “Death by Forum Admin”

I didn’t single out some random travellers - I asked the question of the publicly revealed travelers (Pleonasts already revealed his forced travel schedule). And yes, I could have talked travel strategy in general but with known travelers around I wanted to hear from them first so I didn’t expand on it myself and asked them directly.

What haven’t I explained to your satisfaction? What has that second sentence to do with it?
