I must take a break from this package of drawings I’m working on. Teh Stoopit - it BURNSSS US it does!!! What’s even scarier - this is going to be built overseas and the designer doesn’t even know if the company can do sheet metal construction. So if they can’t, all the work we’re doing is for nothing!
No wonder this project is so over budget… <headdesk> And it’s company money we’re wasting - not a customer’s. Oh well - it pays the same, regardless…
I just found a job advert saying part of the reception duties is to ‘take and pass on massages’. Reckon I should go for it?
Anyway, ai will be away tomorrow- for some reason, I’m going to an enormous trade fair tomorrow. No, I don’t have a shop, but I’m apparently pretending to still be managing one for the day. I can’t find my comfy trainers though, so my feet are going to hate me by the end of the day unless they show up- it’ll be about 5 hours of continuous walking…

…obviously done by someone who has never actually built anything. One of the items cannot be built the way he’s drawn it from the material he specified…

What? You don’t have 9/25" cold-rolled unobtanium in stock? No 5/11 dreamon either?
Reminds me of the day I saw someone draw up a PC board in AutoCAD with four traces running between two pins on a 16-pin DIP. I bet them $20 that they’d never be able to etch that board. Easy money.
Our insurance company is about to have a bird or kittens or maybe even a cow. My doc wanted an MRI of my neck last month, and the insurance had a minor fit. Now, DH needs a PET scan. Any bets on what their reaction will be to that?
Oh PLEASE don’t give him any ideas!!! I’ve been sharing these gems with my coworker drafter - he and I have agreed that this guy is not fun to work with. Yes, we’re being diplomatic.
I’m sure he’s good at what he does, but when he tries to do what he’s not been trained to do, he sucks. It would be like me trying to design a bridge. After all, I’ve driven over many many of them - how hard can it be to design one??
It’s lunch time. I’m taking a break before my brain turns to mush. Yogurt de-mushifies brains, right??
What do I find intimidating? Well, to be honest, there are many things that will intimidate me but I’ve also found that list to be diminishing the older I get! LOL Maybe I’m less afraid to speak up? I don’t know. I do know that caller ID has enabled me to NOT answer the phone, so I really love that - except when the caller blocks it, of course! :smack:
Well, it’s Tuesday, thank goodness. And tomorrow I get to visit the grocery store for Senior’s discount - 10% off (they do this on the first Wednesday of the month). It does save a bit on the grocery bill, which is good, especially since the cost continues to go up for just about everything. Yesterday I read a story on comcast.net (yeah, you know everything you read on the Internet is true, right?) that said New Mexico was one of the worst places to retire to. Oh well, too late for me now! :smack: (Actually, it was one of the 10 worst states and I don’t think it was the worst, or at least I hope it’s not the worst! LOL).
I have had N.O.L. of turkey, green beans and brown rice. That was the last of the turkey so yay. Poke chops for dindin with succotash and steamed new N.O.T. Should be good. I shall grill the poke chops. I kinda sorta wanna fry 'em but grilled is better for us.
Came out of a meeting in downtown TA and the car won’t start. almost certainly the battery…
Good news is that it’s on “operational leasing” which means call Avis and they should be here any minute now with a new battery and I don’t have to pay a Shekel
I love the leasing agreement…
Holy hangnails! I just looked up the price of PET scans. I do believe the insurance people will be wanting to say “Go away! Business like yours, we do not need!” at the end of the year.
{{{Swampy}}}. She sounds like she was a neat lady.
I am on the receiving end of “no good deed goes unpunished today”. Every good deed I’ve done in the last week at work is coming back to bite me in the ass. Update a ticket by contacting the user and leaving a message asking for more information? The ticket is now wholly mine. Open a ticket for the issue the receptionist was ranting about so it could be handled before she ranted at the Boss On High? She finds it, elevates the severity, and the guy whose butt I was trying to protect growls at me for making work for him. And so on, and so on. Make an extra effort to help a user with a problem outside of my knowledge area? I am now her favorite person on Earth, and Every Single Issue she has goes straight to me.
I agree. You will be in trouble if you clean someone else’s house that is not mine!
So pick up the car & drive on over. The two states are next to each other…
Home - yay! Plus we got free pizza. I got an email from PapaJohn’s saying I’d picked the correct answer in the SuperBowl coin toss (really? When did I do that?) and I won a free pizza. So I ordered it for pickup on the way home. After I ordered it and got confirmation showing it was free, I looked at the original email again - supposedly the freebie is only available starting tomorrow thru Sunday. But I got it and it’s free, so it doesn’t violate my boycott of PapaJohn - WIN!
I also ran into McKay’s and got a cobbler for dessert, so supper is ready.
And it turns out there’s a Harley factory somewhere between Ephrata and home and **FCD **stopped. They do tours, and they have a store, so he came home with a dog collar and dog bone, plus a t-shirt, all emblazoned with the Harley emblem. I should be grateful - his mid-life crises could have been hookers and blow…
