:hangs head: My gift has been sent courtesy Amazon. I should arrive in the next couple of days. It was my best effort for now with lots of stuff happening in my life right now. But in a perfect world, I could have done better. And I don’t think I even put my doper name on it.
I think it could be fun. I hope so at least. So if you get an Amazon package and it’s from someone whose first name starts with a J, it’s probably me.
My gift came in the mail today, but I like to wait to open it (unless waiting would be bad, feel free to let me know!) I just wanted to assure my Santa that it arrived safely
I need one more small thing before my package gets to the post office, but rest assured, it will make it to its destination before Christmas!
Ok. I have all the gifts for my recipient save one, which I have been waiting forever to be shipped and, at this point, I may have to send in a seperate package.
I’m going to put the box together this week and hopefully have it shipped out by Friday.
I’m almost ready to ship my package, but due to a series of migraines, I haven’t been able to get the last few things together. Based on where it’s going, it should still arrive by Christmas.
Gift arrived, but I don’t have it because I gave my sister’s address… she lives in a quiet cul de sac in a posh neighborhood, whereas I live in a busy street in a less salubrious neighborhood.
I tried to dispatch mine yesterday, but the guy at our local postal service had some misgivings about US customs - not that I included anything illegal*. So I am repacking, and taking it to a diffent post office today. Because of our less than stellar postal service I need to send via DHL or similar, which is fast and safe(r).
\☆ - I was SO tempted to vacuum wrap a local delicacy, Bokkum, which is salted dried fish very specific to Western Cape culture, but I did not think US customs sniffer dogs would appreciate that. I mean, I don’t even eat it…
Part 1 was enroute last week, remaining parts of a local nature should be on the way by the weekend.
i was also thwarted by bouts of illness, plus, the strangely late-in-the-month holiday markets in the area… possibly due to the temperature being 84°F/28°C around these parts. It hardly feels Xmasy/Solsticey!
Unless there’s more than one person matching that description, it’s arrived!
I haven’t examined it yet (the note was on top and fell out), because I am trying to be good and wait for at least my time off work to start, but it looks interesting! Thanks!
International shipping seems to have really ramped up in complexity this year. You used to just be able to go to the post office here and fill out a little form with the contents, now it’s a multi-step process online and the nearby small post office refused to even deal with it going to the US, they told me I needed to go to the main one… Crazy…
@Reeses_Monkey Today I opened the lovely dragonfly window hanger. It is beautiful, thank you so much! (How did you know that I have lovely glass french doors to display it properly?")
There’s no obvious markings on it that would hint to its SDMB origins, but if one of our fearless Mountaineers gets a box from Roseburg, Oregon then they should rest assured that it’s the SDMB Secret Santa goodies!
The guy at the shipping place assured me that it should arrive before Christmas. I will retain the tracking number for reference should there be any issues.
