Is anyone watching Under the Gunn?

Yes, I felt pretty good about Asha early on, then started to feel pretty neutral, and now after seeing how she treated Natalia, I have an active dislike of her.

I will tone down what I said about the fabric – I do like a classy bronze fabric but for this challenge, I thought a bright or saturated color would have been great for a party dress. Listen to your client, don’t go for the earth tones you like. When they showed Oscar looking for fabrics, a gorgeous magenta purple went by and I thought for a second Asha might pick something like that.

I’m the same way.

Asha did a nice criss cross thing ala natalie style… anyone notice that. Oscars dress was wonderful but havent we seen that a hundred times?

Mondo drives me crazy one week I like him the next not so much.

When will the real Project Runway be back?

Btw, what the hell was Mondo wearing this time during the runway? A purple sequined dress over black pants and a suit jacket? In addition to his ugly ugly fake glasses.

I was curious myself, so I did some Googling, and all I can find is that casting is going on until April 14, so I guess they haven’t even started shooting it yet.

(My wife and I watch, but the last couple are on our DVR and we haven’t seen 'em yet… hence, no post from me in a while, twickster)

(Hope “Asha’s a bitch and she makes ugly clothes” doesn’t prove to be too big a spoiler. )

HIS GLASSES ARE FAKE??? I not once thought that. My favorite Mondo outfit so far was the 1/2 kilt thing he was wearing a week or 2 ago.:stuck_out_tongue:

His glasses are legit, as far as I know.

Yes, he is selling those fugly things.

I tried to go the SEE site to see just how awful they are, but the site was way too full of itself for me to get very far.

Two words I am getting sick of hearing
silhouette and aesthetic.

OK, until more articulate people post detailed opinions, here are my simple opinions of the superhero challenge.

Oscar (Gamora) - I didn’t care for his dress at all. The only reason I can articulate is that I didn’t like the design.

Asha (Falcon) - Not bad.

Sam (Hawkeye) - Didn’t care for the front of the shirt. Made me think of a bib.

Shan (Captain Marvel) - I thought it looked pretty cool.

And Sam getting moody then admitting to attempting suicide twice? That all seemed to come out of nowhere. Was it all him, or did the producers have anything to do with it? I definitely think it’s what got him through to the finally.

I hate the fake “one person’s going home” which then gets switched to “everybody advances!” Project Runway did that too many times - it was much better when they don’t change the rules midgame.

Plus perhaps that means Asha would have gone home.

Yes, I’m kind of tired of the Big Reveal shtick. And the Everyone Goes Through! shtick. It just means they couldn’t decide between Sam’s clown outfit and Asha’s ho-hum outfit. Even Shan’s was ho-hum and done before.

I just can’t believe this is the best they have to choose from. Looking forward to Project Runway coming back. But of course I will tune in for the finale because I am interested to see collections from them when they have more time to design.

Rachel Roy – a turban, really? Turbans always remind me of the rant from Soapdish:

“…I don’t feel quite right in a turban. What I feel like is GLORIA FUCKING SWANSON! What am I, 70, David? Am I 70? Why don’t you just put me in a walker? Buy a goddamn walker and put me in it!”

[into PA system] Attention: no turbans for Miss Talbert!

I knew at the top of the episode when Sam was claiming to be experiencing “ennui” that it was going to go there.

If the idea of this show was to mix things up in ProjectRunwayLand, it was a failure.

But having invested this many hours of my life to it, I’m in till the bitter end.

The finale

For some reason I made notes on the individual looks for every designer Sam. Most of the notes are very brief. I ranked the designers backwards from the order in which they showed, so my most favorite to least favorite: Oscar, Asha, Shan, Sam.

My brief, inarticulate opinions:

Oscar - My favorite. Even though I have some nitpicks I loved his looks overall.
Look 1 - Good, except for the cape.
Look 2 - Good, except for the big legs, bell bottom type look.
Look 3 - Good, except for hanging too much on the side.
Look 4 - Great
Look 4 - Great.

Asha - Second favorite. I’m a little surprised because in the last two or three weeks I haven’t really cared for her designs.
Look 1 - The 70’s called. It wants its look back.
Look 2 - Not great, but better than the first.
Look 3 - I really like this one.
Look 4 - Good.
Look 5 - I really like this one.

Shan - Third favorite.
Look 1 - Meh. I really dislike the legs.
Look 2 - I really like this one.
Look 3 - So so. Too plane.
Look 4 - Needs pants or to go down lower.
Look 5 - Nice, but the top doesn’t really match in the front, but it looks good on the back.

Sam - Although very cohesive, my least favorite.
I disliked the yellow stripes and the print was OK, but not great. I liked his first look the best.

I agree with you on Asha – I reluctantly liked her stuff better than before, but “Bianca Jagger, Studio 54” isn’t exactly a compliment. And it made that tiny model look pregnant. I did like the kimono and that fabric was a good choice.

I appreciated how cohesive Sam’s looks were but dull color with a shot of acid green is so a few years ago. And it doesn’t help to say you hate couture. He really is just off the rack and I’m surprised Tim thought otherwise.

I loved Shan’s one look – the red lace dress just past the knee. And the jumpsuit was nice. Overall though, a disappointment. I would have thought all along that Shan and Oscar would be the top two but Shan talked more than once about being exhausted. His sleepy twins were adorable.

In the end I am happy for Oscar and particularly for Nick, although I don’t think the mentors overall added that much to the contestants’ performance. I like an underdog and I was pleasantly surprised by Oscar who I thought at the beginning was way too showy/ice skating costume. I agreed with the judges about the two-slit skirt not hanging right, and it wasn’t my favorite the first time around, but for his whole body of work he deserved to win.

I was surprised Sam’s pants got praise for fitting so well – my first thought was “if you’re going to do pants like that, they have to fit like a glove.” I liked his collection – very wearable. Which I don’t consider an insult.

Agree that the headwear on Asha’s collection was weird. She’s had problems with fit all season, so oddly fitting bulk was about what I expected.

And bummer about Shan – he clearly ran out of steam. Leather and lace. Enh idea – and bad execution.

Oscar was clearly the winner – and, gigi, agree, not what I would have expected based on the first couple of challenges.

I’m glad Oscar won.
It’s nice to see a nice person win.

I like Shan and was pulling for him, but then I dislike Anya and I didn’t her to win. Shan was a disappointment anyway.

I think Asha’s stuff looks good from far away, up close not so good.

I rated them Oscar, Sam, Shan and Asha.

I think they’ve come 'round on that; the first few seasons of Project Runway, “wearable” was an insult. I think enough fans complained that they realized how silly that was, so they now allow that “wearable” is like “sellable.”

Mrs Haven and I both agreed that Sam and Oscar had the best looks, and glad to see Oscar take it.
