How ironic. Today is World Cancer Awareness Day, as well as the day a Faire acquaintance is in the end stages of a battle against diabetes and cancer.
It’s also the day DH learns new acronyms like 5FU and IMRT.
I just made scones by myself for the first time! (or should I call them N.O.S. for “Not Our Scones”?)
I made them into circle, heart, and dachshund shapes. I’ll bring them to a sale tomorrow.
Just chunk everything in the dumpster, like I did.

I had a call from my doting parent yesterday, she’d been to the boob clinic for an emergency squish because she had been feeling a dull ache for a while. The doc couldn’t find anything, but referred her to the clinic anyway. Turns out to be a problem with her chest wall and not anything more serious so she’s very relieved about that.
And today we have snow. Who did that?

I have a day of doing the drawings for something that someone else designed. It is a pretty bad design, obviously done by someone who has never actually built anything. One of the items cannot be built the way he’s drawn it from the material he specified, but **FCD **and I discussed it yesterday, and he suggested an alternate approach which I’m going to draw up and send to the designer this morning.
CAD software needs a warning label: JUST BECAUSE YOU KNOW HOW TO USE THIS PROGRAM, IT DOESN’T MAKE YOU AN ENGINEER! There’s just a little bit more to engineering design than being able to draw pretty pictures. :rolleyes:
Speaking of canine Cone Of Shame, not only did Higgs not need one, she bounced back from her spaying amazingly fast! The first day, she was out of it, but 2 days later, except for her shaved belly, you’d never know anything was different, and less than a week after, she’s her old psycho self. But she’s still terrified of Ziva - watching the two of them just cracks me up!

My givadammer is seriously malfunctioning today.
When I saw Scott, based on what I witnessed with my mother, he’s got about a week or two left. But he’s already defied the predictions of more experienced experts.
Seeing sister, aunts and uncles, and a sizeable portion of healthier cousins was worth it.
Visited with the VunderKind and FDiL, and stayed overnight with her family. Good, normal people (no comments from the peanut gallery!), and the dynamic in their house reminded me a lot of Sunday dinners with my mother’s side of the family back before I could drive. Well, without the Bible-thumping of grandma.
Driving back yesterday was a LOT easier than the snowfest I went through on Firday. I hate snow.

Thanks for all the hugs and condolences y’all. I yanked a ham out of da freezer last night to thaw. I shall bake it and take it over for the family to nosh on. I figure ham is a good thing cause one can make sammiches and so on with ham. Besides, hey, ham!
I thought about sump’n earlier that kinda gave me the giggles. Mr. Jim was raised Baptist. Miss Mary was raised Quaker. So they got married and thought, hmmm… we need a compromise here, so they became Whiskypalians. Don’t know how that is a compromise meet in the middle type thing, but there it is.
I also have a grrrrr. I did not check irk email last night, so this mornin’ what do I have but an email remindin’ me of a meetin’ tonight that I did not know about. It’s the Workforce Investment Board which is kinda sorta one of those things one cannot blow off. GRRRRRRR… A six p.m. meetin’. Oh well, at least they feed us so I guess that’s a good thing.
I am impatient by nature and today my impatience has made me look like an idiot. :smack::o I am so embarrassed right now and could go crawl under the table if it wouldn’t hurt my knee.
