I recently started a podcast with a friend and I’d really like to ask the the good people of The Dope for constructive feedback. I also don’t want to run afoul of Dope protocol. Can I get a ruling?
I should note that there are no advertisements, this is not a money making venture (at least yet), and it is availble on itunes.
We usually allow it if you seek permission in advance – said permission coming from the mods in the forum where you want to post it, which, as Bob Ducca suggests, would depend on the subject matter.
The podcast is “the week in comedy” where we discuss podcasts, live shows, TV, movies and other stuff. We mostly review podcasts we listened to during the week (Comedy Bang Bang, Doug Loves Movies, You Made it Weird with Pete Holmes, Who Charted?, The Todd Glass Show, How Did This Get Made, Nerdist, the BS Report, and a few others). It’s only about an hour long so we don’t discuss everything in that list every week. This week we mostly talked about SNL with Justin Timberlake.
It’s pretty neiche, and I’m honestly more interested in feedback than thinking we’re going to get a bunch of new listeners. Especially feedback from anyone familiar with any of those podcasts.
I’ll give it a listen but I’ll warn you that I do some work for several of those podcasts that you mentioned (my username may be a clue as to which ones) so I may be biased.
Since you have not gotten permission to post the link, giving the title so people can search isn’t acceptable. See my post immediately above for what your next step should be.
Remember to use the Member form and not the Guest, Charter Member, or Presidential form, when making your request in triplicate, or you’ll have to start the whole thing over from scratch
