When I said she’d do something meaningful, I meant that she could get just as much satisfaction as a movie career, if not more, finishing her education and pursuing the career she was originally planning on. That’s what I meant by meaningful- more meaningful than an acting career. It has nothing to do with you or me.
And yes, if she goes and becomes a social worker or a teacher or a shrink or a doctor or a nurse or a garbage woman or a rocket scientist- it’s pretty likely that there wont be people all over the internet discussing her weight and whether or not she’s on the brink of death. S’all.
Who knows, maybe acting is the most meaningful thing to the girl personally (I doubt it, since she said she went to the audition on a whim). I’m just saying her life isn’t over if her acting career stops at this point.

I’m gonna go ahead and give you some unsolicited advice. Do not try to argue with Cisco about Howard Stern. He seems to have some very deep attachment to the man and will get rather salty about it. He gave me one of the best laughs I’ve had on this board when I discussed Howard with him once. I heard Howard say something with my own ears and he got so enraged about it saying it wasn’t true that he said “YOU TAKE THAT BACK!” Many lulz were had on my end. Many.
Now, I will admit that I used to listen to the Stern show when I was in high school and during college. I thought they were often hilarious. Sometimes I’d roll my eyes at the nonsense and a few times got angry, but for the most part I thought they were funny and Howard isn’t the devil he’s made out to be.

Edit: Also, with the work I’ve done with bariatric patients I’ll say that I don’t think I’ve met a single person as large as Ms Sidibe (as in 100 pound or more over their ideal body weight) who didn’t have some depression. IMO, the larger the person the more I feel their obesity is related to some kind of unresolved psychological issue. I don’t think you get that big from just liking food.
