I was under the impression that he landed here after they starved him out with a lack of recognition, last year. (We’ve got a generally greatsite, but we are constitutionally incapable of actually ignoring loud, obnoxious targets walking around begging to be smacked.)

Doubtful. Although he has now posted “Sandycane’s” email address over there, inviting AFCAns to email “her” so “she” can prove “she’s” not Cyb (which, of course, would prove nothing).
Now, I don’t know about such Internet legalities, but I would think it’s VERY bad form (if not downright actionable) for someone to go spreading around someone else’s email address in a public forum - particularly since “Sandy” specifically did NOT share “her” email address with us because “she” was afraid of giving out too much personal information on the 'net.
Dunno about last year, but Aster’s 3/10/00 comment in the SDMB2 (“He left afc-a as quickly as he came, from the lack of being fed.”), and the fact that he’s right back there bigger’n life going 'round and 'round with their regs, indicates that “starving” this particular troll does no good. He just jumps from SD forum to SD forum until he gets outed or permanently ousted - either by other posters, by moderators, or by the ISP itself. Of course, his penchant for sock puppets being what it is, I’ve no doubt he’ll show up here again, in no time. (So be ever vigilant!)
Well yeah! (And people wonder why I smack him!) If everyone here had suffered two long years of this bigoted asshole the way us AOLers have, they’d understand how impossible it is to “starve” the jerk.
Full-on assault (up to and including actually having the guy banned) is pretty much all that works with Cyb.

Well, Bob, Ward, I think that is an excellent idea and one that I have tried
to make them understand. I agree that should not be spread here and I have told them that. You must have seen my posts to that affect?
Following your additional, reasonable suggestion I will post it again, if the
“members” and administrators of the SDMB have a personal problem with me, or any other posters in this forum, take it to email, folks, and don’t bore everyone else.

I just want to state that it is possible to ignore John. I have been successful in this since the old AOL boards, except for possibly one of his sock puppets.
