Is June bugging you yet? (June mini-rants)

How can you forget the purple horseshoe, it’s the best marshmallow in Lucky Charms!

lightbulb moment

The other day, as I was walking out of Menard’s, I saw someone chuck a bunch of food, along with the empty bag, out of the driver’s side window of a truck parked in a handicapped space. As I walked past the truck, I said “You know, somebody is eventually going to have to pick that up. That’s disgusting! I hope you’re real proud of yourself.” He looked shocked and said nothing to me in return. He also didn’t get out and pick it up. People are pigs!

Saw an old friend today, a lady I worked with about twelve years ago and one of the few I really liked. But while we were catching up, she let slip her opinion of current politics…oh well, guess she’s an old ex-friend now.

Yeah, mine was about a year ago, which is entirely too late. In my defense, I’ve never bought the product, and don’t watch commercials very often.

I was walking early last week and saw someone throw a drink cup out their window while waiting for a light to change.

I shouted ‘Hey!’, and, to my surprise, he did the Mash! No, actually, he looked embarrassed and actually got out of his car and picked up after himself. He may have pitched out the window again later, but I’d like to think not.

Mine was when I first saw the username because I ate that cereal as a kid. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The other shoes are not nearly as nice.

I’m having trouble with Credit Karma. They sent an e-mail. I need to upload images of some documents to a certain link. The problem is that there is no link provided in the e-mail.

Ooh, aren’t we all grown-up, eating unsweetened adult food!
I bought some 'Charms the last time my wife left town.

Only 67 days until my next box…
I’ll make sure I get some with horseshoes.

Back when I was a kid, Lucky Charms had only 4 colors of marshmallows: green clovers, pink hearts, orange stars, and yellow moons. And we liked it!

Oh dear Og:

The cereal was created by product developer John Holahan. He developed the original prototype by experimenting with Cheerios cereal pieces and chopped-up pieces of his favorite candy – Circus Peanuts.

Reported to move this to the evil MFers thread.

{ whimpers }

Please don’t hurt me! I have nothing to do with those vile peanut-shaped abominations.

< whispers quietly… > “Hey, can you get green clover and blue diamonds sprung free, too? Neither of 'em never hurt nobody, and … shhh!! We never talked!”

Were purple horse shoes part of the original mix, or were they added later? (We weren’t allowed sugary cereal.)

It originally had only 4: green clovers, pink hearts, orange stars, and yellow moons. We made do with only 4, because we had to! And Oreos didn’t come double-stuffed, we had to do it by hand. You whippersnappers don’t know how easy you had it!

Yeah, I remember when it was only 4 marshmallows.

Then, going just by memory, they added the purple horseshoe (which made sense, those are good luck) then red balloons (which made no sense at all but whatever).

I vaguely remember Lucky’s hat was also a shape? Which was confusing because it was also green. I think that was temporary but I’ll admit I haven’t kept track over the years. I have been remiss and am ashamed.

That is good. It is generally inadvisable to use links in e-mails.
It is better to go to the company’s (legitimate) website and follow links from there.

When I take friends out pontooning on the Allegheny River near us, we go by an old factory along the river in Ford City. I always point to the factory and tell people this “fun fact”: that’s where General Mills makes all the marshmallows for Lucky Charms cereal sold throughout the entire US.

Maybe it’s the alcohol I serve aboard the Lucky Dog (our boat’s name) but everyone nods their head and says, “Wow”.

Wasn’t it due to a failed cross-over promotion…?

But the German version took off, after a woman named Nena ate too many and, on a sugar rush, wrote a tribute to the Apocalyptic Circus Peanut By-Products…
