Since I have to work today, my partner and I decided that we would host our first Thanksgiving dinner on the day after Thanksgiving, since all of our family and friends are off. Several of my co-workers are also having T-giving dinner on Friday. Anyone else doing this?
We’re having it on Sunday… our son had his tonsils out last Monday, and won’t be able to eat serously until about then…
We’re sort-of celebrating tomorrow: We had the bird & everything today (my parents, sister and I), but we’re going out to visit my grandmother tomorrow. We’ll not be doing another turkey/stuffing/sauce deal, but the spirit will be there.
We’re celebrating on Saturday afternoon (it’s midday Friday here right now).
We invited a bunch of people over for a barbecue. I’m making the traditional turkey, potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce spread. We’re also having shrimp creole, since one of our friends wanted to try it. I couldn’t find canned pumpkin here, so I’m making a chess pie instead of a pumpkin pie (plus, of course, apple pie…it’s in the oven right now…mmmmmmmmm).
We had one tonight (thursday) and another tomorrow night! Yay!
Having Thanksgiving on Sunday. Thursday is just a normal working day here, in fact due to afterschool and evening activities it’s the busiest day of the week for us, so we’re saving the bird for a quieter day.
Tom Turkey is thawing in the fridge right now, in fact. He weighs only 4 kg. I feel a little guilty about taking him away from his mommy
Me and my one true love will be celebrating on Sunday, right after I gets off work.
