I just purchased an iPhone X. I used to have a 6S. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had issues with syncing the X with their bluetooth devices. With my old 6S it was as easy as 1-2-3. I haven’t been able to sync my speaker, headphones or car with the new X. I Googled it and see that it has been an issue, but none of the helpful hints were helpful. My next step is to go back to the AT&T store - which I dread doing. It’s always at least a half hour process once I get there.
It looks like the nearest Apple store to you is two hours away in Minneapolis, but I’d go there instead, even with the required driving. You can also call the Apple store and see how far you can get over the phone…they may be able to tell you that they’ll swap your phone for you upon arrival, which might make it easier to commit to the drive.
This seems to be an ongoing issue and will likely be resolved with an IOS update. That said, I have two colleagues with iPhone Xs with zero Bluetooth problems.
But why not call the Apple store? They may be able to tell you something like, “yes, it’s a known issue and a fix is coming in IOS 11.X.” That would save you both a trip to Minneapolis and a trip to the AT&T store. Wireless carrier “stores” are, in my experience, operated according to the guidelines published by the Franz Kafka School of Management.
